People use Facebook to stay connected with friends and family, to discover what’s going on in the world, and to share and express what matters to them.

699 million daily active users on average in June 2013.
Approximately 80% of daily active users are outside the U.S. and Canada.

2) Blocking of Ads: Increasing number of user block ads and this prevent them to view the ad and click on it. 3) Facebook has matured in US market but is expanding in global market. Facebook should put in strategy to attract new user in US market.Slow growth rate of online advertising. Although online advertising still grows in double digits (14% in 2012, down from 23% in 2011) that growth is slowing down, thereby threatening growth of Facebook’s advertising income.

Implication of SWOT on Marketing Mix:
Product: Facebook has multiple gains over its competition, it has entered the maturity stage and there should be efforts to retain the existing customer and a strategy to gain new by adding new features and provide strong privacy rules
Place: Facebook being an internet company has a leverage to being a global company with the user base in every country. Facebook needs to have a strategy to expand in China and increase its user base.
Pricing: Facebook is free for its users but charges its advertiser. Facebook must provide tools to advertisers to understand the ROI for their advertisements. Facebook should expand in mobile space with an strategy to attract more advertisers for mobile.
