Available from ProQuest Dissertations and Theses database. (UMI No. 3263167) Introduction a) Purpose The purpose of this study was to understand the impact of introverted and extroverted preferences on academic performance in online and traditional business courses. The research used a cross-sectional survey methodology for determining a student’s type of preference and causal relationships was used for studying introverted or extroverted preferences and academic performance in either traditional or online business courses. A non-experimental design defined as ex post facto was used in the study. An ex 60 post facto design gives the researcher an opportunity to explore how the independent variable, introversion or extroversion, has an impact on the dependent variable, academic performance, under similar (common) conditions. b) Measurement of the Independent and Dependent variables Course grades were used to measure academic performance, which was the dependent variable in the study. There were two independent variables: (a) introverted or extroverted preference and (b) traditional or online course environment. Survey questionnaires were used for assessing dependent and independent variables. c) Specific elements of the research
The Myers Briggs test indicated that I have a slight preference for introversion over extraversion. This result surprised me as I feel a strong pull towards introversion. As a faculty recruiter it is highly important to be an
The insecurity associated with neuroticism can lead to quitting and dissatisfaction with one’s job. Analysis suggests a correlation between neuroticism and academic achievement, particularly for the anxiety and impulsiveness facets. This relationship may be due to the correlation that neuroticism has with study attitudes. Agreeable people may often be high-performing individuals due to their willingness to adapt to and understand their environment. Although the temperamental precursors of agreeableness, such as prosocial orientation, relate to better social adjustment, relations between these temperamental precursors and academic attainment are consistently insignificant. Extraversion has been positively correlated with occupations that require social interactions, training proficiency, and leadership abilities. Extraversion has also been positively correlated with job satisfaction and leadership abilities in general, there does not seem to be a relationship between extraversion and college performance, although some studies have found evidence for a small, negative
Internal validity of this study included data collection process and student personal interest in education. For example, students may have scored in exam because they concern about their own education. Reliability of this study instrument has not been tested. This is the first time this group will have this survey. There is no former survey to use as a standard to see if there are many changes.
An example of how I am very extroverted is best seen in my ELD class. I get lots of friends and two kindly teachers. I was a shy and introverted girl before I came to ELD 3 class. Mr. Bui always said that, “I want to improve you to become better because we are a team.” This event changed me as a person, because it was when I started to a better person as possible as I can be. It was at this moment I realized truism ever since then, I have become more extroverted, due to my warm and friendly teacher and classmate. I will never forget all the memories in ELD class. This year, you will see that I will have more friends in my last year of Cupertino high school.
The personality trait from the mini IPIP6 –scale descriptions analysed in this report is Extraversion. With a mean score of 5.5 compared to the mean score of sample 4.05, standard deviation of 1.17 and z score of 1.24, over all I scored above average compared to the mean total score of participants. By incorporating previous research on Extroversion and the mini –IPIP6 scale, an observation can be made that my score was above average due to my lack in introvert behaviours. These scales are self-reported data (S- Data), which can decrease the validity as self- report data can only measure what the individual is willing to express. Returning to school as a non-traditional student has included a lot of challenges. Online classes have presented the most challenges. I have not enjoyed any of the online classes I have taken because I struggle with computer technology. This questionnaire reinforced the changes that I knew I would need to make in order to succeed in an online learning environment.
This would be the second time within the last month that I have taken the Meyers-Briggs Personality Type quiz. I was amazed at my results only because one stated that I was an extrovert, while the last one said I was an introvert. The last three of the personality types however, remained the same. For this research, I will use the last one which indicated that I was an INTJ, which is Introvert, Intuitive, Thinking and Judging. This describes me perfectly.
The purpose of this experiment is to determine the effect of grade classification and school of college grade classification and the amount of hours that Undergraduate Students at UT are currently enrolled in. The explanatory variables consisted of the grade classification and the amount of hours taken for this semester (Fall 2017). The response variable was the number of hours spent studying per week. Upperclassmen were thought to have studied more per week than Lowerclassmen since upper division courses tend to be more difficult that introduction classes. Additionally, students in the College of Natural Science were predicted to study the most per week, followed by the Business students, and then the Others.
I have like art since i was in elementary school. I had always enjoyed going to art class and learning new things and practicing them when i had a chance to do use it. I have like to draw or sketch things out. Art got me to become an extroverted person because i didn't take art in middle school because i become introverted because i was around many talented people in my middle school, but when i got to high school, i just took art because them three years in middle school not taking art i missed out and i didn't want to just push art away. I started becoming extroverted again. Then i got interested into Photography or animals and of just normal day things to take pictures of and then draw them to make a scene of the drawing i am going to make.
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) involves widespread difficulties in social interaction, communication, and behavioral flexibility. Consequently, individuals with ASD are believed to exhibit several unique personality tendencies, including a lack of insight into them. The connections of personality disorders are not clear yet can be present in individuals on the spectrum. Introversion and extroversion should be separate from one another, surprisingly interconnected proportions of intervention falls into ASQ. However, surprisingly little research has examined these issues.
My conformed profile is INTJ; this means that in business and school I am a business builder and striving for new information. As I learned from my experiences whether in the business field or in college, INTJ mostly effective in difficult subjects or the subjects that need to a lot of researchers and theoretical reasoning to come up with new ideas, solutions, and results. INTJ type of workers who are passionate to develop their abilities and aptness on anything that takes their interests. INTJ at school, they think out of the box in terms of looking for related answers even if they never been asked for it. Their brains tackle trying to find answers to questions. In social life, they prefer to be isolated even though they interact

In a classroom where students are struggling to acquire or dominate a second language, it highly interesting to observe how their personality can make a difference in the way they can perform in the classroom. On my third day observing, a question aroused; theoretically who learns more an introvert or extrovert student? In a classroom of 20 students I identified 14 of the students fall into the category of ESL or ELL. During my observation I identified the students by the speech (pronunciation or deficiency of English vocabulary), and I noticed the teacher had also made several cluster depending on their English fluency. I observed that among the 14 ELL and ESL students 5 of the students I classified as introverted students: like to be alone, like to be silence, and never participated. While the other 9 students were obviously extroverted students: most of them like to work in-group, are more social, participate, and like attention.
This study was performed to determine if there is a relationship between personality type, test anxiety, self-esteem and academic achievement, which was measured by the students GPA. The study was conducted at a university in Indiana using undergraduatevolunteers. The study used a scale from the MBTI to help determine personality types (introvert or extrovert), also Rosenberg’s 10 - item scale for self-esteem, and Spielberger’s test anxiety inventory.
