When a family member has a long or serious illness, it may interrupt family life as we know it. Per family traditions, the children and even the extended family members are not told why a member of the nuclei family is ill. When my father who was residing in another country had a stroke; the children were not timely informed. The concern was that it can disrupt school activities, knowing that all the children are in college in addition to the cost of travelling from one continent to another continent. Looking back now with the exposure to another culture and a professional as a nurse; I have was able to educate my family differently. Family tradition is so strong with superstitious beliefs. Older generations are beginning to understand that illness is part of life and family must care enough to express love that usually results in healing.

Values and beliefs are social norms that are relative compared to the fact that 2 plus 2 equals 4 in mathematics. What I am learning is that; I must maintain what is value system and be courageous about it, even in the face of threat, regardless of real risks from stress, rejection from colleagues or threats to employment. Uncompromised patient care must remain the bedrock in the care environment, regardless. All efforts must be made to address the issues that may compromise patient care. There are established rules and it must be engaged. The rules must be followed; where patient care is paramount to success in every step of the way. If the rules are conflicting with my values and beliefs; then I must seek assistance from the system and hopefully arrive at reasonable
I have found the sweet sixteen party is quite similar to a Quinceañero birthday party. Probably the most distinct similarities are that they are both an event that celebrates a girl’s transition from childhood to womanhood. They are both an important part of the culture, as well as are quite elaborate and usually expensive, depending on the type of party the parents want. They celebrate when a girl becomes a woman, which is a major stage in life because adults have more privileges and responsibilities. This is a big part of their culture because it is celebrated by almost all Spanish girls when they become women. Most of the time, these parties are elaborate, as they only happen to a person once in their entire
In todays world there are at least 1 Billion families. Which means there has to be at least 1 Billion family traditions. Family traditions can be many different things but my family traditions all can relate back to dysfunctionalism. There are more dysfunctional families in the united states than normal families. More than 50% of happiness comes from dysfunctional families and still, the celebrate Birthdays, Religious Holidays and Casual Holidays . Can you imagine Holidays being the root of our happiness.

What does your family want from you in terms of traditions that you are expected to uphold on account of your ethnic background?
In Alice Walker's "Everyday Use," the message about the preservation of heritage, specifically African-American heritage, is very clear. It is obvious that Walker believes that a person's heritage should be a living, dynamic part of the culture from which it arose and not a frozen timepiece only to be observed from a distance. There are two main approaches to heritage preservation depicted by the characters in this story. The narrator, a middle-aged African-American woman, and her youngest daughter Maggie, are in agreement with Walker. To them, their family heritage is everything around them that is involved in their everyday lives and everything that was involved in the lives of their ancestors. To

One tradition I have is, on Christmas morning I wake up and drink hot chocolate and watch a Christmas movie to wait for everybody to wake up. Another tradition is while opening gifts we play loud Christmas music and eat cookies, and, my sister I play our 3DS and wait for people to come over. On Christmas weekend I usually leave to go to my grandparent’s house until Christmas morning, and that got me wondering, I wonder what my other grandma would say if I got a BB gun for a present.
While evaluating personal beliefs and values, one must understand how this is incorporated into ethics of nursing. According to Mendes (2015), “Ethical dilemmas are not uncommon in health care. Awareness of personal beliefs, how they affect work situations and how they may potentially affect the way a nurse views a patient, or the patient’s condition and care, is
Family traditions and cultural legacies contribute to an individual’s self-identity since it is the fabric of where they came from, who they are, and where they’re heading. How do family traditions and cultural legacies contribute to and/or inhibit an individual’s self-identity?
Michael Halloran (2004) proposes that culture as a diverse and complex system of shared and interrelated knowledge, practices and signifiers of a society, provides structure and significance to groups within that society which subsequently impact the individual’s experience of their personal, social, physical and metaphysical worlds (p.5). Halloran (2004) theorizes that cultural maintenance is key to increasing the health and well-being of Aboriginal Australians whereby he suggests that culture provides collectively validated ways to think of and value oneself, further arguing that culture helps to suppress fundamental human existential anxieties about social isolation produced by our mortality awareness. Emile Durkheim (Marks, 1974) identifies anomie as being without law or norms, similarly, D.J Spencer (2000)

My concept behind this design is inspired by the research of my family history. Family history is currently my favorite interest right now. Throughout my school experience, I have heard about Georgia, China’s Art and Egypt histories, however, I had never had any interest in family until after my grandmother passed and watching movies where a characters screams out their lineage. Therefore, I wanted to know where my ancestors stand in history, what did they do as a career, who were they as a person, why did they go here or there and how did they survivor during the good, bad and crazy times? Since the summer of 2016, I have been looking my mother’s side because she has not seen her aunts and uncles for a long time so does not the information
Reviewing and examining my personal and professional values, I have to admit, there is nothing that surprised me. However, there is a lot that affirmed many of my beliefs. The values and beliefs to which I personally ascribe are undeniably impacted by my upbringing and social environment that I live in. They are the essence of who I am. My values influence every decision I make, how I conduct myself, and basically how I choose to live my life. I am fifty-two years old and in this stage of my life, I know that values play an important role in my life and I do recognize them and I know how to articulate them. Consequently, because I know my own values and beliefs, I knew what I want my employer to look like. Luckily, I was able to find a job that my values are in alignment with the values of my employer. Both, my employer and I encompass the value of caring. Which according to Burkhardt & Nathaniel (2014) is integral to the profession of nursing alongside with the value of curing.
Whilst I have not been involved in such an interpersonal and complicated relationship issue of such magnitude, I have heard of such cases in which people have really had to face their morals in order to make a decision that would permanently change life. One might think to themselves “Who do I think I am to interfere within the fabric of another person’s existence, and possibly break their heart forever?”
Values often use modified methods and styles; I have utilized these different ethics in my career, which has aided me in improving, the environment at work and in my life. Having these particular skills of approaching situations causes an optimistic environment, respect for others, honesty, and reliable outcomes. I have had the comfort of knowing whether, you’re working or at home or out in public, individuals appreciate this kind of merit. These values cause high points in your character with families, patients and your colleagues. Real richness comes from knowing you’re assisting patients with top-quality care, and these goals are obtainable. Identification of these values prepares an
