Obtaining a career focus is valuable in any college student’s lifetime; therefore, it would be profitable to meet with a career counselor to discuss occupational goals and interests. Moreover, involvement with the Focus 2 assessment is another contributing factor used to guide the career decision making process. The Focus 2 is comprised of five simple tests that will analyze compatible careers for the individual taking the assessment. Mr. Richard Glass, the career counselor that agreed to meet with me, believes that the work interests assessment produces the most promising results. For instance, my work interests fall under the social, artistic, and investigative categories. Through computerized analysis, I was given a list of occupations that would agree with the data received. The content of this paper will evaluate the results of the Focus 2 assessment, in addition to the major points discussed by Mr. Glass. Come the end of this paper, the reader will gain a better understanding of my work

Through my Career Ed project I learned how to live a sustainable life with a typical paycheck I would receive. I chose the job of a psychiatrist based on my interests and ambitions. My whole life I have studied human behavior and analyzed why people act a certain way. I also like to help others and I want to give people the best lives that they can live. Being a psychiatrist would make me happy because I could learn more about human minds and the way they work by also helping people who are mentally and emotionally suffering. I had to make hard decisions on which car and house to buy. Firstly, I chose to buy a large family home which cost $199,900 because I thought it was a reasonable price for a home with four bedrooms and two bathrooms. The house also has a warm and happy exterior which is very important to me. I know that if I have a family someday they would enjoy living in our house too. The car I bought was a New 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan SE. I bought this car because not only because it was a nice price of $21,879, but because it’s a big and safe minivan
My business experiences have helped me decide why I wanted to pursue a degree in accounting. At a young age, I have always had an interest in math and the way money works in the economy. Being able to speak Spanish and English has also shaped my interests in the business industry.

There is no better time than externship to find out what you want to do or where you want to go. The most important part of finding an externship is finding a place where you will have an enlightening experience about what it is like to have a passion for food. It is the first time I will step into a professional kitchen with formal training in culinary arts. I aspire to spend my three months of externship at Restaurant Eve, where I know I will be challenged and leave knowledgeable about a passion for food and staying true to your roots.
A college degree has always been one of my ambitions, but in one way or another, I allowed life circumstances to stop this path. After many years of contemplating, I decided to pursue an accounting degree program, because of the experience I obtained throughout the years, and the knowledge I have acquired. I have worked for the federal Government over the past 20 years performing procurement, budget, and financial management and accounting responsibilities. I have found that the financial management and accounting fields have been interesting and rewarding, in many ways, in my life experiences. Experience is another factor that guided me to pursue towards an accounting degree. Over the years, I have learned the fundamental approach

I still have not declared a major, but one major I am interested in is accounting. Accounting is the practice of recording and analyzing financial records and transactions to an organization, agency, or individual. Getting a job in the accounting field would be wise because it is a field that is high in demand and will continue to become bigger. Also different companies give you plenty of opportunities to move up from an entry level position to an executive position. Most assume with an accounting degree all you can be is an accountant. But with an accounting degree you could have various jobs including an auditor, budget analyst, financial manager, school teacher, insurance sales agent, real estate broker, and many others. The most common career though, that uses an accounting degree, is an accountant.

As an accounting major, it is kind of odd that this is the most I’ve actually researched possible careers in accounting. But through my research, I’ve found many different possible careers that my degree could get me. There were dozens ranging from jobs that required an associate’s degree in accounting, all the way to careers that required a master’s degree in accounting, as well as certificates that closely relate to them, and they paid anywhere from $30,000 to over $100,000. To be completely honest, there were times when I wondered why companies need an entire different division for accounting, but after seeing just how many different jobs there were in the field, things started to make a bit more sense.
Business is a field abundant with jobs. Entering the field of business almost guarantees a career. The reason to choose business is because business is a wide field and someone can go into many different areas. Accounting is a splendid area to go into. An excellent choice for higher education would be Louisiana College’s (LC) business program in Pineville, Louisiana. LC offers a small class setting with professors who have extensive business experience. Louisiana College has four areas of specializations in business: Accounting, Economics and Finances, General Business, and Management and Marketing. These four areas of specialization provide specific skills for understanding and functioning in organizations, as well as offer a basis for a
The most interesting area of business that I would want to pursue as a career is accounting. In high school, I had the opportunity to take several business classes through our career technical education program, but the accounting courses especially sparked my interest as I began to understand the content and excel in it. I enjoyed using my math skills and seeing the transfer of money in different situations. With excellent instructors that gave me a passion for the subject, I knew that accounting was right for me. Even though there were many career options in the world of accounting and auditing for me to choose from, such as public accounting, managerial accounting, and internal/external auditing, forensic accounting seemed like a perfect fit. During my junior and senior year, I took a forensics course and became a teacher’s assistant for the class the year afterwards. I found the topic intriguing and wondered if I could possibly incorporate those skills into my business career. When I was searching for a college that I wanted to go to, I eventually found Waynesburg University and saw that they offered forensic accounting as a major. After doing some research on forensic accounting, determining that it involved accounting skills, analysis, and investigation, I chose Waynesburg University as my school and forensic accounting as the major and career that I wanted to pursue. In addition, I was happy to know that I would follow in my family’s footsteps of working for the
Throughout my academic career I have been asked to take many different forms of questionnaire programs that will interpret my answers and provide the best career for me. For this assignment I was asked to take the Focus 2 assessment and further assess the career I might want to explore during my years as a college student. Although for some students Focus 2 and other applications similar to it, might be helpful in discovering what they want to do, I do not place much emphasis on these results.
