Multiple laws are set when people create or post videos. The most important law is copyright. Videos will get copyrighted if the user uses a piece of material that is not theirs. A copyright on a piece of an author’s work is a form of protection that gives the author the ownership to that work. For example, books, music, and arts have a copyright symbol so that no one else can get credit besides the author who created it. Another law that is the fair use law. Fair use gives copywriters the right to use apart or all of their work. Fair use allows people to use work for criticism,
As mentioned before, one of the acts relating to technology is the Copyright Amendment Act 2000 (Cth). Authors of creative material have an automatic right not to have this material copied or used by others for profit or for gain. This means that people who make copies of TV programs, movies, songs or articles may be committing a crime. Exemptions apply for fair copying of material used for critical review or educational purposes. In 2006, this Act was amended to also exempt the temporary taping of a TV program to watch later and copying from a legal copy of material to another format (such as turning songs on CD into MP3 format for use in music players. The law also allows people to copy works for parody. Most exemptions apply only to individual use and do not allow the sharing of the material. The law also makes it illegal to access pay TV services without authorisation or to modify any protection measures intended to stop people illegally copying digital media.
After watching the documentary about the Mission District in the beloved San Francisco, it’s hard for me to say if I agree or disagree with the gentrification that has been happening there however I believe that I am leaning more towards agreeing with it. There are many good things that could come out of this like older buildings being restored and creating better housing however this does mean that prices are going to be rising quickly. More importantly, these neighborhoods would become safer and crime rates will come down (San Francisco Gentrification). In the video, Rose Hunter, a small business owner, talks about how people have more confidence to walk on the streets because of the different kinds of people and businesses that have come around (Kepka). However with more people moving into the area, the culture levels have

Mass media embodies the Copyright content,

On the other hand, there are also people that do it on purpose thinking they won't get caught doing what they are doing, and that means that they would have to face the consequences, and Eric Faden makes this video, to probably help a lot of people learn, I can say this because I did, I understand the copyright and fair use laws a lot better now after watching his video.

In December 2017 a well-known YouTuber called Logan Paul released a video the content of which has majorly impacted the YouTube society and YouTube’s guidelines. In the video, one can see Logan Paul and a few of his friends deviated off the path in the suicide forest. While Logan and his team were there, they found and filmed a dead body for all his viewers to see. Although at the beginning of the video he provides a disclaimer and discusses in the introduction what he was about to show his viewers, he also states that he is not monetizing the vlog* ‘for obvious reasons.’ [*A vlog is a video and a blog. Similar to its online form however it differs in the way the information is delivered which is through filming, i.e his day-to-day life.]

I have heard about censorship many times, but did I ever think about it seriously? No! Censorship is a suppression of speech or other public communication that is considered objectionable, harmful, or sensitive as determined by the government. It involves content that is harmful to the public and children who can easily watch the harmful subject through one click. Censorship can be on the largest level or on a local level where one could want to control only one community or a person. The government makes some laws that dictate how a person or a government cannot abuse any rights or freedoms. In democratic countries, people have rights to express their feelings and freedom of speech. So the question here is weather censorship
In preparation for the speech I have read chapters 1-4 from the book. I have made it a point to familiarize myself with the speech outline given. The easiest for me was reading. The book is quite interesting and is easier to read than my other textbooks. The most challenging is the choice of topic. I have trouble decided what I can pick to have the best effect on my audience. After I don't want to write something I know I haven't put all my thought into. If that were the case I would risk having a dull speech, which isn't fun for anyone.
