Why do I want to be an ultrasound technician? I want to be a an ultrasound technician because I love babies but I wouldn’t want to be having to deal with the doctor/nurse part of having and working with babies. I think it’s nice medium between the two, and I feel like it would be a good, suitable, stable career for me. I would love to feel the joy of finding the heartbeat of a growing baby and getting to update and provide knowledge for the expecting parents. I love the sense of joy I feel when making people happy, and I feel like being in this field that I can give people that. How is the job important to the world? I think this job important to the world because it’s using technology to see how a baby is progressing and it can help save
I want to be part of the Ultrasound program because I realized that where I’m from people don’t consider going into a major like this. I was raised to become a doctor or a nurse it was either of those or your family will be disappointed. I looked at how many doctors and nurses my community has but rarely any ultrasound technicians. I also like to travel to different parts of the world and I would love to have those skills as a ultrasound technician to help those women who are unable to afford to go to a clinic to see if their baby is in good condition. A woman should never have to choose between making a decision about losing her kid, I want to be able to help those women that are struggling daily whether their baby has a health condition or even letting the parents know their baby gender.
My interest in Sonography first stemmed from another career interest in computers. I gained my problem solving skills at a young age through using computers. I was able to decipher different codes and morph them into something new. When something went amiss with the computer I would know what procedure to use in order to fix the computer. I loved the feeling of taking something broken and making it full of potential again. However, I knew I wanted to do something more than working with technology. I also had an interest in the medical field. I loved visiting the doctor. I was fascinated how the doctors and nurses could use their problem solving skills as well as their compassion to change someone’s life. I wanted to make a difference in people’s
Being able to identify lumps, swelling, tissue damage, cysts, and the overwhelming news of the sex of a baby all have something in common, an ultrasound. Swelling of the spleen, kidney stones, blood clots, aneurysms, cancer and so much more can be identified through the works of an ultrasound’s imaging technique. Ultrasound involves many concepts, procedures, and careers. The amount of medical possibilities involved with ultrasounds is useful in major medical diagnostics. The field of ultrasounds and career opportunities are widely growing. As medical careers flourish, needs for technicians in many fields of medicine are increasing. Instead of a doctor choosing complex and risky surgery to find out problems within the body, they can now
The process of becoming an ultrasound technician can be one that is intimidating. However, it doesn’t have to be. With the help of an organization called American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), those seeking to be a sonographer can achieve their goals. Although there are many steps to take, it can be done. This paper will help instruct individuals who wish to go through the sonography principles and instrumentation (SPI) examination (Sonography Principles & Instrumentation [SPI], (2015).
I want to become a cardiac ultrasound technician for multiple reasons. As a child, about three or four months old, I had to go through a huge heart surgery due to complications and abnormalities in my heart. Now because of past complications, I’m currently under the care of a cardiologist and I have to get an ultrasound and an EKG done once every two years. An ultrasound is simply a method of producing imagines from within your body by high frequency waves and an EKG/ECG is a test that records the electrical signals that your heart sends out with every beat(Electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG)). As a little girl I never was really explained how these things worked or what the pictures meant until about six years ago. It wasn’t so much the person
Therefore, the life of an Ultrasound technician is like a rollercoaster, it has its ups and downs. This job isn’t for everybody you must come prepared mentally and physically. When a client receives devastating news from you, you must know how to act and make wise decisions. Having up to 20 clients a day will cause you back problems and also having to be on your feet all day isn’t going to help. This career isn’t going to be the easiest. You must like this job enough to put up with everything it offers you and enjoy it at the same time because you will have to deal with it on a daily
There are many reasons why I want to become a phlebotomist. First of all, I have enjoyed my past experiences of working in the medical field as a CNA and USAF medical technician. As a CNA I mostly worked with the elderly. As a medical technician I worked all over the military hospitals to include the ER, Lab, and OB/GYN. I put my career on hold to raise my family. Now my children are of age and I decided it was time to get myself back to what I love, which is helping and caring for others.
I thought it was so interesting how you can see the babies just through the ultrasound and how happy it can make someone knowing their baby is healthy and strong and not only that but knowing their babies gender is even more exciting to tell the patients. I was sure I wanted to be a sonographer when my mom and sister both lost their babies before birth, it impacted me a lot because it hurt all of us and the only thing we had from them was the ultrasounds and the memory of listening to their hearts and seeing them move. In my head I thought it was unbelievable how just one ultrasound can impact somebody's life. I started to look more into it when I started college I found out that they don’t just do ultrasounds of babies they also examine people that are sick. I researched everything I had to know about it when before I didn’t know how long or short it would take me to achieve my goal.

I currently attend Baton Rouge General School of Radiologic Technology to pursue an Associates degree through Northwestern State University. I chose this profession because I always want to help others. I want to play a part in the healing process of patients. Being able to help people determine things going on inside their body interest me and that is why I chose Radiology. The true definition of a Radiologic Technologist is the “medical personnel who perform diagnostic imaging examinations and administer radiation therapy treatments. They are educated in anatomy, patient positioning, examination techniques, equipment protocols, radiation safety, radiation protection and basic patient care”. This definition makes this job seem easy but it is not an easy job at all. We do so much pushing, pulling, and lifting of patients it is physically exhausting. When I first chose this profession I did not think there would be this much to taking images of someone. It is more than just placing a patient somewhere and
Medical examination is a competitive field of work. That very few succeed in. In order to be a medical examiner, you need handwork and determination. Medical examination has a rich history, requires years of education and training, and come in various forms.
When I entered college I was uncertain of what my career would be. I chose to get my degree in Biology because I knew that it can open my path to many different fields in healthcare. Following the completion of my Bachelor in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio, I worked at a medical office and during those times I came across the field of Ultrasound. I was amazed and fascinated by the technology and the sight of a human heart. Echocardiography was created a unique opportunity for me to combine my interest in medicine and technology with concern for others.
After I graduated from high school, I was very tentative about choosing a majority because there were many choices that I could choose. I am like my father who is a very prudent person. I do not make any choice before I make a future vision about it. Then I decided to study radiology because if you have a bachelor degree in radiology, you have a very strong chance to get a job in Saudi Arabia, but I could not deny that it was a very challenging decision because of the risks of exposing to the radiology. I appreciate my family motivation that was my trigger to achieve my goals, and because of that I am now a very successful person.
I’m an aspiring Obstetrician-Gynecologist. This is a job that I’ve had in mind for a while now. I find it very interesting. It’s also a job where I know that my happiness is guaranteed. Just bringing babies into this world… That is what intrigues me about the job. When babies are born, they’re so fragile and small and cute… I just love it. It’s a blessing honestly. I want to be able to witness these blessings/miracles for the rest of my life. I think I would be successful at this job simply because it’s something that makes me ecstatic. When people find jobs that make them happy, I believe their mission is complete. Personally, I haven’t had any experiences in this field so far, but I have seen videos of a C-section happen on Twitter. As strange
I chose to research this occupation because I want to become a pediatrician. To become any type of doctor, a strong background in science and math is needed. These are my best and most enjoyed subjects. A doctor is similar to a detective, they have to look at the clues the patient’s body is giving them and use them to decipher the cause of the patient’s illnesses. I enjoy looking at problems, using clues and trying to find out the solution. I also enjoy looking after people and helping them get better. I choose a pediatrician specifically, because through my volunteer work at a summer camp, I learned that I really enjoy
