In this executive summary, The Goal by Goldratt will be analyzed in detail. First, 10 operations management decisions as found on page 7 of the Heizer and Render textbook will be listed in column 1. Next, for each OM decision, examples from The Goal textbook that exemplify the type of problem or solution relevant to the OM area will be summarized in column 2. Finally, a scenario from my work life will be exemplified in column 3.
Operations Management in an organisation is repsonsible for managing and in making decisions concerning the activities that convert inputs into outputs , that is goods and services. This covers both short term actvities as well as longer term activities to meet strategic goals. Inputs can be the raw materaials need to manufacture goods such as furniture or the computers needed to create a service like online shopping site. Operation management’s role is to make decisions to improve how operation activities function, for example, to improve the final quality of the output or to change production methods to be more efficient in terms of cost and in time.
Roz says she is a very determined person and the first sign her determination came when the position of hospitality manager / PA to Richard Branson became available on his privately owned island, Necker. Roz recalls a conversation she had with her mother before moving to the Virgin Islands. She was showing her mother pictures of Necker Island and in a glossy magazine and made a promise that she would one day work there. After beating off thousands of applicants for the position her promise was realised.

This paper is a research done to analyze the characteristics of communication and how it affects male and female entrepreneurship. The use of gender perspective in the communication style was influenced by the now popular topic of women’s rights and discrimination against women in the business world. Women in business was scarce, but now it is becoming more prevalent. “The communication is a key factor in the success of any organization” (Borcic, Despot, Prusina 2015). The background of this paper is based on the theory of basic guidelines regarding female entrepreneurship, communication, gender in communication, and the comparison of leadership characteristics between women and men. Another theory this paper is based

The three companies I selected for this assignment are McDonalds, Bose Corporation and Motorola. From the reading I was able to determine the employee’s organizational structure within this company’s by which they complete their jobs. I will review and outline the main kinds of Operations and Materials Management (OMM) processes these companies use, and how it affects their operations. Also, I will discuss how companies design their operating systems to give them a competitive advantage. I will identify which components of operations and materials management costs and the methods companies use to reduce them.
When thinking of entrepreneurs, what comes to mind are the successful men with their big businesses and their tall buildings. Men have accomplished more than woman in the work place. Woman are often thought of the weaker sex in this profession, although they have different characteristics that show women can be the best choice when it comes to entrepreneurship. The author in “Analysis of Gender Differences for Women Entrepreneurs by SWOT Model,” Hongbo Li states when more female entrepreneurs are shown in society there is greater development in the economy. Hongbo Li gives many strengths and traits; that females have that make them stand out, and set them apart from men. Women have demonstrated throughout the years and with the help with their strengths and opportunities, they too would quantify as entrepreneurs.
It is general belief in our society that role of women is restricted in four walls of home or for mainly household activities. Economy of any country can’t boom without contributing women. The growing industrialization, urbanization and social legislation and with the spread of education and awareness women have shifted from kitchen to higher level of professional activities. Today’s women are taking more and more professional and technical degrees to cope up with market need. The position of women and their position is any society is an index of its civilization. Women are to be considered as equal partner in the process of development.

Operations management is generally described as the planning, arrangement, and control of activities that change raw materials or an organization's input into finished products and services. The overall activities covered by operations management include the creation, development, manufacture, and distribution of products. The concept also relates to various activities such as inventory control, controlling purchases, quality control, logistics, storage, and evaluation ("Operations Management in McDonalds", n.d.). Since operations management covers the entire operations in an organization, it mainly focuses on the efficiency and effectiveness of the firm's processes.
The accessibility of businesses through social media and the web have made many entrepreneurs able to reach consumers throughout the world they would otherwise not be able to do business with. Women have often found themselves underperforming in the workforce and as traditional small business owners in comparison to similarly employed or self-employed men (Huarng et al., 2012). However, there has been little research investigating the extent to which these new social media, web, and digital marketing technologies and their strategies benefit women entrepreneurs of already profitable small businesses in comparison to men who employ similar strategies. A descriptive quantitative study is needed to investigate the use of social media, web, and digital marketing technologies in the businesses of successful women entrepreneurs in comparison to similarly successful men entrepreneurs by studying the effects of their digital strategy by concentrating on their digital analytical data on similar digital and social media platforms and measuring that data. This study plans to provide data that will help determine whether profitable small businesses are effected by gender on the Web 2.0 and help close the gender gap.
