Albert Einstein was quoted as saying " There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle. A miracle as defined by Websters dictionary Is A surprising and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore considered to be the work of a divine agency. A highly improbable or extraordinary event, development, or accomplishment that brings very welcome consequences," At some point in our lives We all have had to deal with "Consequences" One such example would be having hang over as consequence of too many drinks at a company Christmas party. the one were you told your boss what you relay think of him. an nothing short of a blessing. I mention this only because prior to my meting Frey Vollen. .I only thought miracles existed Only in the biblical sense Or during super bowls. Frey Vollen has been an icon figure of the 60's & 70's with ties to many of the underground movements. And the early members of what would become arguably the largest an most notorious motorcycle club in the US. Somehow he remained a virtual unknown throughout the turbulent times of the 60's and 70's It wasn’t until the end of a lengthy interstate inter-agency drug investigation It gad long been suspected, although never prove that he gad orchestrated and directed what was at the time Americas largest lsd production and distribution network, spanning coast to coast. And later internationally. Shortly after he by going underground and disappearing. His writings described by some as psychedelic drug proselytizing while circuitously intertwined with some of the earliest ideas of social Social constructionism convoluted with theory of empiricism juxtaposed to phenomenology. As part of his thesis antithesis synthesis along with complex mathematical equations to formulate what he believed could if applied
The case that I found is about a California medical center who has gone to court because of violating a patient`s privacy by releasing her medical information without her consent. Now they are fighting battle in court whether or not if the hospital officials have the right to share patient`s medical record unknown to the patient`s. But according to the Shasta Regional Medical Center, they said that the patient`s has waived her rights by giving her health information to a news agency, but the patient`s lawyers argue that they stay do not have the right to share the patient`s records (Patient Privacy, HIPAA Violation Case Argued in Calif., 2014). The patient`s was diagnosed with a form of malnutrition, and her medical records were sent to hundreds of hospital staff members.
Imagine a slimy swamp like place where only the most horrid monsters with the most disgusting features live, this is the fen. Now imagine A wonderful bright beautiful hall that’s almost castle like, these are the two elements of the story Beowulf a New Telling.
Debashish Mridha, an American physician, philosopher, poet, and author said, “Whatever happens in life happens to make you stronger. So fear not, accept it as a gift from the universe. Use the event to capture the essence of this journey we call life.” People get stronger from the journey not by reaching their destination. People should see that sometimes the journey is the best and most learning part of the trip not the destination. Everyone has a destinations that can include accomplishments, geographical destinations, death, the ultimate destination. Some learn and take the wisdom and experiences from the journey, and not the destination.
The Great Heorot stretches high into the skies and the golden roof can be seen a day's trip away, but in the night no man dares to be seen there for the fear of Grendel. Beowulf: A New Telling is a good book to read if you are interested in the battles of good over evil. A young man is called upon to defeat the evil in the land of the danes he harnesses the bad within himself and uses them as his strengths. Beowulf is full of life lessons and is action packed, with the occasional mystery. In my essay I will be explaining the relations between good and evil.
It can occur in any form, slightly stressful or devastating painful. It can happen to anyone, rich, poor, big or small. Adversity is inevitable. Most people would consider it very negative with no benefits, but they are not aware of its hidden effect. Roman poet Horace suggests that adversity can cause a person to demonstrate certain talents, which would not have been present if not for their misfortune. People and characters in any literary work experience unfortunate events and put through difficult situations that they need to overcome. Adversity uncovers their concealed gifts that help them through their hardships. Under its effect, it also can alter the process in developing a character and transform them into someone completely different.
In Rowan Williams’s Tokens of Trust chapter two, called the Risk of Love, he argues for the existence of God. Many atheists argue against the existence of God by saying that there is no need to make sense of the whole of the world because the individual pieces make sense in and of themselves. Williams counteracts that by saying “we are trying to get our minds around the idea of an activity that is so utterly consistent with itself ...that is….so to speak it’s own ‘cause’, eternal, unchanging…(34). In other words, Williams is saying that God is eternal and unchanging, the deity was not created. A common belief among non-Christians is that God created the world and then simply let it take it’s
Nowadays, people in general tend to use the word miracle when referring to a surprising event, such as the Patriots coming back from a 25 point deficit to win Super Bowl LI, or the American hockey team winning at the 1980 hockey Olympics, dubbed a “miracle on ice”. However, these so called miracles do not portray the actual meaning of the word, which is defined as an effect or extraordinary event in the physical world that surpasses all known human or natural powers therefore is ascribed to be a work of God. Although there has been some skepticism among people, Christians included, as to the existence of miracles, this paper will argue that true miracles do occur. Furthermore,
When thinking about the claims that are made about the man on the tightrope there are several lenses one can focus on. Through these varying views, the man on the tightrope is being inspected, as well as his greater world and the fly that he sees disappear and reappear in front of him. This shows there is an extensive variation of facts to be examined for and against the case of miracles. Consequently, the authors included in the book, In Defense of Miracles, each considers different important details as the defining factors in the debate of the existence of miracles. Of those, some focus more heavily on the likelihood of miracles themselves such as Hume, others focus on the existence of God such as Flew and Beck, and others focus on a particular example of a miracle such as Craig.
