Many people are lazy, they waste their time on the couch eating chips and watching ESPN or The Real Housewives of whatever city. There are also people that have been led down the wrong path and have faced a life of crime and sorrow. Life is short, the people of this world should not live in it afraid of the law or their community but join it! Teenagers right after highschool, wether or not if they drop out or graduate, show be enrolled in a mandatory service to get a better work ethic and a sense of love for their country. Initially, teenagers should been rolled in a civil service program to boost their work ethic. Many veterans have died serving this great nation they call their home; any son would be proud to call that man his father. They showed a great amount of patriotism and heroism to take a bullet for the red, white, and blue. If teens were forced to join a service program it would teach them to: never take their eyes off of the flag during the National Anthem, respect their president, and never lose faith in what they think is right. I once knew this old verteran, he lived down the street from me and sat on his porch every day, looking onto his yard, at the flowers. I visited him every Tuesday, after I was chasing my brother down the street and he tought me how to catch him even faster. We talked for 45 minutes each time, and the whole time he talked about his time in the service, his tactics, and his love for his country. He said that even now in his old age he would take twice as many bullets for this country then when he was enrolled. Teens can experience this love as well if they create this civil service
Teens Should Have A Job There are bountiful upsides of having a job as a teenager, like getting paid and an actual paycheck, learning skills and life lessons, and so many other things. Teen jobs can be a lot, but when one realizes the benefits of them, work will seem a lot more enticing. Jobs are undoubtedly one of the most important aspects of life. So, starting off early as a teen will make having a job in the future effortless. In the article “The Best Extracurricular May Be An After-School Job” by Pamela Paul, she talks about the positives of working as an adolescent and some things she learned working as one.
Mandatory military service can help promote national unity. First, it will allow Millennials to learn and train together, creating a shared experience and a conversation starter of serving in the military. Then there is the general understanding of what life actually is in the army and what will have to be done in order to protect the country and yourself. Millennials will be able to understand and adapt an appreciation for the sacrifices that many people in the military make for their country. More importantly, it’ll bring everyone together as a country, especially with a threat from other nations. When the nations do
Even though mandatory military service is has already been mandated in some countries, but it shouldn't be mandated in any other countries. There should be freedom given to these young adults that recently graduated teens. Mandating military service is a heartbreaking mandatory law to families.
One idea is teens can work on their social skills and eventually their social skills will be able to open up opportunities for them. A person could be the smartest person in the world, but if they had
There are many teens' in the world that do not want to serve in the military, so they should each have their own choice. Some teens are very weak, lazy, and will not do the right work for the military. If a person does not want to serve in the military, they will not even try to fight. If there are several people made to be in the
Youth unemployment is a major problem in the United States and has decreased in the past five years. Many teenagers are unable to find jobs, so they cannot gain experience in the workforce.
Public service rates are at a high right now, if we force young adults into serving I see
The topic of mandatory national service has been around for years now, and there will always be arguments on whether it should be enforced or not. Some may say that it takes away our freedom, but is it not what gives us freedom in the first place? The United States’ military, national service, as well as community service is based on volunteers. That is what makes this country great, but there are less volunteers as years go by. Crime increases, streets are not safe anymore, Americans are oblivious to what is happening around the world. There are so many opportunities to give back to the country, yet, not many care. Today’s generation is based on social trends, and self-gratification. There is also the fact that many young people do not know what to do with their life after high school, some continue to college or focus on work, others do not work nor study. Therefore, all young men and women should be required to give two years to national service because it can help solve problems as well as build the community back together.
Some people are deathly scared of going to the military and find that even just helping takes too much work. There are too many lazy people in this world. We don’t want to have them be the ones that we are counting on. We should have it where you are in the military or you are out there helping because you want to. Making everybody go into the military before college is just going to make even less people go to college.
In our great prospering nation, nowadays there's a large amount of immature, spineless, arrogant people who need to be kicked in the freaking bum and grow the hell up. Why do we assume that young people today truly know what discipline, and sacrifice, and moral striving and overcoming challenges means in life? Well, from the findings of Williams, an American political writer, “three-quarters of high school students in America’s inner cities have dropped out of high school” because they sense that “a high school diploma serves them no purpose” (Williams). Making compulsory military service is necessary for demonstrating what it truly means to overcome obstacles, which greatly benefits the future generations of America. When younger people conquer challenges, it gives them a sense of pride and real self-esteem upon their upcoming
Students should not be required to complete 100 hours of community service to graduate high school for many reasons. Some of which include the lack of extra free time, inability to go somewhere, and the potential to have a higher dropout rate.
Jobs are very time-consuming. If a teenager works and goes to school, he will probably not have time to join a gang or get into fights. Nowadays more and more employees are getting drug-tested at their jobs. If a teenager likes his job or needs to work, he will not do drugs because he will get fired. Furthermore, if a teenager receives a paycheck he will spend his earned money instead of stealing. A job can lead a teenager to a better lifestyle and a healthier life.
Discussing about volunteering to teenagers should be the first step for a better life, since teenagers are the future of tomorrow and they will leave a mark from yesterday. Volunteering has been such an important matter, that schools in many countries around the world established that 12th grade students will need certain hours of community service in order to graduate. But the frequent answers all the schools are getting are “Why do I need to volunteer? I have better things to do!” What people are forgetting is that each one of them is part of a community, a community that is not perfect and that the government sometimes forgets about their problems or needs, because obviously the government needs to take care of other things that require more attention. People are not only helping others, they are also helping themselves (Volunteering).
One of the many reasons 18 year olds should have at least one year in civil service is because they would be able to appreciate the work of people that chose to that kind of job in the first place because nowadays Americans just take everything for granted and become indifferent to the things around them, there is thousand of people being executed in the Middle East but almost no Americans do anything, back when 9/11 happened Americans got real upset and a lot of them decided to join the army nowadays we have less than 500,000 soldier in the army, all in all
The best benefit from working is to have money, and it also gives you something to occupy your time. This lets them learn the value of the dollar and what it’s worth. They will learn how to get money, and how you have to work for it. They will start “understanding how to be smart about what they spend and knowing that money is earned, not granted.”(Ranae). Teenagers can start appreciating the value of money, and that it isn’t always easy to make a few dollars.
