No one is born good or evil; it is one's environment and the people they encounter in life which makes them good or evil. A lot of time it is not the individual's fault of the way they are, they might have seen so many bad doings that, they are use to it and might think that it is right. One is not born with a vision of knowing what is wrong and what is right in life, but learns when something happens to
There are many theories why people could do evil things. Is it because they were abused or had a rough childhood? What if the society isn’t to blame at all for their behavior? (Olivia Goldhill “Are Some Humans born evil?”) People say people are born evil or people who are born good turn evil. This topic has been studied for many years and many people have different opinions about it. A person may say they don’t believe that people are born evil. Another person may think that people are born evil or good people turn evil. An example is babies aren’t born evil. Their minds are wonderful. Their minds are innocent and they don’t know much. A person can’t possibly be born evil. It really depends sometimes how a person is raised or what that person experiences in life.
People are not born evil, evil is learned. When people like Joe have grown up with goodness surrounding them and suddenly experience evil, they begin to learn evil. Joe learned
Every human being is born differently. Not every man is born evil, as suggested by Machiavelli. He believed that every man was ungrateful, deceitful, and avoided danger in search of his personal gain, (Doc. 1). He may have been
Would these people be considered evil and if so how did they become this way? Were they born this was or was it some sort of external forces that led them to become evil? Well according to Hsun Tao, another Chinese philosopher, humans were born of an evil nature and with some sort of guidance from a teacher could learn to become good. He believed that what is natural to human beings is desire and desire inevitably leads to conflict; since this is evil then so is the nature the results within. Yet referring back to the young child and well example, why would most people do the right thing? Is it because they are taught to be good again is it something that is deeper? However, another Chinese philosopher, Kao Tzu, beleived that human nature is neither inherently good nor inherently evil but rather a "blank slate" that could be conditioned in both directions. When an individual is born he/she has no ideas or preexisting behaviors but that through life experiences and external forces, such as family and friends, that influence ones human nature. Or according to John Locke "the mind at birth is a blank white sheet of paper on which experience writes."
A straightforward question. Are humans naturally good or evil? A simple question that has many of different answers and a question that may require deep thinking. For me, both sides I was drawn to. My household is christian, so I thought of the religious answer, but I also thought that people are born good and their environment and decisions can cause them to be evil. This is what I came up with.
Since the beginning of time there has been confusion about every aspect of life and with confusion comes a number of questions we cannot completely answer or forget. How did we transform from one creature to another? Why are people so violent? Are we inherently good or evil? These are questions that have been asked for centuries, and have taken ever longer to possibly answer. It might be numerous decades from now before they finally answer these questions but, nevertheless many people are trying by using evidence, theories, faith, and science to answer these questions as accurately as possible. Mainly the question about whether we are innately innocent or not. Most people, say humans are inherently evil, that there is evil in all of us. That could be the reason why kids enjoy watching ants succumb when they burn them with reflected rays of sunlight. However, many believe that we are born good with a clean slate and that it is society of whom changes that. I believe that we are born sinful/evil and that society influence us to be good. The facts have proven humans to be innately evil through genetics, control, and mistreatment.
The question “What makes us who we are?” has perplexed many scholars, scientists, and theorists over the years. This is a question that we still may have not found an answer to. There are theories that people are born “good”, “evil”, and as “blank slates”, but it is hard to prove any of these theories consistently. There have been countless cases of people who have grown up in “good” homes with loving parents, yet their destiny was to inflict destruction on others. On the other hand, there have been just as many cases of people who grew up on the streets without the guidance of a parental figure, but they chose to make a bad situation into a good one by growing up to do something
Human nature is a topic some people are torn about. Are humans born good or bad? Or are there more factors that need to be involved with that conclusion? William Gay's opinion on human nature is that all humans are born bad, that deep inside there is evil. Some people may agree or disagree with Gay's opinion. In psychologist Samantha Smithstein's article, "Are We Born Good (or Evil)?", Smithstein states, "We are
People are not essentially good or evil, where they come from, how they were brought up, the things they have experienced and seen, will most likely determine whether that person is good or evil. However, certain situations can change that person's learned good or evil, this is called situationally created good/evil. In William Golding’s Lord of the Flies, the children have been raised through what society would call a good environment. When the children are left on their own with no adult supervision, we see dramatic changes in the children when they have to create their own form of savagery to survive. However, this goes sourly wrong when some of the children get caught up in their desperate situation and start to perceive things on how
A new born baby is not born with sinful thoughts. Babies are axiomation of purity and innocence . Experiences such as a bad childhood, neglect by parents, abuse, power changes humans into being evil. How someone is nurtured also determines if they will become good or evil. Ego, lust, jealousy, betrayal, failure, and greed are some causes of evil. One is not born evil.
Every one has asked this question " Is human nature good or essentially bad?". There are different types of people in this world, for example there are good and bad people. I think that human nature is good but every person has evil in them. Weather it's easily detected or hidden deep inside of them. In the book " Lord of the Flies" there are two main characters named Ralph and Jack. Ralph and Jack both start out good but as time goes by their good seems to descend. Towards the end of the book when Jack turned evil, " Ralph gazed at the green and black mask before him, trying to remember what Jacked looked like". People seem to change from evil to good or the opposite depending on who they are with. For example in the book "Lord of the Flies"
Could someone be born evil? This question may sound inaccurate but could it happen? Our body produces a gene called monoamine oxidase (MAOA) when we produce low amounts of it, it could result in antisocial and violent behavior but this won't make us evil what could become disastrous is if we mixed low amounts of this gene with the wrong environment and how we were raised. It has been found that psychopaths produce low amounts of this gene mixed with their lives upbringing. This may have been what caused Bob Ewell to be an abusive and evil man. He most likely produced low amounts of this gene with the unsanitary conditions he lived in. Even if this could be the case it seems very unlikely.
This question has been repeatedly asked throughout humanity, and can be answered many different ways.In my opinion, Humans are born neutral. We’d like to think that children are born innocent and virtuous but, that's simply not true.We think that if we protect them from the dangers of the world then they’ll live a happy and carefree life but, that's also untrue.I believe that children are born with a particular type of temperament system that changes from person to person. This system filters out our emotions towards whats going on around us.
My favorite channel on television is Investigation Discovery. It consists of shows that are all about crimes, murders, and serial killers. When I watch these shows the first questions that pops in my mind are what made them this way, and how was their upbringing? So, I guess wondering these questions I believe that a person is good or bad based on their experiences. Like if person was raised with a stable family, good morals, and knows right from wrong based on experiences they go through I believe they will turn out to be good people. For the most part people around a good environment will most likely follow their surrounding, and turn out to be good people. I think if someone was raised in an unstable upbringing, raised by criminals, or
