I want to attend the United States Naval Academy for a variety of reasons, but my primary motivation is that I want to serve as an officer in the United States Navy.
The concept of purpose best describes why I want to become a Naval Officer. Throughout high school, I have cherished my opportunities to lead teams towards the accomplishment of meaningful goals, such as collecting life-saving blood for nearby hospitals, and assisting struggling students and community members. These service opportunities are deeply meaningful to me, but as I have learned from my grandfather, who served in the U.S. Army during World War Two, my step-father, a retired U.S. Air Force veteran, and my other grandfather, who served as a Naval Officer during the Vietnam

Naval Academy offers an exceptional education and impressive academic internships with institutions such as NASA & Boeing and summer training cruises within the Navy itself. These challenging opportunities will enable me to further develop my leadership & critical thinking skills. I have successfully used these skills in the past, but a Naval Academy education will further refine them, allowing me to serve my country fully, both on active duty and in the years to follow.
In September, I had the opportunity to visit the Naval Academy for a “Candidate Visit Weekend.” During my two-night visit, I was paired with a current midshipman, whom I accompanied to classes, meals, and a sports practice. Personally experiencing daily life at the Academy and meeting current midshipmen has reinforced my desire to join their ranks. The most inspiring thing about the midshipmen I met was the effort that they put into succeeding. Being a part of this culture, even for two days, has shown me that I can work just a little harder, and that I can push myself just a little further. Since returning home, I have done just that in numerous ways.
My goal of serving our country with meaningful purpose and responsibility is clear to me. I am confident that attending the United States Naval Academy is the most effective way for me to achieve this objective, and for this reason, I request your
Service academies have proved throughout history that they are capable of producing some of the most influential military leaders . One example being Chester Nimitz , a fleet admiral in world war two who was the commander in chief of the pacific fleet. Chester Nimitz was a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and there he received what has become my reasons for attending a service academy. I wish to attend a service academy because its alumni have proven repeatedly to have received quality education, preparation and a challenge that prepared them for the stresses of leading troops in difficult times.
My first visit to the Naval Academy was on family trip while in grammar school. On this and subsequent visits, the young men and women who chose to devote their lives to country and service greatly impressed me. As a high school student, I had the good fortune to experience Academy life via my acceptance to the competitive Summer STEM program, my invitation to Candidate Visit Weekend, and my participation in the Elite Throws Sports Camp. Through these first-hand experiences, I grew in awareness and commitment to an Academy education as an opportunity to enable me to serve my country. Moreover, I am honored to be a member of a gold star family, via my uncle Senior Master Sergeant Peter Bondi, recently deceased on active duty, and to have had a grandfather who served in the National Guard. Eulogies delivered for my Uncle Peter reflected a life of service and were a source of inspiration that fueled my resolve to serve.
I originally became interested in Naval service because of my military heritage. When I was younger, both of my grandfathers took care of me every day while my parents went to work. One of my grandfathers served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and the other served as a Merchant Marine during the Second World War and received the Purple Heart. Both of these veterans were instrumental in the early development of discipline and integrity. It is because of them that I gained a curiosity for military history. My grandfather that served as a Merchant Marine died when I was in first grade and it have always felt that it is my obligation to follow in his service to the United States by becoming an officer in the U.S. Navy. Once I started in high school, my grandfather that served in Korea began to tell me stories about his experience in the war which made me feel even further obligated to serve this great country.
The United States Navy relies on strong recruiting techniques that appeal to people that are dedicated to a life of service. The Navy looks for young men and women who wish to serve their country, seek self-improvement, and defend the values of our nation. This advertisement appeals directly to such an individual by posing to them a simple question: Do you have what it takes to join an organization that preserves this Nation’s values? These are bold words that are deliberately meant to challenge those with a Type-A personality.
I’m applying for a career of opportunities and experiences that will make me a better man, and to serve our country’s military. I’ve carefully observed my cousins’ experiences at the US Service Academies, and I’ve learned of the opportunities that would be available to me. Each of them has come out with more strength, more confidence, more discipline, and most importantly more character. Both the Naval Academy and the Air Force Academy would challenge me physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I want to take on this challenge in my life so that I will grow, and that I will play a part in ensuring the safety and security of our country.

7. One may argue that new enlistees in the Coast Guard have a purpose and know what they want to do, but the facts that are presented are the Coast Guard is 3500 people short at the non-rate level. We are accepting everyone who walks through our recruiting doors, and still can fill our personnel gap. The US economy is struggling so new recruits’ do not have the exposure required to make an educated decision on a career path. The Coast Guard will make more efficient Petty Officers as long as future goals of its service align with the future goals of the
Since its formation during the early years of our nation the United States Navy has always stood out among other militaries, playing a vital role in the protection of our own country as well as the rest of the world. Founded upon the core values of honor, courage, and commitment the Navy has continued to uphold its men and women to exceptionally high moral, mental, and physical standards for nearly 240 years. It is my favorite branch of the military and becoming an officer in it has been a goal of mine for a long time.

The Coast Guard Academy, I believe, is among the best places to start my professional life. The discipline, academics, opportunities, and expectation will set a habitual routine to my life, ensuring my personal success, successful service to the Coast Guard, and effective leadership. At the academy I hope to fulfill all pillars of my life, to shape me into an effective officer. The Coast Guard Academy will expect a higher calibre of physical training, and it is a perfect place to fit the standard. Intramural sports, a competitive environment, and routine exercise will give the opportunity to reap its benefits.
I'm interested in attending the Naval Academy Summer Seminar for two main reasons: To become a role model for my community, and to further solidify my goal to attend the United States Naval Academy and serve my nation in doing so. Attending this seminar will not only strengthen my desire to attend the Naval Academy, but also allow me to learn skills to help me perform
I joined the Marine Corps looking for a challenge. I wanted to open doors for a new career and longed to have a positive impact on the world around me. Looking back five years later, I realize I found all that I originally sought, but I’ve also found something profoundly satisfying and meaningful that I never knew I was missing.
My goal of applying to the Naval Academy began at Aviation High school, located in Long Island City. Not many people know of this hidden secret located in the heart of New York. While at aviation high school, I was part of the Junior Reserve officer Training Corps for the United States
I have aspired to attend a service academy since I entered high school in 2012. My interest in attending a service academy is derived from my goal to serve as an officer in the military. While many other universities offer quality educations, the service academies teach beyond the typical academic subjects. The academies instil values of duty, country, and honor in each individual that graduates from the academies. Furthermore, he academies are challenging programs with a commitment to serving the nation upon graduation and I am sure I am up to the challenge. Another reason that I want to attend a service academy is, throughout my life as a military child, countless service members have inspired me to join the military with their selflessness
I want to attend the Air Force Academy so I can further my education and enhance my leadership capabilities for the Air Force. The Academy’s strenuous training and academics will equip me with the necessary skills and experiences to lead, plan, and execute the highly important missions of the military. I possess a mindset of determination and selfishness, necessary to handling the rigorous curriculum and adversity of the Academy. The school will push me beyond my comfort zones and throw many obstacles my way, forcing me to adapt and over come on a more challenging level. The Academy will take and mold me into a young and diverse leader of tomorrow’s generation of armed forces. I yearn at the chance to be a leader amongst team-members, display
