• All students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) in order to retain aid eligibility as directed by the U.S. Department of Education. SAP is monitored at the end of each applicable term. Students who have lost their eligibility for certain types of financial aid have the option to submit an appeal to have their aid reinstated. To appeal the loss of financial aid, students are required to first submit a written appeal. All financial aid appeals will be reviewed by committee. Throughout the Fall Semester, I served on the FA committee at the Carroll Campus. As a members of the Appeals Committee, I reviewed the entire academic and appeal history, not just the most recent semester. Additionally, I reviewed supporting documentation
Southern New Hampshire University is a company and its product is producing competent students who will be ready for the working world. Management at Southern New Hampshire University starts with the Administration and their collective guidelines on everything from the teaching curriculum to practices and policies that keep the SNHU company running efficiently. Once the top level administration is content with the current business model those instructions are passed down to the "department heads" or deans of their respective vein of schooling. The local deans then hand the necessary information on down to the teachers. Every single link in the management chain is as important as the next. The teachers are expected to effectively teach the approved
I have the answers to question # 2 and 3 for Collin College. Please see below and let me know if you have any questions or need any additional supporting documentation or information.
Sauk Valley Community College should have a track and field team for several reasons. SVCC use to have a track and field team. Sadly, they dropped it in the nineteen seventies probably because of the expenses. Track and field is a very popular sport that many students might want to take part in middle and high school, or even at college level. Track isn’t a very expensive sport. It is one of the cheapest sports to participate in. Track and field is also very popular sport in colleges in the two hour radius from Sauk Valley Community College. Bringing track and field to Sauk will bring about 40-50 new students each year. Also, this will make Sauk become a better choice of colleges in the area, because of the distance.
Two specific groups that I identify with as part of my decision to attend Columbia Southern University is based on my family and work. As an individual my choice to attend is based on my own desire to achieve a higher education in order to obtain a job that is satisfactory to the life and goals I have mapped out for myself. By having a job for which I have specifically attended school for, it will allow me to get and sustain a career conducive to my own happiness and prosperity. While my own individual choice to attend school is great, I have a family that encouraged me greatly in this decision. Both my mother and father, between the two, have a Master’s degree in criminal justice, and a Bachelor's degree in paramedic studies. Naturally
I am interested in Central Connecticut State University because it offers a solid Engineering program. Central has a beautiful campus and both my Father and Mother attended Central Connecticut State University. CCSU has a small campus with a relatively small student body. I value the oppurtunity to have a more personal relationship with my
Evergreen College (Evergreen) is a Canadian post-secondary private career college established in 2003, offering more than 14 different diploma and certificate programs within six campuses in two Canadian provinces. The key barriers in the early days of Evergreen internationalization efforts were insufficient finances, Insufficient Knowledge. With no real expertise in any foreign markets; Evergreen mainly focused to serve the Canadian markets in Ontario and Alberta. However, due to the intensity of the competition within this industry in the domestic market, Evergreen started to serve the international student markets only through recruitment students’ agencies, as well as immigrations lawyers or consultants across the globe. These moderate
In the fall of 1970, three long-haired men sought to register to attend Tyler Junior College in the fall semester. When they arrived to register, they were snubbed by a school official after receiving a copy of the dress code, due to the length of their hair. They were informed that they would be allowed to attend the college upon cutting their hair to the required length. After discussing the injustice of this act, these three men filed a suit against the dress code of Tyler Junior College. The plaintiffs claimed the portion of the dress code regarding hair length was a violation of their constitutional rights, specifically the rights afforded to them under the fourteenth amendment.
This paper analyzes the case study of Valley Community College (VCC), which is one of the oldest community colleges in the nation. Since its inception in 1910, it has grown and expanded to over 25,000 students, and a faculty of 1,500. The largest student population consists of 38% Latino, followed by Whites, Asian Americans, African Americans, and Native Americans. The College is now operating at maximum capacity and has a waiting list for each location. In order to meet the growing demands of the community, temporary classrooms have been setup in a large portable trailer. Due to the financial pressures of the institution, a new building is currently not an option. In addition, many of the faculty members and administrators are expected to retire, which is affecting faculty and staff workloads as well as tension of program accreditations. These concerns are impacting the entire campus morale.
I have looked at countless colleges to see what would be the best for my and my plans, and one college stood out from all the others; Herkimer College. My current plan is to go to college for two years to get my general studies out of the way so I can transfer into a college in Australia for stock trading. Herkimer will allow me to do this because it is close to home, so I don’t have to worry about the cost of room and board and I can balance work and college. Herkimer is also a cheaper alternative than many other colleges, allowing me to save more money to move to Australia in a few years.
This is an attempt to resolve the issues between Terry and Bill, who have two children. The first child is Dawn, and she is having trouble adjusting to the lack of attention from her parents. The parents are traditional, where as the father works and the mother stays at home. Both her parent used to be extremely focused and attentive on Dawn; subsequently, her sibling, Darren has congenital heart problems. Darren require more attention, and the parents are having difficulties paying for his medical need, as a result Dawn is lonely without her parents. Her father works long hours to pay for Darren’s abundant medical costs, and her mother is so tired of bills and caring for Darren that she expect Dawn to be a grownup; nevertheless, Terry assumes Dawn is much more mature than Darren. They are high and unreasonable expectations for Dawn. (Broderick and Blewitt, 2014).
“Great ambition is the passion of a great character. Those endowed with it may perform very good or very bad acts. All depends on the principles which direct them” (Napoleon Bonaparte). Although Consuela grew up in a Mexican-American family, she dreams of being an astronomer while her parents want her to help with the family business. They own a food truck where they have charreadas, meaning that they are always busy.
Fresno Pacific University would help me develop professionally and personally. By continuing my education at FPU’s biblical seminary, I would gain a deeper understanding and application of theology and psychology. FPU will provide me the knowledge and tools to further my career/goal of becoming a MFT. FPU offers a mixture of theology and psychology courses that suit my personal and professional goals. I am excited about the program’s integration of psychology, theology, and practicum courses that are offered. The availability of faculty and astonishing education that FPU offers is the reason I have chosen to apply to Fresno Pacific’s MFT program.
The fact that I lost all my financial aid until I did the SAP appeal in 2014 but not this time in 2016, and the fact that I owe $4k for the spring semester this time in 2016 but not in 2014. It is a similar situation for both semesters. Therefore, it should be taken care of the same way, at least one would think. It is unfortunate that the U.S. Department of Education was unhelpful, and the only service that was helpful with information, cannot do anything about it.
RE: Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal Fall 2013: Personal Difficulties & Plan for Academic Success
I didn't have an idea of the financial aid requirements entailed till it was too late. Freshmen and sophomore year were a year of trials and tribulations. Completing approximately 12 out of 38 credits mostly due to the fact I was moving my schedule around to fit my schedule and losing multiple family members and getting diagnosed with ADHD and depression by the DRES department, I had so much to deal with that I found myself struggling. I wasn't able to redeem myself after I got my warning because even though I completed all that I registered for, I would still get my financial aid suspended. I have had to appeal ever since I got my warning because of extenuating circumstances such as deaths in the family and disabilities and other times because I had to because even though I complete every class I attempted for the previous semesters excluding fall 2015, I won't make the completion rate because I dropped so many classes freshmen year first semester.
