While volunteering with safe cat, I got to provide rescue for at risk animals, prioritizing on cats with serious medical conditions, along with fostering. I’ve had a two year experience in this foundation with nursing newborn kittens,helped take care of cats with medical conditions and foster the cats until we provide them with a home that has the best fit for them. Canines have been used in war for thousands of years for different purposes. In the United States Military they were used seldom until the beginning of World War II. Previously, they had been used to carry equipment using packs or sleds in the state of Alaska. Many other countries used dogs in war as well, including France, Japan, and Germany. The benefits that came with introducing dogs to the military were extensive, changing the way many operations were carried out as well as saving thousands of soldier’s lives. The canine’s natural abilities including their acute sense of smell, hearing, and speed were of great use to the military.

I sat and thought “what is a good way to give back to the community, but passionate to me at the same time” so I decided to help my elderly neighbor with some house chores and cleaning our neighborhood. I was determined to do this because I live around a lot of elderly people and I notice how difficult it is for them to do yard work or do the things that they once could. I felt positive about helping one of our elderly out because they can use it at times and even why you are helping out your actually being great company to them. The lady who I volunteered my time to was very friendly and we actually had a great time with each other. I helped her maintain her yard and pack up some things in her home to donate to the Salvation Army. After we got done in her home we took a walk around our neighborhood to clean and recycle things. I felt really good about this because i know i made a difference in the community just by cleaning my neighborhood and accompanied my partner in cleaning her home, it was a wonderful feeling because I know she really needed the extra hand and she told me she wished there was more teens like me around, that melted my heart and made me want to lend a hand out whenever i have free time in my day. I chose to work with her because everyday after school i would see her outside doing yard work and kind of struggling with carrying supplies.

Many women who meet the male fitness requirements necessary for combat are strong enough to perform in combat situations. Allowing women to participate in combat has a positive impact to the military because they can build bigger armies that include both men and women that can fight in combat situations when necessary. Females have more control over emotions. Males learn to be more independent and females are taught their self worth depends on their ability to sustain a relationship. Females have more problems from a failed relationship, such as depression, guilt, and feel like they have failed. Males are more likely to be aggressive and retaliate. Boys operate more from visual memory, where as females operate from long term memory (Juvenile Delinquency, 2005).
