Scope and Delimitation The scope of this study was focused on the factors and problems encountered by the students in taking up the course. The factors were delimited to student’s background on how they prefer to take the course and to their learning skills and styles. The respondents were the 1st. year BSIT student of RSU Romblon Campus Romblon, Romblon. The sample of the study was 50 respondent which were purposively chosen.
CHAPTER II
REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES
In this section, the readings, past studies, and views regarding the pertinent variables under the study as viewed by other researchers and journalists are herewith showcased, both local and foreign, as accumulated by the authors. The theories in which the researches is rooted are also presented in this chapter.
Related Literature/ Theoretical Framework
Even a casual reading of the extensive literature on student development in higher education can create confusion and perplexity. One finds not only that the problems being studied are highly diverse but also that investigators who claim to be studying the same problem frequently do not look at the same variables or employ the same methodologies. And even when they are investigating the same variables, different investigators may use completely different terms to describe and discuss these variables. My own interest in
The major challenge was to get the survey done by students who are enrolled in different courses so that we can get general opinion of almost all students. It was hard to get the survey done from all programs students, but still we managed to get opinion of students from other courses.
In response to the question set, I will go into detail of the study, consisting of the background, main hypotheses, as well the aims, procedure and results gathered from the study; explaining the four research methods chosen to investigate,
Even though there are limitations in this article, it is still useful for the research topic by
Although the amount of research conducted is valid to the nature of the source, it is insufficient for in-depth study purposes. There are no official studies or other valid sources used in this article and a bibliography, naturally, is not provided.
Internal validity of this study included data collection process and student personal interest in education. For example, students may have scored in exam because they concern about their own education. Reliability of this study instrument has not been tested. This is the first time this group will have this survey. There is no former survey to use as a standard to see if there are many changes.
Following the introduction, the authors continue into a review of literature in which the cited sources addressed relevance to the study’s variables. The review of literature consisted mainly of primary and current sources, with no citations preceding the article by five years. It is within this section of the article where the authors chose to further discuss the previous research conducted on the variables and how the variables have
The data from this research study is clearly expressed, consistent and reflective of the data. There are primary sources cited in the article, and relevant landmark studies were described and used in this
The first two chapters of this book set the background for student development and how theory has evolved over the years. As time passed and college student demographics changed, new ideas and views were developed to understand the ever changing student body. Theorists realized that the college experience was different between demographic groups. Being able to develop student affairs practices and activities that can reach the different student groups is probably the biggest challenge a student affairs professional will tackle. It is said that student development is most achieved by involvement by the students. This means that these activities must be designed to accommodate students from all walks of life.
Approaching a new course one can have the confidence that they will be successful by maintaining an open mind to the material that is being introduce by their instructor. In doing so the student will master a new subject as well as be introduced to new thoughts and ideas pertaining to the material. Most importantly there is a higher rate of success in the class which leads to a more favorable outcome.
This study sought to answer three research questions. Although the questions have been presented in previous chapters, they are worth presenting again.
Literature review in relation to the findings. Some findings of this study replicate what has already been revealed in the literature, with regards to the topic of the undergraduate
The purpose of this paper is to critique a quantitative study and to present a critical analysis on its research findings. The paper will discuss the elements influencing believability and robustness of research, including writing style, research problem, literature review, conceptual framework, research question, hypothesis, study sample, methods, data analysis and results, and discussion of the relevance and future directions.
In this paper I will analyze two articles, one is quantitative and the other is qualitative. I will describe the quantitative methods used including the research question addressed, the hypothesis, and variables. I will identify the population and sample. I will discuss the reliability and validity of the instruments used. I will then discuss the design of the article and how the findings were analyzed. For the qualitative article, I will identify the design of the article, the methods used and the strategies used for analyzing the data. Lastly, I will look at the implications for practice in the qualitative article, discuss other journals that might be interested in publishing the article and discuss how this article might
The background and significance of this study are properly presented in the introduction. The research question is presented at the end of the
This chapter covers the background and rationale, statement of the opportunity, purpose, research questions, nature of the study, definition of key terms, the significance of the study, assumptions, and limitations. It also covers the scope, worldview and theoretical foundation depicting the logical path of the research study.
