Extreme cold will result in freezing rivers and ice jams. When these thaw out it will result in flooding. No matter where the freezing takes place, the after effect will always cause flooding which will have adverse effects on crops and vegetation. Extreme cold can cause frostbite and hypothermia. Strong winds along with extreme cold makes the conditions feel a lot worst. The high winds take away bod heat, making the body feel cold a lot faster. According to the New York State Climate Office, extreme cold events in New York State occur regularly and are most common between October and March. The northern states are the areas that are most susceptible to extreme temperatures. This is an acceptable risk. Despite the cold temperatures, you still have many people that venture into the cold to fight the freezing conditions.

For most people they don't like school. People look towards those nice long summer breaks. however a lot of things happen over the summer, the main thing that happens is that students tend to forget everything they learned during the previous school year. By the end of the the first month of summer, all that knowledge has leaked out of the brain. Then when the students return in the fall, the first month of school is wasted by re-teaching students what they should have already learned last year. It would be beneficial for students if every school went to year round school

Imagine a school year that gave the students one week off after every quarter and every Friday off. Does this sound exciting and rich with possibilities? Then ask the superintendent of the school district to consider year round school with only four days per week.First, students would not forget what they learned over the long summer. Next, parents would not have to get day care except on Fridays instead of the whole summer. One call that gives everyone around the school district a sigh of relief that they can curl up back in their comfy beds and sleep for an extra two or more hours. Some may wonder how one call makes everyone’s day so much better: it is because it is a call from the school saying there is no school today due to icy conditions. Upon hearing this one can be sure that their phone will be buzzing with ones friends asking what they are doing today, or maybe one snoozes through all the texts and continues to curl up in one’s warm blankets, with dogs heating ones feet. No matter what one chooses to do there always seems to be a trend as one gets older. This trend is that in the grades kindergarten through fifth grade, children love snow days to stay outside and play; then in grades sixth through ninth, children love snow days to stay inside and watch movies; finally children tenth through twelfth grade, children love snow days to again go outside and play.

The schedule would have students attend school year-round with several three-week breaks rather than the traditional school calendar, which begins in the fall and ends in the spring. Schools are transitioning to a year round schedule to improve the learning environment, although it’s proven to not improve anything. I do not think that schools should be year round. Year round school disrupts summer plans, costs too much on administration with minimal outcome, and increases student burnout.

Year round schools should be implemented to eliminate the summer slump, decrease school burnout, and increase teacher job satisfaction.

Year Round Schooling Year round schooling is not helpful. Some thing it will prepare kid for the future but others may think that their is no point because kids should be able to enjoy summer. There is almost difference between the two calendars. Also they both basically have the same amount of breaks.

The three-month summer vacation block may sound great for planning vacations, but in reality, it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. By having one large vacation block, parents have to compete in the workplace to get the appropriate time off and travel is more expensive because everyone else is traveling.
