I also feel that it is very important to work as a team. Being in a team can be very helpful because you have different minds thinking together and someone might have an idea better for the patient. It also will help everyone in the group because it takes the stress off of just one person and you can spread it throughout the group so that way one person isn’t being worn out for their long shift.
Explain the importance of giving team members the opportunity to discuss work progress and any issues arising
In order to fully explore the nature of team work in healthcare it is importance to first look at what defines a team.A team can be defined as two or more people with specific roles working together to achieve a common purpose(Kalisch & Begeny, 2005). For
Last semester I used this competency a lot and this semester was no different. I was very fortunate to have amazing groups in my last two rotations. During my first rotation this semester, we were able to work as a team and help each other whenever someone needed an extra hand, and if someone was done with their patient’s care earlier, we would go around asking the rest of our group and the nurses if they needed help with something. During my second rotation, because we worked in pairs, I developed an even greater sense of teamwork. By the end of the rotation, we barely needed to communicate verbally, because we both knew what to do in regards to our patient care.
Teamwork and collaboration with other healthcare providers is very important. To function effectively there needs to be mutual respect, open communication, and shared decision making in the best interest of the patient. As a member of a team it is vital to know ones own strengths and limitations, this way patients receive the best care.
The opportunity to inspire or encourage an individual is vital and should not be taken lightly. The success of a team requires passion, desire and the ability to adapt to change from each individual. As a combined whole, each person contribute to the vision or goal adopted by any organization. NJ recommends to the novice nurse to perform each function with excellence without excuses (NJ, personal communication, 2016). Yes, common errors may occur, however when performing a task or following the guidelines set by any organization, the individual will be successful. In addition, collaborating with each other gives the opportunity for the group to acknowledge and respect other views in the caring of patients.
I think that teamwork is important in all communities. Especially everyone in the HealthCare Organizations have to recognize mistakes in the hospital which could be life-threatening; Caregiving Teams need to provide to patients with similar needs. Clinical Support Teams need to provide specific

For example, I enjoy solving problems and when faced with complex or moral issues, I first will look at the big picture and figure out how I might address any risks. This is why I often enjoy the team I work with because we are constantly looking for new ways to address client issues. This makes my role exciting and I truly enjoy working with my team as we often look to each other for advice and support and we are always open to new ideas from our
For a society to work, people within the society must work together. Therefore, forming group to work together has been a nature of human ever since the hunting and gathering society. After high school, I learned to become a coach for basketball team for young kids. I learned how to explain to the children to understand teamwork and responsibility at young age. For example, as coach I want to teach children the responsibility of getting good grades in school. I sit with them before each practice and gave a lecture of importance of getting good grades and being able to stay on the team. I than analyzed everyone grades to make sure the children are up to the standards of being on the team. For the ones that are failing or about to fail, I listened to their explanation, and then I worked on how for them to change their grades for them to stay on the team, or how to get back on the team if necessary.
I believe working as a team can enhance patient safety and alleviate stress. In my experience working as a nurse, by the employees working together helps the unit run smoothly. I have seen on many occasions where teamwork helps the patient out of a difficult medical situation or from having a respiratory or cardiac arrest. Teamwork should be a requirement to work in any organization. According to Human Resources for Health ([HRH], 2016), teamwork is when multiple individuals interact interdependently for a common cause. To achieve a successful team in the workplace employees must have a mutual respect for one another. Integrating services from multiple providers can increase and improve delivery of care. Teamwork in healthcare is imperative
When I worked at one of my job, it involved working with clients that have disabilities. We had to use collaboration with me and 4 other drivers. For example, we went on an outing at a fair. My supervisor talked to us verbally to give instructions to pick up clients from home and drop off at the fairgrounds. Then we drop off some clients back to the center. I then had to do this again. I was then told to pick up the clients at the center. As drivers we had to do this in a timely fashion because we had limited time at the fair.
Realizing that a group can become a high performance team is important. Accomplishing this goal is invaluable, advantageous and profitable. Once able to operate from a group to the high performing team is a great step into preparation into the big business world. Leaders and members must also realize not only how to accomplish this but that some problems will and can arise from different demographic characteristics and cultural diversity. That is if one is in such a group, which the probability would be quite high.
Past has always had an enormous influence on the future. This phenomenon is usually seen in a regular life; human behavioural changes. TEAM…Truly Effective Approach to Medicine. A healthy human body is the harmonious functioning of all its parts. Total patient care is physical, mental, and emotional care of the patient. Effective medicine is the joint efforts of each member of the healthcare team. The TEAM concept is fundamental to healthcare. My first exposure to the principle of a team was within my family of six. Quickly, I realized that the world did not revolve around me and I gained an understanding that my priorities did not come first. One of the most beneficial skills I obtained from my family was how to interact and work with different personalities. I learned the importance of compromise and to always put the needs of others before my own. These qualities most importantly have helped
