Please be advised, the I-75 Express Lanes Project currently implements a number of procedures to ensure motorist safety during construction. The Department's contractors are responsible for providing work zone acceleration and deceleration lanes to allow construction vehicles to safely enter and exit work areas. These work zones access areas are constructed to meet the Department’s guidelines. To ensure safety within the construction zone, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has hired additional Florida
These departments are responsible for scheduling services, obtaining authorization prior to the scheduled date of the procedure, billing, and working with patients on billing questions and payment plans. While the hospitals provide outstanding customer service our office is responsible for obtaining and securing payment prior to and after services, along with scheduling patients to ensure that the hospital departments are booked at the maximum and appropriate level. The staff within the office building are very dedicated and work hard to ensure the best customer service attainable. Unfortunately, due to the increasing lack of space their jobs are being negatively
An incident/emergency stop would cause the closure of a general purpose and current/proposed HOV/express lanes, due to geometrically nonstandard shoulders. The lane and shoulder width reduction to less than the standard width to compensate for the proposed HOV and/or express lane alternatives should be limited. It is highly recommended the acquisition of additional right of way to accommodate the shoulder widening and eliminate the geometric
From Tuesday August 11 through Thursday August 13 we conducted an on-site review of Omnitrans Access Service. We spent time observing and speaking with staff at both the South I Street facility (East “provider”) and Feron Blvd facility (West “provider”). The purpose of this report is to record our observations and to make recommendations regarding policies and procedures in each of the functional areas – reservations, scheduling, dispatching and trip edit.
In a survey of Houstonians, over 82% of those surveyed says that they would rather travel on a four lane street compared to a two lane street because they feel that it is faster (Vu). With more lanes on Old Foltin Road and Essie Road, drivers will have more opportunity to switch lanes if the lane that they are currently on is slow or an accident has occurred on the lane. This will reduce the time spent in traffic. By reducing the time spent in traffic, one is able to help reduce the congestion by being one less car on the streets. Additionally, on a multiple lane street, there is typically a fast lane (“When”). The fast lane, usually the farthest left lane, is designed for drivers who tend to drive faster than others around them. The fast lane enables traffic to flow smoother which in turn will deduce the amount of congestion. “The left lane is saved for those currently passing. It is a very simple, yet effective rule that helps drivers stay safe and minimizes traffic congestion” (“When”). With the reduction of traffic congestion due to the fast lanes, drivers are able to have more time on their hands to spend with their families. By using more lanes, Old Foltin Road and Essie Road will be able to reduce the disruption of vehicles entering and exiting Our Lady of
The lack of traffic advisories affect businesses on West Lindsey Street. While traffic delays are likely, the City of Norman encourages citizens to continue supporting West Lindsey Street businesses throughout the construction (“Timeline”). West Lindsey Street businesses require more frequent traffic advisories about changes and short-term lane and ramp closures as the project progresses to keep their customers informed with on-the-ground updates.
Each department has to work hand in hand to not only boost attendance but to gain and retain fans. Here are just a few ideas that could be utilized from a GM standpoint.
Although driving to and from places is a normal part of many people’s daily routine, it is often forgotten that driving is a dangerous task that demands all attention of a driver for the safety of the occupants of a vehicle. For our safety, cities must provide the best roads and intersections to keep driving a safeguarded activity. As a resident of Tomball and a driver on the roads, I have noticed that the feeder road at the intersection of S.H. 249 and F.M. 2920 located next to Lowe’s and Chase Bank has caused big issues for drivers. Ever since S.H. 249 became a toll road, many Tomball residents have avoided paying high fees for driving short distances by taking this service road. This has caused much more traffic, especially, during rush hour around this area. Many businesses such as Ross, Target, Academy, and Chick Fil A are located here, and are contributing factors to the congestion. I myself have had a few close calls at this intersection. However, the issue did not become apparent to me until my best friend was in an accident at this intersection. Fortunately, she walked away from the accident unharmed, but her brand new car was totalled. Losing anyone at this intersection would be devastating for myself and my community.
The general manager of an all-suite property has been promoted to a bigger property with a $25,000 pay raise. On the Wednesday before his last day, the executive committee invites him for a night on the town. The committee includes the general manager’s personal assistant, the HR manager, the controller, the director of sales and marketing, the chief engineer, the front office manager, the assistant general manager and the director of housekeeping.
