TITLE OF THE PROJECT: Study on factors influencing consumer behaviour in Reliance Fresh (Reliance Retails) INTRODUCTION: Retail involves the process of selling consumer goods or services to customers through multiple channels of distribution to earn a profit. Demand is identified and then satisfied through a supply chain. Attempts are made to increase demand through advertising. In the 2000s, an increasing amount of retailing occurs online using electronic payment and delivery via a courier or via postal mail. Retailing as a sector includes subordinated services, such as delivery. Retailing in India is one of the pillars of its economy and accounts for about 22 percent of its GDP. The Indian retail market is estimated to be US$ 500 billion and one of the top five retail markets in the world by economic value. India is one of the fastest growing retail markets in the world, with 1.2 billion people. The Indian retail industry has emerged as one of the most dynamic and fast-paced industries due to the entry of several new players. It accounts for over 10 per cent of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and around 8 per cent of the employment. India is the world’s fifth-largest global destination in the retail space. Retailing is the interface between the producer and the individual consumer buying for personal consumption.
