Bradbury ends the novel this way to show the reader that Montag was able to start a new chapter in his life and forget about he past. The author wanted to hint that there is hope/faith in a better future and this future will allow people to think the want they want to. At the end of the novel Montag recites a passage from the Bible, which states that the time of destruction has ended and the time to rebirth has begun. The author ends the novel this way to show that to every end there is a new beginning. Also, the author ended the novel with the destruction of the city to show the reader that the civilization will change/ grow and the civilization will rebuild its self like the Phoenix.
