What affects how a political leader is perceived? Some argue that the greatness of a political leader stems from the challenges faced by the individual. Others argue that a leader's greatness has more to do with the inherent skills and abilities of the leader. Still others suggest that a leader's perceived greatness comes from a combination of great internal skills and an opportunity to uses these skills at an essential hour.
I see the preception of great leadership as a combination of inate skills coupled with the timing when these skills were most needed and a successful outcome . Many great political leaders are unknowed percisely because of their inherent skills and abilities. Through focused planning and forsight, these leaders avoide challenging issues and consequently, they receive little credit. However, the opposite extreem is also true. There are many leaders who, when faced with great challenges, are unprepared or lack the inherent skills and abilities to navigate successfully through these situations. Consequently, these leaders are often percieved as weak and seldom viewed as great leaders.
To successfuly be perceived as a great leader requires two things. First, the leader must have, or successfully developed the skills and abilities to lead. Second, the leader much apply these skills during a challenging situation and successfully navigate his or her constituents through the challing issue. Only when a leader has the the skills, applies the skills, and
Great leaders generally have to lead more than one person. They have a group or team that needs to collaborate and cooperate in order to get the work done, and this means that the leader needs to be adept at
A good leader needs to have formal training to develop good leaders and leadership from day-to-day (Ferrell R.S.,2016). A good leader needs to be confident in making the decisions on the job. I think the best leader has to build up their skills in life but others say they are born that way. . .
Being a good leader is done by making the correct choices and inspiring people to complete their tasks and work together as a team. In order to be a great leader you need to think outside the box and travel the road that is seldom or never traveled. A great leader will use their inspiration and determination to complete the tasks no matter what hurdles or problems they
A leader must be strong. People need to be able to look up to a leader. They also need to be able to enforce their leadership so that others cannot out voice them. A good leader needs to be the example to follow.
Being a good leader means that when given power, they use it to benefit others and not themselves. Weak leaders, when given power are seduced by greed and the need to improve themselves that they stop thinking about anyone else. A person’s mind is tested to the highest level when given power; because it is a test to show what kind of person they are deep
World leaders such as presidents, prime ministers, and monarchs work with diligence to create impressions of confidence, charisma, and power. They are often followed by throngs of people who help to add to this image of leadership and success as a leader. This map of leadership is the map that many follow as the course to successful leading today.
The main factor of becoming a great leader is having confidence to achieve more as a person. Every leader must have confidence in their work because without confidence leaders would not exist. Certainly for a leader confidence is having pride in their choices and standing by them even when their choices might not always be correct. A leader that is confident or self-assured is trusted by their pers, because they know that the person they are with is comfortable with their own decision making. Lastly, leaders are made from confidence because without any confidence there would be no leaders.
Leaders are role models for many, who have high standards that they hold them up too. The supreme quality a leader must have is being influential, without having an impact on their follower’s lives then nothing else matters.
A good leader should create an atmosphere where employees produce to the highest level of their abilities. They function as well as they know how to develop themselves, through training and education, to improve their skills and become innovative and creative. To do better tomorrow than the best they can do today and should manage the interaction of the followers, not their action. Their performance measured, recognized and rewarded they will develop the capabilities to lead themselves and others.
Being able to gain support and recognition is a crucial part when discussing good qualities of a leader. Acquiring recognition will aid in getting people to support them. A good leader will be able to achieve the support they need go forward with their intentions. People want someone with authority to go through with their desired actions. If the leader is not confident and may back down easily, this defeats the purpose of a strong leader. In addition to being an assertive leader, being able to be trusted is a salient element in being a competent leader. Being able to put full trust and support behind someone, they must be honest. If the leader is righteous and sincere about everything, it can be assured that this person is
Being an effective leader is more than just getting results. It is more about getting the most out of the people around you. Great leaders are not born, but shaped over time. It does not happen overnight, just like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. knew that ending segregation would not happen overnight; it would take a lot of time, dedication, and convincing. Certain skills and characteristics are needed to be a great leader such as communication, ambition, passion, and honesty. The list can go on and on, but only the best leaders can make a difference, no matter how big or small it is. Dr. King was by far the greatest leader in history, but better yet, the greatest speaker in the world. He is best known for his “I Have a Dream” speech and his role
To be an effective leader you must be able to make your workers understand the purpose of your vision and find ways to motivate them to want to accomplish the goals. I love to motivate people and give them a reason to work hard and attain goals they thought they could not attain. Good leaders have a genuine concern for the well-being of their workers. The traits of a leader influence the way they are viewed by others. So good leaders need to examine themselves and ensure their actions line up with the characteristic of a sound leader (Manning & Curtis, 2015).
The act of being “great” is what makes one a distinctive leader. As there are many great leaders, not all have what it takes. I believe to be great it takes self-confidence, compassion and risk-taking. Without these three attributes, we would not see our leaders as the same key people they are today. There have been a range of aspiring leaders from history to present day. The essential goal is not what one contributes to society, but how they use their gifts and talents to change it.
What makes a leader? What makes an extraordinary leader? As with everything else in life, the answers depend upon who you ask and why you ask. Leaders can be classified as either benevolent or malevolent. The benevolent leader’s frame of mind comes for the benevolent dictatorship: “a theoretical form of government in which an authoritarian leader exercise’s absolute political power over the state but does so for the benefit of the population as a whole and sometimes seen as a republican form of enlightened despotism.” takes pride and pleasure in serving the people and makes it of utmost importance. Whereas the malevolent leader to become a benevolent leader Politicians come and they go, with every election, and
