Some people think that the family is the most important influence on young adults. Other people think that friends are the most important influence on young adults?
Family and friends both have a very big impact on young adults in today 's 's society, whether it be what they wear or the choices they make. In my opinion family has a bigger impact over young adult than friends.Family has a more important impact on young adults, because they have always been around and have shaped them into the young adult they have become. Whether they have shaped them into bad or good person, it all depends on the family 's choices on how they raised them. Family has a more important impact than friends in today society. We learn from a young age what is right and what is wrong. It is a trait we develop from how we were raised and what we see growing up. For example a boy who is raised around drinking and smoking has a more likely chance of drinking and smoking in the future.A boy that was raised by caring and loving family has a less likely chance of becoming a criminal. We learn the way we live, what is right, is right and what is wrong, is wrong. We learn this from our family, and that is a reason family has a more important impact. Being around family in your life helps set your values and expectation. But we can also reject the values and expectation that our family has come to set for us. For example doing something wrong and you know it 's wrong, but you do it to
My parents have had several friends that I can recall during my childhood. Each of them had some who were called acquaintances, and others close friends. The close friendships were people who were there when my parents needed support or just a moment to vent. They would be at your door step during any time of day. I learned to appreciate the people who had good hearts and cared about my family the most. They have always been a part of my years growing up and are still keeping in touch while I am starting my own life. Friendships don’t seem to be something that would cost me anything. I feel like I can rely on them and know that they are there when I need them the
Family is supposed to listen to you when you're in need. Family is supposed to have your back. Family is supposed to be loyal. Family is supposed to be dependable. Family is supposed to accept you at your worst and best moments. Family is supposed to make you laugh and smile. Family is the number one unconditional love that everyone has. Whether it be the unconditional love from immediate family members or close friends, everyone has that one person they go to in times of need. It’s funny how those closest to you can hurt you the most.
A supportive family helps shape your personality and instils good decision making in you. In THE FARMING OF BONES the main character Amabelle was abandoned by her family when she was
I value family and friends and consider them to be a priority in my life. I have many acquaintances but only have a handful of true friends. I consider myself to be a great friend. If I can help, I assist my friends and family with their problems even if I must sacrifice personal interests.
Family dynamics and relationships in our younger years help shape our view of the world and how we fit into it. Whether you agree with Sigmund Freud, Alfred Adler, or Erik Erickson,
How do our relationships with others define who we are? Others affect us greatly. The people who surround us everyday have a great impact on our own life. Friends and family are the people who create you, and are part of the reason of who you are today. For example, when there’s a new trend, or when someone says a mean comment, you might change something about you at one point or another. Who affects your life?
Family identity is important to develop who they will be in the world, a family's values, goals and vision help build a strong foundation that will mold someone into a productive member of society. Family relationships are the building blocks that lead to strong moral values. Respect, honesty and trust are all developed with family members. The stronger the bond in the family, the stronger the moral values will be as a person grows up. If the family doesn’t have strong values, skills will develop based off the environment. This can be a tough thing to learn, not
Families play a large role in the lives of every person to ever live. If one is born without a family, their lives will be much different than one who is born with a family, whether that family has a positive influence on said person or not. Every member of a family shapes a person’s identity, especially when they are growing up. If a child grows up with irresponsible parents that do not care for their child or adhere to their needs, the child will most likely grow up to become a person of a similar fashion with similar characteristics as their parents because that is all they have experienced and that is the only way that they
A famous actor, Michael J. Fox once said, “Family is not an important thing it is everything”. In the same way, family will be with one through hard times and love one no matter what. The two stories that best prove family is the cultural element that informs the way individuals view others and the world are Two Ways to Belong in America and By Any Other Name. The impact family has on cultural perspective can be clearly seen when one views the teachings, names, books, and tradition. However, family might not always be the best cultural element, because family may disappoint one or not help them. Despite this, family will still be there for their children at difficult times to help them get through their struggles. Family is the cultural
Initially, I think that the main aspect of our childhood that shapes ourselves is a family. Everything starts from our families because our families are the environments where we say our first words; a family is a place where we start walking and at the same time, it is the place where we start learning
While social groups are important, the family has the primary impact of developing a sense of self. The poorly-differentiated self requires acceptance and approval of others for thinking, acting, and saying.
Family plays a major role in the way people behave in society. It also shapes and influences the individuals to choose their future occupations. Almost everything that we learn and believe as a child comes from the interaction within the family. Our parents went through the concepts of life, and they were exposed to society as a kid and an adult, which we learn as we get older as well. My grandfather’s military service story has a huge impact on my future career plan. He was an Army Physician in Taiwanese Army. He devoted his career and half of his life to the military during WWII
In most cultures, family plays a big role in one’s life. Family helps shapes people into who they become by giving
I feel my friends and family have had a good influence on my life. They have influenced me a great deal. I tie friends and family into one group because I feel they both did the same thing for me, and I see my friends as a family and family as friends. My friends, although they have changed a ton in my life, have been great in helping me in my development. They have helped me a great deal in my life but they were the ones who first started me drinking and using tobacco. So I guess they weren’t always good. But I don’t think anyone can go through life without friends to help them along the way. You always
Family is one of the hardest words to define. There are many definitions and thoughts of what a family consists of. When one accepts the definition of the census family given by Statistics Canada then a family becomes “a married couple and the children, if any… a couple living common law and the children, if any… a lone parent with at least one child living in the same dwelling… grandchild living with grandparents but no parents present… Census families can be opposite or same sex and children may be adopted, by birth, or marriage and all members must be living in the same dwelling” (Baker 2014). With family being such a difficult term to agree on, the creation of a complex study of family life emerges. The factors that influence family life are put into three theory categories; Social Structure, Interpersonal Factors, as well as Ideas, Global Culture, and Public Discourse.
