Everyone’s Least Favorite Chore A list of chores is pinned to the refrigerator to complete before my mother gets home from work. So far, I have vacuumed the carpet, cleaned my room, and swept the floor, but the most excruciating chore remains: washing the dishes. Washing the dishes would be quick and easy if I could stick the filthy dishes in the dishwasher, but it is broken. Instead, the mountain of food-covered dishes will have to be scrubbed clean by hand. I will have to prepare the supplies, scrape off the remaining food, rinse and dry the dishes, and put them back in the cupboards and drawers. Washing the dishes is a messy and burdensome process every household must suffer through, unless they want to eat off of paper plates for the rest of their lives. To begin the dishwashing process, I dig out the supplies. Mentally preparing myself, I grab the dish soap, drain plug, towel, and sponge. After I have all of my supplies on the counter, I reach under the heaping pile of slimy plates, pans, pots, silverware, and glasses to place the drain plug in the sink. Next, I fill the sink with hot water to soften the dried food clinging to the dishes. I attempt to not make the water too hot, but usually I fail and nearly burn off my fingertips. Once the water is at an acceptable temperature, I squirt heaps dish soap into the running water until bubbles start to foam over the edge of the sink. To have the slightest bit of enjoyment in the otherwise grueling process, I scoop

Summer break can be relaxing, however, students begin to be too comfortable with it; instead of studying during school, they grow to be as lazy as they are during the summer. The Editors, author of the article, Crush of Summer Homework, interviewed the chairman of the psychology department at Duke University, Harris Cooper. He stated, “The long summer vacation disrupts the rhythm of instruction, leads to forgetting, and requires time be spent reviewing old material when students return to school in fall” (The Editors). Consequently, an inactivated studying habit remains unacceptable as the behavior in school requires academic and engaged activeness. Not only do colleges also require heaps of effort, even high school. A.P. classes require to
There is a seven step procedure required to perform in order to follow the correct hand wash technique (World Health Organization, 2009). Wetting hands with warm water confirms whether temperature is comfortable enough to use, whilst making the process of hand wash faster. However if hands are left dry beforehand, it will damage the skin. Depending on the soap or alcohol rub applied on the hand surface, it will allow the liquid cleanser to kill all the bacteria within surfaces of the hands (Jamieson et al 2007). The hand procedure is roughly 40 to 60 seconds, this includes rubbing hands palm to palm. Rubbing the back of both hands with the other hand interlaced. Fingers entwined from palm to palm. Fingers entwined with back of fingers to opposite palms. Rubbing both thumbs within opposite hands rotationally. Rub fingers rotationally, backwards and forwards over each palm. By completing this procedure, it will ensure that the all surfaces of the hands are as antiseptic as possible removing all bacteria at present, yet it is impossible to keep the hands sterile as there is always the chance of the hands becoming decontaminated again. Afterwards, rinse the soap off quickly as long term effects of soap on an individual’s hand is that can
Humans are all so appalling, today i was doing the dishes and I realized how gross my family is. I am almost traumatized from the things i saw. I saw a crock pot filled with water corn and grapes, but the worst part is that there were 2 knives at the bottom of the crockpot. Did they expect me to put my hands in this horrible water like substance? No, I was not subjecting my hands to their horrible stench. Then suddenly it came to me, dump the crock pot and maybe I will be able to get the knives without having to wash my hands over and over again. I tried to dump it. I couldn’t. There was a tray resting next to the crock pot which was holding it down. I moved the tray cleaned that, then I was able to dump the crock pot and grab the knives
You can achieve the best results by simply using liquid dish detergent, room-temperature water, and a sponge. You can rinse it with a hose and let it dry without any problems.
I give this 4.5 stars out of 5.0... deducting .5 stars because this slotted spatula is designed for right-handed people. (Left-handers can use it, but it is more difficult because of the way the front edge is angled.)
The ability to wash the dishes requires motor, process and communication performance skills (Hersch, Lamport, & Coffey, 2005; American occupational therapy association [AOTA], 2002). Ruby was required to use bilateral motor skills to manipulate the tap and use isolated finger movements to scrub the plate, so her co-ordination needed to be smooth and fluid. She sometimes experiences difficulty with fine motor control and drops plates.

Remember being taught something new in a mathematics class and thinking to yourself, “when am I ever going to use this in life?” Sure, not every mathematical theory taught in class will be used in your career, but from my experience, many of the skills learned in mathematics are frequently utilized each day. While mathematics may not be everyone’s favorite subject, I found it to be not only the subject I use the most outside of school, but the one that I enjoy the most, which is why mathematics is my favorite subject.
My favorite academic subject that has influenced me would be my choral class because in that class it helped me break out of my shell when I wasn’t able to sing or do anything in front a group of people or an audience before. Before I took my choral class I had always had nervous breakdowns I was never able to do anything in front of a class or audience. I never thought that I was able to do the things I do now, I'm not entirely confident but I'm getting there. If I never took that choral class throughout my high school experience, I would've been the girl who never talks to no one and isn't able to present in front of a group person and who isn’t able to make any friends because she isn't able to talk to anyone. As I grew up, my parents always told me to do the things I love so I did and I went for a choral and art class because without those classes I wouldn't be the person I am today.

According to Kartha (200!), many people consider handwashing a waste of time. However, they are unaware that
I have many hobbies that I fill my time with. I enjoy reading. Ever since I was little my dad has called me a “voracious reader”. I am open to reading any kind of book, but I especially love realistic fiction, action adventure, and nonfiction. I also love playing sports. I did track for one year, softball for two years, gymnastics for three years, basketball for five years, and soccer my whole life as well as camps for tennis and swim. I find that playing sports has taught me many important skills including teamwork and reaching out to others as I’ve played with new people. These sports have also taught me the importance of staying healthy and fit. One of my other hobbies is music. I love music and find myself dabbling in piano and guitar whenever I have free time. I also play the trumpet and sing in my church choir. Lastly, I love baking and cooking. Although to my parents dismay sometimes (because they complain I’m making them fat) I always find myself gravitating to the kitchen and have acquired quite the collection of pans, sprinkles, food coloring, and other tools. My hobbies have taught me the importance of hard work and dedication and a love for trying new things.
