The space exploration of Apollo was the chance to achieve something that mankind has not achieved before. The idea was to increase the space exploration program. The significance of the exploration is achieving things in space that no man had achieved before. Landing on the moon would be an achievement that no person has ever achieved before. This took a great deal of research on the part of engineers for building the ship. In addition it required years of training for the astronauts involved in the missions. Engineers had to build a ship that was capable of a taking off and entering space in a safe manner. In addition the ship needed to have the ability to enter the earth’s atmosphere from space and land safely. The motivation behind
In doing research on space exploration and specifically the Apollo Missions, I have learned a lot about the purpose and significance behind this exploration. The goals set by NASA for these missions was to “establish technology to meet other national interests in space, achieve preeminence in space for the United States and develop man's capability to work in the lunar environment”. The motivation to get a man to the moon (Apollo 11) had a lot to do with the Cold War with the Soviet Union. President John F. Kennedy gave a speech that was aimed to convince the people that it was time to advance and play our part in the world. Thousands of people worked on this project, but it was really a national effort. Several questions arose as each of the
Living in Tennessee we are very close to Huntsville, Alabama where the rockets were developed for the space program. There is a huge museum in Huntsville where there is a Saturn 5 rocket standing up, and in a building, next to it there is one disassembled laying on its side. These are both large man made vehicles that allowed men to go to the moon. In the museum, there is a space capsule that has return from space all burned and scorched from reentry of Apollo 16.
There was much significance of the Apollo Moon Landings. The discovery led to advances in all areas of science, technology, astronomy,
The significance came in reaching the moon and learning about creation. We have made discoveries on the moon so the Apollo missions
The U.S. was so focused on the space race because it would show the world that the U.S. was the greatest. Having men on the moon would show unequal strength from the U.S. Landing on the moon would show other countries, especially Russia, that we could make big decisions and carry them out.
The motives for the Apollo Missions wasn’t very original when we think about it. It was based upon the need to beat someone else. As President, Kennedy wanted to make a better reputation for America, so he created NASA. Since the US had such a bad streak before Kennedy, I suppose they asked this question: why wasn’t the rocket working? They started to borrow things from others, such as the Russians, who had had great success so far. They didn’t stop there, but tried to make the shuttles even better. With the success of several orbits, NASA looked for a more adventurous endeavor: getting on the moon. I love how they never settle for just one thing, they always push the limits. There were deaths and injruies along the way, but that happens in
The Apollo missions began because of political reasons not scientific reasons. There was a total of 12 astronauts that explored the moon. There were six different landing sites and they were located in the central part of the moon. This means there is much more of the moon to explore. They spent twelve and a half cumulative days on the surface of the moon, 3.4 were spent outside. Because of the different Apollo missions there we much has been discovered. Because of the studies, of the craters they were able to determine the age of the moon. They were able to learn about core and crust formation. The moon has many similarities to the earth. Through seismology studies they discovered that the moon has moonquakes like the earth has earthquakes
Apollo 1 was a big disaster for NASA, and tragic for their mission of going to space. Many things could have been prevented from the accident ever occurring, and no one would have died. The disaster of Apollo 1 was the first accident for NASA, because of them not looking at each equipment
Vaccination safety and necessity has been debated for years. Vaccine supporters claim they are completely safe and necessary for everyone. People against vaccines question their safety and feel it should be a personal choice. While some vaccines are for personal safety, others are for the safety of society and should be given to the majority of people to avoid previously eradicated diseases from coming back and killing off thousands, even millions of people. Vaccinations are an asset to our healthcare and help to keep us safe from many deadly diseases, including polio, measles, tetanus and meningitis.
As it is already known, Dawn is what is known as a space probe that was initially launched by NASA in 2007 during the month of September with the objective of being able to study two protoplanets of the asteroid belt out of three that are known. Those protoplanets are known as Vesta and Ceres. It is orbiting currently its second target, Ceres, which is a dwarf planet. Dawn is the very first spacecraft to orbit two different extraterrestrial bodies, the very first spacecraft to go to either Ceres or Vesta, and also the very first in being able to visit a type of dwarf planet, arriving on Ceres in the year 2015 on the month of March, just a few months prior to New Horizons flying by Pluto on the month of July within the same year in 2015.
The Apollo Space program was developed to enable man to walk on the moon. The lessons learned from the two previous NASA programs, Mercury and Gemini were instrumental in gaining the ability to meet that goal. The impetus for this goal was President Kennedy’s speech to Congress in 1961 that we must have an American sent to the moon and safely back home by the end of that decade. The Soviet Union had already sent a man into space, and there were national security fears because of the cold war. What NASA scientists wanted to know from the Mercury program was could humans survive in space for an extended period of time. Through the Gemini program, they found answers to questions about orbital maneuvers, docking techniques, and spacewalks. Apollo
The motivation behind the Apollo missions was the national goal of “landing a man on the moon and returning him safely to the Earth”. The first questions asked were about the funding of these missions, which were decided on by congress. Other questions that were considered and answered concerned the safety of the crew as well as engineering a spaceflight that contained everything necessary to make these missions successful. How were they going to get to the Moon? The Kennedy Space Center had to correct many equipment problems, test spacecrafts in controlled environments, and review the plan over and over. In order to land on the Moon, NASA had to learn about the moon. They used satellites to take pictures and data that would then bring it back
The topic I chose was the Apollo missions. Space exploration has always fascinated me. The Apollo missions were the first manned missions to the moon. There were a few different motivations in the purpose of these missions. A few of those purposes were to beat others to the moon, establish technology to advance other space interests, carry out exploration of the moon, and develop man’s ability to work in a lunar environment. All together there were 12 missions launched with 6 being successful in reaching the moon.
The themes that made this film so popular, is the fact that the motifs represented in the movie actually appear in the real life beauty pageant industry. We are shown the beauty industry’s influence on women through commercialism, and furthermore, nationalism. This film suggests the modern advancements of beauty standards overtime through issues regarding identity, self esteem, appearance and body image, and the objectification of women through social stereotyping. From the advent of American Beauty Pageantry in 1921 to the current state of the industry in 2017, the culture of competition has shifted with the identity of modern women through the metamorphosis of the pageant world in its guidelines for competition, the effects on the contestants, and the economic nature of the organization itself.
‘Lord Fox!’ yelled a voice. The strident voice rang through Lord Fox’s head, bouncing and echoing all the way until he snapped back into consciousness.