There is always a silver lining. Every thing that has happened has mad made me stronger to God, god blessed me when he gave me Danny. He saved me on several accounts. When that boy pooped an acid in my eye it was Danny who got me to the bathroom and rinsed my eye. He saved me from having my vision be impaired for life. God gave me the strength to fight back when those girls trapped me in the bathroom. He gave me the ability to think of throwing my stuff towards them so they would leave.
"You understand your orders, Sergeant?" Lieutenant Vorne asked. He was an exceptional commander, though he'd been talking about retirement more and more lately. The man was getting up there in years. He'd finally given up on his thinning hairline last year and shaved his head; the hair never grew back.
Within the last ten years, the study in fields such as science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, also known as STEM, has gained a lot of popularity. and this lead to a decrease of people who are interested in the humanities. The humanities encompass a wide variety of studies including language, religion, and culture. The purpose of the humanities is not only to understand how people live, but it involves looking back and seeing how people used to live. Also, figuring out how people used to think, for example, what was the reasoning behind the specific choices they made.
As soon as we are born it seems like our lives are filled with many moments and events in our lives in which they could be considered good or bad memories for us. But our lives are definitely filled with many beautiful normative life events, in which they may be considered “normal” or very common in everyone else 's life as well, but they could have a special meaning to us even if it is considered a normative life event. On the other hand, we all will face some type of idiosyncratic life events, which are events that catch us off guard and are not expected or common to happen to many people during their lifespan. One example of a normative life event that meant a lot to me was when, I graduated from High School. When I graduated from

The Danes consider Beowulf, as the greatest hero in Danish history. So where can I start? War Heroes? Dirk J. Vlug. Served as a Private First Class in the 126th infantry base in Philippines. Fritz Christen. Served for Warren-SS which spearheaded the German invasion of the USSR. Fazal Din. Served in the 7th Battalion of the British Indian Army. But what do these people, decorated, war “heroes” have in common with this fictional character Beowulf. They all manned-up when trouble was around. And fought back even when they where alone, with no back ups, or someone to aid them. They didn't surrender and gave their lives for their people. The thing is this made up characters in Beowulf are based on real historical people from 6th-century Scandinavia. So probably, long time ago in the Scandinavian region, people had this type of brawls in towns. But, why is it that the Danes people consider him the greatest, bravest, toughest, of all? First, there’s this monster Grendel.A troll-like monster said to be descended from the biblical Cain. Doesn’t like the sound of joy that's not his. Kills Hrothgar’s warriors while asleep, and the people
In America, drug addiction is everywhere. In fact, according to CBS News, more than one in three Americans used opioid painkillers in 2015 alone (Thompson, “1 in 3 Americans Prescribed Opioids”). This number is startlingly high, especially considering the fact that America is in the midst of a heroin epidemic. There have been many proposals on how to lower and treat drug addiction, such as having pharmaceutical companies stop offering monetary incentives for doctors to write prescriptions or jailing non-violent repeat offenders, but sadly nothing has been created and integrated in a way that makes it conducive to those suffering from addiction rather than focusing only on putting the minds of other civilians at ease. In order to treat drug addiction effectively, America must come together as a nation with compassion and empathy, allowing those who are addicted to seek help and safety rather than judgement and harsh treatment. Too often do people look only at the addiction, rather than the larger issue at play- the fact that we refuse to treat sufferers of drug addictions as real human beings who deserve a chance at rehabilitation. Because of this, I believe that drug addiction should be treated as a physical illness through means of comprehensive care, compassion, and rehabilitation programs. If we treat addiction as the serious issue it is, we can help to reduce and possibly even eliminate drug addiction.
