Major Stakeholders of the FIFA World Cup 2010 Stakeholders are an integral part of a project. They are the end-users or clients, the people from whom requirements will be drawn, the people who will influence the design and, ultimately, the people who will reap the benefits of your completed project. Stakeholders are any individual, group or business with a vested interest (a stake) in the success of an organization is considered to be a stakeholder. A stakeholder is typically concerned with an organization delivering intended results and meeting its financial objectives. It is extremely important to involve stakeholders in all phases of your project for two reasons: Firstly, experience shows that their involvement in the project significantly increases your chances of success by building in a
Stakeholders have a significant influence on the aims of an organisation. They are the people who are affected by or interested in the business. In some organisations the shareholders are stakeholders, and at times have some of the decision power. In trade organisations, customers are also considered stakeholders; therefore their needs are part of the organisation’s overall objectives.
It is undisputable that the U.S has opened the doors to many countries, establishing multinational corporations and emerging new markets to explore international waters to help other nations flourish and gain a competitive advantage. For many years Africa has been floating in the U.S radar. The U.S has looked for ways to cultivate the land, understand the culture; people and strengthens its relationship with the African government. In recent years the continent has grown significantly with the opportunity of U.S market access and the creation of new export trade avenues to Africa. In May 2000, The African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), a unilateral, trade agreement between Sub-Saharan Africa and the United States, launched new efforts to grow the African market. The enactment was deliberately created for eligible countries to participate in trade opportunities and to export their products to the U.S markets with duty free privileges. The opportunity has developed a substantial amount of trade and investment between Sub-Saharan countries and the U.S. Subsequently, the Doing Business in Africa (DBIA); campaign took effect on November 2012. The campaign’s major goal was to connect American businesses with African partners, to support existing and new U.S investments in Africa. Additionally, to inform and provide access to American companies to finance their exports and reduce barriers to trade and investment in Africa. In August 2014, the U.S and African leaders Summit
You seem to have learned quite a bit during the semester. I would agree with you that Stakeholders play a pivotal role. They provide good information and help drive the strategic plan.
In this article, Jen Fela explains the the 2006 World Cup set the standards of environmental “green goals” for future FIFA World Cups and how environmental measures have been taken for the 2010 World Cup. Fela reminds the reader that all mega sports events come with a price, and the 2010 World Cup has the hefty carbon price tag of 2.75 million metric tons of emissions. To combat this environmental threat, she calls South Africans to use the same techniques (such as using rainwater tanks and planting thousands of trees) that the Germans used to host the first carbon neutral World Cup in 2006. She also states that with the increase use of coal-generated electricity in South Africa, new ways must also be formulated to reduce the tournament’s carbon
It is important to identify stakeholders because in a way they are almost like your customers and even more like your suppliers, they are someone that is involved in the project, if someone is involved in something important to you then it is very important to know who they are so you know exactly who you're dealing with.

In order for the project to be successful, there must be buy-in from those who are affected. Those stakeholders, according to Friedman and Miles (2006) are any group or individual who can affect or is affected by the achievement of the organization objectives. Consideration should be given to both internal and external stakeholders when strategic changes are made (Ginter et. al, 2013).
In my opinion, stakeholder management is significant to the success of every project in every organization. By engaging the right people in the right way in all projects, it can lead me to be successful. However, my plan to engage stakeholders will start from I have to understand clearly each step of stakeholder management so that I can potentially communicate and engage with my stakeholders. First, what I have learned in this class is identifying stakeholders into primary stakeholders, secondary stakeholders, social stakeholders, nonsocial stakeholders etc. Classifying stakeholder helps me to prioritize our stakeholders more effectively. Second, prioritizing stakeholders is a useful way to know who affect or are affected by my work. It can be people or organizations. Some of these may have the power either to hold back or support my projects. Some may be interested in what I am doing, others may not care. Therefore, I will be able to know what opportunities and challenges my stakeholders present to my organization. Third, stakeholder approach is also critical way to manage my project or organization better because it can be more ethical and sustainable. I have to consider the responsibilities of my organization to my stakeholders not only making profits but also following regulations, being ethical and having good

The year 2014 is an important year for South Africa. The first elections after the death of South African ex-president Nelson Mandela will take place and after twenty years of democracy, the world will be watching us again. The world holds much interest in the economy and politics of South Africa as was discussed in Appendix A and Appendix B and it is safe to assume that the world is a stakeholder in the politics and economy of South Africa.
