To maintain my busy school and sports life I need to uphold strong organisation skills. I often go straight from school to training and that means I need to pack my running gear which includes spikes, training shoes, training clothes and watch. If I forget one thing I will not be able to train that night. So it is vital that I remember everything and be organised. I also have to be organised with preparing nourishing and fuelling food to have at school. I prepare my foods the night before as I do not have enough time to do it in the morning and I have enough time to make food that will help to fuel my body. The consequence for me not preparing my food that night before are I will eat unhealthy food and ones that will not help to fuel my training.
If all kids quit extracurricular activities how would the rest of the team or band do without everyone? Most likely not very well. If you have a big impact on the team or even if you don’t you shouldn’t be quitting. If you don’t you would have to learn and that is just one more thing that you could learn to do. My article is “Should Parents Make Kids Stick With Extracurriculars?” I also think that parents should make their kids stick with extra activities.
My strengths in my One-Day Nutrition, is that I ate a healthy breakfast as I ate two scrambled eggs, hot black coffee, and a toast without toppings. I also measured the calorie intakes for my breakfast and lunch. This helped me make a better choice in choosing healthier foods to eat. Besides making a better choice it also helped me eat in smaller portions. I have a strong will in the day, in saying “no” to unhealthy foods, but unfortunately I do not in the evening.
Yes,I think kids should choose their own schedule. Some kids don't like the teachers they were put with. For instince say a student just walks in class and is talking to anther student and she/he is the only one who gets in trouble. They might think that teacher does not like them and they are going to want to change their schedule. But they will not be able to due to school rules.
Have you ever wondered how many students fall asleep in class each day? Children in hershey should have less time in school. Limited classroom requirements has led to the highest ranked students, a bettered balanced life, and a healthier body and brain. We could be like Finland the number one ranked school in the world.
The only issue that stands in the way of this privilege becoming a possibility in school, is a short lunch. Our lunch runs from 12:15 to 12:45; that is a 30 minute lunch period. If we were to lengthen that to about an hour to and hour and a half, that means that we would not get out of school until about 3:50pm. “French students have a two-hour lunch break from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. During their two-hour lunch break, they can eat at home or at a restaurant”. (Johnson). However french schools do not get out of school until 4:30 pm. On the other hand, students probably would not mind getting out later if it means that they get to leave during
I should have paid attention to the time on that one eventful day where I thought I would be leaving the house late for school. There had honestly been a number of choices the previous day that created consequences for that morning. The first choice arose when I decided to try to accomplish everything all at once. That idea meant that if I could complete everything I could have extra time the following day. That is true, but all the work took forever to end. It was around 11:00 pm when I completed it. My action led me to go to bed later than I usually would. Second, I allowed outside distractions to win. The distractions, such as glancing at the TV and even staring the wall, wasted time needed to finish my homework and tasks. Finally, even
School sports have been a part of our everyday life for many years; however, people think it is having a negative effect on our academics. Athletics cause many injuries and without them it could make students safer. Therefore, districts should eliminate sports to provide better grades for students, save money for the classrooms, and give children time to do other activities.
When someone decides to do something for themselves, they find it much more rewarding. There's none of the irrational anger of being forced to do something they don't wish to do, but instead satisfaction. If one really wants to get something done, they'll work towards getting it done, while they wouldn't if someone made them do it. If that's so, why should extracurricular activities become mandatory? They would no longer be "extracurricular," but rather just another hour spent at school learning more of the things students have to learn anyway. It wouldn't make sense to do this. As students, we should not have to do extracurricular activities.
Sports and the general physical activities have been associated with a plethora of benefits. Not so much in correlation with education though. The debate on sports and academic performance relates as to whether sports affect academic performance positively or negatively. Mostly, academics, especially in high school and colleges, require an enormous time commitment. In the same way, sports demand time commitment. Apparently, academics and sports run linearly and either would consume the time of the other. Such would be the argument put forth by the claimants of the negative effects of sports on academic performance. The opponents to the positive correlation of sports and academic performance ground their arguments largely on the time commitment that the two require claiming that sports would consume a student’s time for study hence affecting their academic performance. Proponents of a positive correlation between sports and academic performance summon an extensive range of evidence showing that students who participate in sports perform well in academics. The proponents’ arguments are fetched from the proven benefits of exercise which improve a student’s overall well-being and motivate their academic performance. Opponents would, however, argue that the studies that find athletes and sports persons good at academics do not show how such correlations occur in that other factors could be the actual causes of the correlation and not sports in themselves. Regardless, opponents to the claim that sports affect academic performance positively cannot deny that sports affect the overall well being of any human being. As such, there is no denying that sports affect academic performance positively where a balance among the two is maintained.
When it comes to education, it is one of the most essential pieces to having a successful life in today’s society. And for this reason, there are a large percentage of emphasis placed on schools for this reason alone. In society, people feel that school and education should be taken advantage of and every child should attend school daily with no excuses. It’s a known fact that students who miss consecutive days out of school, tends to fall back in grades as well as learning the classwork at hand. County government, state government, and the federal government has made laws for states all around the globe pertaining to the number of days students should miss school within a school year’s time. In doing this, it will ensure that students will be accounted for and help them to be successful throughout the school year. By state law, attendance in a public school, private school and home school program is required for children at the ages of six to their sixteenth birthday (Gwinnett Public School, 2017).
The reason for this is because being organized provides people with a sense of security as well aids people to organize how they structure their everyday life. Time management is a central factor that can relieve stress. An organized schedule allows preparation time for the individual to plan and have enough time to achieve what they need to accomplish. For instance, in football there is a total of four quarters and during this period the players have time to complete the game as well incorporate additional advertisements and commercials. The concept of the four quarters demonstrates time management as it provides a structure of what needs to be done within that given time. Furthermore, structure and time management are extremely important when it comes to trying to relieve stress. This can be displayed through the article, Decreasing Students' Stress through Time Management Training: An Intervention Study as the study involved undergraduate students that are analysed before and after a training class that they are told to attend. It is measured through various studies, one being a scale that see the sights of time management behaviours and how it corresponds to the perceived stress scale. The test also focuses on procrastination and how it is detrimental to one ability to learn effectively. It revealed that time management reduces stress as it allows the individual to
Sports programs have been an integral part of all schools. They support the academics of the school and therefore foster success in life. These programs are educational and help produce productive citizenship. They help students experience and build skills that may help them in their future, like interpersonal and time management skills. Education may kindle the light of knowledge, but sports help to maintain the proper physique. Sports are also an important means of entertainment and a use for energy after long hours of study. Sports increase a student’s performance not only in the classroom but also in their life.
Do students in school ever get overwhelmed with school work? Over time, schools have developed extracurricular activities, such as sports, clubs, academies, and so on. These activities are not a part of school curriculum, but it is part of the educational experience for students because of the benefits they have. In an article, “International Journal of Humanities and Social Science Invention,” the author states that “Adolescents have a significant amount of free time available to them and research demonstrates that they are increasingly capable of self-directed actions in their search for identity”(Annu and Sunita). In joining after school activities, allows students to take a break and relax from going to school for almost eight hours

Extracurricular activities have a lasting impact on students that extend far beyond the high school years. Participating in these activities offers students the chance to try something new and learn what they most love to do. Being exposed to different sports, clubs and opportunities also broadens a person's horizons and opens up their mind to new and different ways of seeing the world. This exposure helps them learn to get along with others, problem solve and work together in a group setting. In addition, choosing sports as an extracurricular activity keeps teens focussed, healthy and fit. All students should be required to take an extracurricular activity outside of school because it brings balance into their lives.
