Canvas is a program I have various forms of interest in being effective at navigating. First and foremost, the delivery of my masters degree was through Canvas, making my understanding of it essential for success. Second, Canvas is used in my current position, so it benefited me to understand the user experience since I'm currently working to build out the course shell for my culinary classes. Third, Canvas is often used in online education, which is an area of employment I am interested. Exploring Canvas, using it effectively, and understanding it's capabilities provides many levels of professional purpose.
My progress towards this goal has been marked in odd ways and very incomplete in others. Some initial examples of learning Canvas are
The Eviction is a painting by Jacob Lawrence made in the year 1935. Jacob Lawrence was one of the leading figurative painters of the twentieth century. He was an African-American painter who was famous for his paintings about the African-American life. Lawrence spent most of his childhood in Harlem in the years of Great Depression. This inspired him with a theme that he used mostly throughout his career. Lawrence was inspired by the artistic and cultural energy that fueled the Harlem Renaissance. He studied visual arts at a very early stage and created The Eviction when he was only seventeen years old in the year 1935. His painting, The Eviction, displays a common Harlem incident. The painting portrays a black family which consists four individuals is being forcefully evicted out of their house by a white authoritative figure who is most likely the landlord. The painting shows how all the things that was owned by the family is being thrown out on the street and the
In Art 101, we have been studying various art works but our group was intrigued by chapter twenty. This chapter is about the history between the eighteenth century and nineteenth century. We discuss the classical look for paintings and architecture. We also see how they develop through the following years. I find it most appealing with how many cultures created such art I will explain later. With European culture increasing with ideas, it created the art world we have today. There are three specific paintings I studied in chapter twenty that I enjoyed the most.
Inspire the children to create! Read The Dot or Ish by Peter H. Reynolds to them. Show them pictures of relief prints that might peak their interest. Draw inspiration from the outdoor: explore the colours, flowers, bugs, birds, and bees of springtime, basks in the gloomy colours of rain or the bright whiteness of the snow. Present them with actual articles to look at, like flowers, leaves, branches, fruit, and vegetables. I suggest demonstrating the final step of the activity to get the children excited, as pulling the paper away to reveal a print seems to be the most appealing for young children.
The first idea “Canvas” conveys is the freedom to choose and do whatever we as humans want to do.
At the beginning of sixth grade there are different struggles for everybody, my main struggle was technology. I didn't understand Powerschool, or TCSD Live, and most of all I did not understand Canvas. Canvas confused me a lot, in class I often got behind because I didn’t know what the teacher was talking about. I figured Canvas would always be hard and I would never understand.

Before I started the MCBS Program I have always had a passion for web design, marketing and graphic design; I even took drawing classes to enhance my drawing skills to be able to have a strong graphic aspect. I’ve always been an inquisitive person so the eager to learn has always been natural to me.
As we discussed, I find the Canvas technology related to using data-driven instruction fascinating and an amazing opportunity for the future. In addition, testing is also a major concern; enhancing student achievement would be a top priority for the person in this job. With this in mind, I would love to foster a safe, engaging, learning environment and implement AISD's tools while honing my own abilities though PLC's and professional development .
I started off by drawing Australia, I thought it was very important to start off with the country that I was most familiar to. I have also been told that Australia is part of Asia which gave me an understanding of where Asia could be. My most detailed area is around the middle east because I had to draw a map of all the countries that are represented by the middle east last year while also my extended family all live in the middle east. Russia is the biggest country in the world which means recognising it on a map and then drawing it isn't at all difficult. I used to go to a Japanese school in which I was supposed to know everything there is to know about Japan.
On Monday, September 26th, I worked in Crystal’s office and went canvassing. While in her office, I sorted through a long list of people and individually wrote down the name and numbers of those who signed up for canvassing. I then called every person who signed up and invited them to the canvassing party that took place on Saturday from 2-5pm. This was my first time making phone calls. Since I did not prepare a script, the first phone call I made was a little rough. As I continued to make phone calls, I started to feel more comfortable and knew exactly what to say. Most of the people I called, either didn’t answer or had other plans. This task helped me discover a hidden talent; I am good at talking to people over the phone.
I selected Engaging the Adolescent Mind: Through Visual Problem Solving to analyze for its curricular components written by a veteran art educator named Ken Veith. Veith’s goal was to create a book for art educators to use as a resource to initiate visual problems skills and incorporate the importance of critique. Inspired by art theorist Elliot Eisner, Veith (2005) believes writing a curricula that transforms consciousness opens the door to the imagination and is necessary to inhabit an environment conducive for learning (2). Eisner argues a similar thought, the school should be the environment to create a culture to prepare students to use their imagination and explore the senses through art. Furthermore Eisner expresses, (2006) “A major aim of art education is to promote the child’s ability to develop his or her mind through the experience that the creation or perception of expressive form makes possible” (24). This form of consciousness allows the student to awaken an interest in the world around them. In other words, when teachers create a curriculum, which provide the opportunity and space for students to develop a visual language, they are nurturing the student’s mind (Blasco & Veith 2014; Eisner, 1996; Eisner, 2006).

Module 3 Assignment. PGCEi participant Just as there are multiple intelligences, there are several styles of learning. There are visual learners who prefer to learn by observation. Auditory learners who prefer to learn through listening and kinesthetic learners who prefer to learn through moving, doing and touching. A good teacher should try and incorporate all
"A picture can paint a thousand words." I found the one picture in my mind that does paint a thousand words and more. It was a couple of weeks ago when I saw this picture in the writing center; the writing center is part of State College. The beautiful colors caught my eye. I was so enchanted by the painting, I lost the group I was with. When I heard about the observation essay, where we have to write about a person or thing in the city that catches your eye. I knew right away that I wanted to write about the painting. I don’t know why, but I felt that the painting was describing the way I felt at that moment.
As a photography major, it was never clear to me on why I had to take a drawing class. I dreaded each class because of the known fact that I didn’t possess the skills to be a good drawer. When speaking to friends and family, I would always complain to them saying, “I’m going to fail this class. I have no idea why I have to take these drawing classes.” As the quarter went on and the more I learned about the different drawing techniques such as the use of lighting to create interesting shadows or the use of color to create a sense mood and emotion, I began to realize the parallels that drawing and photography have.
