Winston Churchill once said, “Not to have an adequate Air Force in the present state of the world is to compromise the foundations of national freedom and independence” (Quotes about Everything). In this sense, the military is important to America, especially the Air Force. The Air Force provides security and safety to the people. Military lifestyles are usually not everybody’s first choice in the beginning. Particularly, the U.S. Air Force is not always is not always the first branch that comes to mind when thinking of the future. Most of the time, people come to conclusion of enlisting in any branch of the military because of an uncertainty of their future. “…I had no career or education goals, no plans; it’s just where my path took me”
Many people would agree that without faith, the world would be in chaos. The book Christian Foundation by Kathleen Fischer and Thomas Hart gives an interpretation on faith in our time. Many people would question the definition of faith. Faith is a gift, which is given by God to have trust in him and belief in him. This book is a great entry in anyone's life that has speculation on his or her own faith. The book has many ways into understanding ones own religion. It discusses the Bible, Jesus, Church, God's existence and Images of God. All of these chapters helped me get a better interpretation of what my religion entailed.
Plato states, “We are twice armed if we fight with faith.” meaning that Faith is the compelling force that strengthens us. Faith is said to be the driving force within our lives. But to know how and why faith is such a significant power we must first understand what it is. Faith is what guides us on our finite path of life, for faith is our significant reason for living. The hope that our death will open the doors to the infinite is what drives us to lead a moral life and make moral decisions. This concept of faith has ruled all life throughout history and has caused humans to make moral decisions and live moral lives. Philosophers such as Leo Tolstoy, and Paul Tillich believe in faith, in such a way, while Freud believes that faith is
Faith is still very important for people. I see faith and religion as exactly the same meaning but with a small difference. Faith helps people by giving them a false sense of hope in this complicated world. People in wars usually have faith so they can believe they are protected by spirits higher above. Even if its false hope, at least it make them calm in bad situations. Unfortunate and people under bad situations have much more faith because they do not have much that they can do or get support from.
The United States was built upon the idea of freedom liberty for all. This country freed itself from the tyranny of English back in the late 1700’s. Now, after over two centuries of hardships, the United States still stands strong and as a well known, respected presence in the modern world. The United States Armed Forces is not the largest military in the world; however, it is arguably the strongest in the world. There are five branches of the U.S. Armed Forces and each respective branch specializes in different aspects of defense and attack.
Throughout the course of history it has been proven that a country cannot survive without employing the use of armed forces. These forces offer security to the people of the nation. Having a strong military base allows the United States to have allies, as well as being a power house country. Through the actions of our soldiers, we have been able to protect our homeland along with providing aides to other countries in need. Currently, there are three main branches of the US Military; the United States Army, the United States Air Force and the United States Navy.
In today 's military, we are experiencing more changes than ever before. The United States has separated forces, added forces and changed rules and regulations to adapt with the times. As we grow and advance so does our military. That is part of the reason they are so great, but it has its downfalls as well. The military is not only changing the way we operate, but who does the operating, honestly they have their hand in aspect of life and I will name only a few. They have also made a huge impact on the economy, gender roles and the controversy between the roles, and they are taking control in more ways than we think.
Hope and Faith ties into a lot of things, courage, fate, and ultimately religion. It can one way someone can preserve themselves. But once those values disappear, a character may start to lose their
Faith in Christ has given me a unique life filled with optimism and purpose. From a young age, I have been raised in a home where I was taught about the love of Christ. Not only at home did I learn about Christ, but at school and at church. Thus, my life has been filled with experiences that have amplified my faith. For example, when my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, I found that my relationship with Christ grew. Through all of the difficult circumstances that I have faced, faith in Christ has given me the encouragement that I need to persevere through any situation. Additionally, faith has influenced my decision making, which is why I strive to make all my decisions and live my life according to faith-based principles. This means
Trust is the most important factor in the civilian-military relationship. Military expertise, honorable service, Esprit de Corps and stewardship of the army are all essential components in the Army professions of arms, however, trust as a starting point, outweighs all other actions. This is plainly stated in ADRP 1 The Army Profession “Trust is the bedrock upon which the United States Army grounds its relationship with the American people. Trust reflects the confidence and faith that the American people have in the Army to effectively and ethically serve the Nation, while resting assured that the Army poses no threat to them” (pg. 2-1).
Faith is people’s belief in something higher and brighter. It also can be a religious belief. Faith helped jewish people overcome terrifying conservation camps during holocaust.”You must resist! Don’t lose faith in yourself!” - page 102. Eliezer survived mostly because he kept his faith all the way through the holocaust. However sometimes he was struggling to do it, but his father and bond between them helped him to fight through.
Adolescents and adults face difficult challenges. Family, sports, illness, and even death can question our faith time to time. Faith can give a person courage. “Let your faith be bigger than your fears.” Courage is a feeling inspired by faith. Courage is a spark of hope and belief to challenge what to overcome. “A leap of faith” is a term used when presented a challenge. To embrace faith can give evidence and trust that they received what they asked for. Real faith is more than just believing in something. Real faith includes acting on that faith. To have faith in yourself and challenge yourself takes real faith. Faith comes into play when we lose a loved one. Death challenges our faith in many ways. Faith can believe the loved one is now in a better place. One may question faith after a death. A sudden death can cause loss of faith. Why was he or she taken? Why were prayers unanswered? Why is the world so cruel? Why did he or she get sick? Faith can be loss when we may have wished for a different outcome. Faith restores when we have a prayer answered. For many people it is natural to blame someone when questioning faith. Courage to have faith again is hard for some
The topic of faith is very controversial. Many believe it is merely an idea of fiction, while others hold on to miracles. For me, faith has provided comfort and strength. There is so much more to learn in my Christianity.
Chapter 2 discusses faith as visualization of, and belief in attainment of desire. It goes on to discuss faith as another word for "Absolute Confidence." When a person has faith in his beliefs then one can say that half of the battle to acquire success is won. Therefore, when faith is combined with the vibration of thought then the subconscious mind picks up the vibration, translates it into spiritual equivalent, and transmits it to infinite intelligence. Knowing how to develop faith is a method by which it does not already exist is very difficult to describe. Faith is a state of mind, which may be developed at, will after the thirteen principles, which can be mastered in this book.
As a Soldier in the Army, with many friends in the Air Force, it is easy for me to see the many similarities and differences between the two military branches. Both the Army and Air Force have troops who are dedicated to both the work they do for the military, as well as the military branch they serve. Army and Air Force personnel must wake up early every weekday, to include weekends at times, in order to work long hours to serve and protect the Nation.
