Why do you want to become a staff member?:As I've said earlier I wan't to become staff because I enjoy it, I love making friendships with other staff and also with players. Some friendships you make with staff are some really close and bond able friendships, You are always talking and asking each other for advice or help. It's something you can't get as well as if you are just a player. Also I want to become staff because I really want to rid the server of hackers. i can be opn the server 6/7 days a week normally for 6-8 hours. Sometimes less because I am on summer, but then again sometimes more, because I am on summer.I understand I wouldn't be able to play but I think being staff would be something I would really enjoy and to help me gain experience for the real world, This would be a bigger step for me but I think I could handle it. I think that being staff on here would give me experience for a real job and to give me people skills. I think another reason I want to be staff is because I am a dedicated person and I do everything to the best of my ability, I will be getting up to 6 hours per day, If not more, and I will be on atleast 6 days a week.
In "Working at McDonald's," Amitai Etzioni argues that it is unhealthy for high school students to work at fast food restaurants, such as McDonald’s because the jobs have a lack of structure, are non-educational, and result in poor academic performance.
“I’m working a part-time job at Wendy’s.” What is the first thought that comes to your head when you hear this sentence? Greasy fries, polyester uniforms, cheap food? What about the people who work there? Do you picture a first-time worker, a high school dropout, other pimple-faced workers taking your order? For some reason, in our society, we’ve associated low-quality workers with low-quality food? In his article “Working at Wendy’s” Joey Franklin paves the road towards a new perspective about those who come to work at Wendy’s. Instead of explicit points and unshakable statistics, and powerful calls to action, Franklin alternatively leads gently us through a process of revelation. Drawing from his own experiences working at his local Wendy’s Franklin gives an eye-opening view into the world behind the counter.
As the first generation in my family to go to college I learned the importance of education. I graduated from Benedictine University with a Bachelors in Science and an Environment Certificate. I became intregted by pharmacy when I started to spent countless hours at a hospital watching my grandfather go in and out of surgeries and treatments for cancer. Seeing the different medication being handed to him inspired me to understand biological and chemical processes that happened. A Pharmacists, role is to aim to help patients treat illness by introducing new developed treatment of medicines with a range of patients. I began to take special interest in memorizing all my grandfather’s medications and how practical and clinical aspect pharmacy worked.
As being currently employed with Chick-fil-A, it would be an honor to start a career with this company. It’s the culture and dynamic reputation that makes it stand out and more than just a fast food restaurant, Chick-fil-A goes the extra mile to get involved with the community through their service, events, and opportunities. From personal experience, the response that I take in from the public is amazing and it's a satisfying feeling for me. While working for Chick-fil-A I’ve had great experiences with taking an initiative, solving issues, communicating with customers and making decisions, which are a few reasons why I would be a good fit. Furthermore, I will be able to develop my skills to overcome new exciting challenges and learn more about
In the essay “Working at Wendy’s,” Franklin describes his experience working at Wendy’s. Society has developed a perception of fast food workers. In the beginning, Franklin was guilty of believing the stereotypes created by society. When Franklin first applied to Wendy’s, he describes that the manager only cared if Franklin was intelligent enough to spell his name correctly. Franklin learned to not judge anyone because of their jobs and how it felt to be judged. Franklin learned the different circumstances of why his coworkers worked at Wendy’s. Pathos, ethos, and logos are used in the story to prove that society has created stereotypes for employees of lower class jobs.
After walking out the doors of my job at Wendy’s for the last time, I wondered what else besides the money and free food did I actually gain. I did gain weight and I did gain experience for my resume but what other positive attributes did my first job at Wendy’s give me? So, as I sat down and pondered, I realized that I enjoyed working at Wendy’s because I learned time management, gained more ambition and became more mature.

The author of this particular article, Working at McDonalds, Amitai Etzioni is a sociology professor at the institute of George Washington University and the founder of the non-profit organization known as Communitarian Netwroks. In this essay he narrates his strong belief that working at any fast food chain restaurants is detrimental towards a students future. He validates his reasons that student do not benefit any long-term skills as taught in these restaurants. In Amitai Etzioni’s essay “Working at McDonald’s”, he argues that the jobs teens take up at popular fast food restaurants are detrimental to their education. His proposal was that working at these fast food restaurants negatively affects their education by encouraging teens to be more concerned about earning money than being successful in their studies. He claims that teens are getting these jobs to spend on petty items. Etzioni states that the routine and lack of creativity of the jobs are harmful and the hours in which teens work are long and interfere with students’ abilities to further their studies and complete assignments. He states that teens that have dropped out and are working at these restaurants have fallen into a stagnant condition
The Hooters restaurant has me wondering something. Richard, you mentioned the airline was notoriously sexists in the early days. This is so true. This transgender outrage has me wondering what is in store for the future? So, what if a transgender wanted to work at Hooters? I have seen some men that can put on makeup and wear heels better than I. What if, the transgenders started wanting "equal rights” and to work at Hooters. Sadly, I think it is only a matter of time before something like this happens. As far as what I have seen at Hooters, the clientele is nothing where they belong...but then again, what is the transgenders started going to the restaurant? I have seen/heard of stranger things.... would the courts rule in their favor?
In the article Working at McDonald's, author Amitai Etzioni expresses a strong viewpoint as to why working at McDonald's, and other establishments such as McDonald's is in fact hindering our youth more than benefiting them. He says that jobs such as these provide our youth with little to no fundamental skills that will propel them into a promising future, limits the room for initiative and creativity and also distracts them from their studies. He supports his claims with numerous studies and statistics, mostly from the early to mid 80's. My first impression from this article was that it was very one sided, and in many cases Etzioni's claims could be proven false. He seemed to start on a specific issue and then ended up a tad all over the place.

It was an August in 2011 when my family moved to the United States when I was twelve years old. Coming to this country, not knowing a single word of English is like going to an intensive war without artillery. On our way to Florida, we stopped to eat at burger king. Man! I felt that I was in a fancy restaurant. Back in my town, where they sell cheese burgers, the building was made of brick walls with no cement supporting the bricks and the roof of aluminum. Ordering was simple, writing down what you wanted. On the order hand, in burger king you have to verbally order your food. I can still remember what my mom was trying to say “Nome-row-Uno” with her hand doing signs. It was a struggle getting our order done.
