Feminism Is Equality Feminism is a strong belief that states both men and women should be equal. Women should have the same rights, the same amount of respect, and the same contribution and acceptance in our society. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. Inequality between men and women is still just as relevant today, as it was decades ago.

For hundreds of years feminism woman fought for equality with men. They have been held back and their opportunities taken away from the political, and economic equality of the sexes. Woman have every right to be equal with men and feminism is what is slowly accomplishing this. It is a human right to be equal to others around you and it does not matter if you are male or female. They should both receive the same opportunities and privileges given in life and feminism helps women accomplish this task of equality. Woman should not be paid less in the workforce, or looked at as the weaker sex, or judged for what they or are how they act. And lastly woman should not be shut down for speaking their mind.

Contemporary Feminism is the initial movement of civil rights for women only, but since have expanded their concept to all sexes.

The question is if men and women are really judged equally when it comes to jobs, and the answer should be no. Although Feminism was already a topic I knew a lot about, I wanted to learn more about in order to be able to effectively explain it to people. I hoped to learn what feminism truly is, how it fit into gender equality, some good examples of feminism, and what feminism is still working for. I was hoping to learn all this in order to be able to show and tell people what feminism is, and to help get rid of any misunderstandings towards feminism. I also wanted to make sure I had my facts right about what I am often arguing for. What I basically learned is that unlike popular belief, feminism is actually the belief in the equality of all sexes. This includes equal opportunities in politics, economics, personal, and social life, as well as equal rights to education and employment. Through much research, I also learned everything else I wanted to know about feminism.

Different regions have put the effort in ensuring women get as equal chances as their counterpart gender, whereas some of the areas in the world have completely shunned the issue. Back then, women were considered property and were not allowed equal rights as men especially when it comes to education, job opportunities among several other issues. The United States has put in place various policies that enable females to have equal opportunities as men. The country has tried to make an effort to ensure equality of resources and opportunities regardless of one’s gender. Nonetheless, most areas have not fully embraced the fact that men and women are equal. In fact, some bosses disqualify applicants of jobs on the basis of gender. To date, women are still discriminated against on several issues. This discussion entails a few examples of discrimination against women. With each problem, it shall attempt to provide a solution to each problem.
