FBI Acadamy: A Career As A FBI Agent

I chose the Federal Bureau of Investigation for my career choice. According to the Mission and Priorities page on the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s website, the purpose of the Federal Bureau of Investigation or FBI is to, “Protect the American people and uphold the Constitution of the United States (“Mission & Priorities”, n.d.). The FBI ensures this specific purpose by completing the following: “protect civil rights, combat transnational/national criminal organizations and enterprises, combat major white-collar crime, and combat significant violent crime” (“Mission & Priorities”, n.d.). As of right now, “the FBI has around 35,000 employs which includes special agents and support professionals” (“Mission & Priorities”, n.d.).

While during brutal cases having a collected mind should help in most cases where the culprit needs to be found fast. Training at the Academy is a difficult course of multiple exercises. For starters in order to become a federal bureau investigator you must be a united state citizen and be between twenty-three and thirty-six years of age at the time of appointment or wanting to apply. As for education you must complete successfully the written and oral examinations which a written exam is an assignment intended to measure a tester to knowledge, skill, aptitude, and physical fitness. The oral exam however is when an examiner poses questions to the student in spoken form. The student has to answer the question in such a way as to demonstrate sufficient knowledge of the subject to pass the exam. There mission is to protect and defend the United States against terrorists and foreign intelligence threats, to help enforce the criminal law of the United States. FBI Agents also have the opportunity to investigate specific crimes assigned to them and have the authority to prove their decision on a case by using assistances like, fingerprint identification, laboratory examinations, and training. The agents also have both intelligence and law enforcement responsibilities and requirements as their priorities. In order for the FBI Organization to be a strong group, they need talented and motivated people for their organization to be a success.
