Please accept my apology for any confusion created by the incongruence in rules administered by HR and Financial Aid. The overriding issue here is the restriction placed on college work study employees that restricts them to one job. While you were advised that Mr. Guidry would be allowed to work as a student worker and adjunct, he is not allowed under federal financial aid rules to work another on campus job in addition to his work study position. It is my understanding that Mr. Guidry would jeopardize his financial aid award if he were to continue working both positions. Unfortunately this is not a simple matter of giving him permission to work both jobs. For clarification, there is a distinction between the student work and college work
The following report was helping us explore why we should expanding employee benefits with in this he company. We had a good year but without a good year it would benefit the company so adding tuition reimbursement as an employee benefit would be great. It would help the employees working on their degree in business or communication as they are working for us so this can be a positive in more than one way showing we care about their interest expand their career by going back to school. The company is in the perfect position to proceed with the education reimbursement employee benefit due to the fact that
In addition to my experience in advising and student affairs, I have also worked as a professional in financial aid for the past eight years. During my time in financial aid I have seen first-hand the challenges students face with the cost of obtaining a higher education degree. My role in financial aid has evolved over my career while exploring the theoretical
In 1995, Doe v. Duncanville Independent School District centered around a female student-athlete and her unwillingness to participate in prayer activity. She claimed her refusal to engage in team sponsored worship subjected her to ridicule from teammates, peers, and spectators. The Supreme Court ruled that the school district had failed the Lemon Test by endorsing religion through employee-led prayer, which is a direct violation of the Establishment Clause (Lee, 2005). As a result, “school officials, administrators, and employees were prohibited from initiating, leading, sponsoring, or promoting prayer at athletic events, or using the public address system for similar purposes” (Willett, 2014). This may not have been the popular decision, but

This article discusses Jane Doe, a Texas high school girl sexually molested by a high school teacher. Jane Doe filed a civil suit against Taylor independent School District. The reasons were, the school board permitted violations of due process and violated her equal protection rights. Jane thoroughly established her constitutional rights and proceeded with her claim. The teacher violated the fourteenth amendment to be free from sexual abuse by a state employed teacher. The court ruled in favor of Doe, stating that there was no action taken in order to prevent the violation of her rights. This case impressed me, it was very interesting. I believe that the teacher violated the student rights and the school failed to properly respond to the claims of molestation. I was also shocked that the school district was not proactive toward Doe needs.
Speaker Ryan has proposed freezing Pell Grants at their current levels for ten years and would eliminate the mandatory spending funds of the program. Do you support this or other proposals to reduce per student Pell?
It was normal day like any another when I received my financial aid package from college. I remember the excitement that came with being one step further on the path to my life. And just as clearly, I can remember the sinking feeling I got in my stomach when I looked at my financial aid package. This was the first time in my life I had thought I might not go to college. After thought about education, experience, and money, I came to that college is worth the debt that may be incurred.
CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The Kanawha County Board of Education voted unanimously Thursday to terminate the contract of 67 teachers at the end of the current school year.
My name is Kerry Huxley, I am a recent graduate of Prosper High School. It has come to my attention that there is a debate whether or not we should accept or deny an offer made by Virtuosity regarding there new virtual reality system. I believe we should not accept this offer due to the flaw that technology can provide.
Medicaid is a federal grant given to states, disbursed to counties to provider insurance coverage for select populations. These populations include low-income families with minor children, pregnant women, coverage for nursing homes and as a secondary coverage to Medicare. Santa Clara County has a very high population of patients who receive Medi-Cal, California’s version of Medicaid. In today’s legal environment, individual civil rights have been affected considerably by recent Supreme Court activity. In most cases when trying to prove employer discrimination, there are two main theories “pretext” and “pretext-plus” (Bickham & Clark, 2005) that are used when impending burdens where employers are alleged of discrimination. These two discretions assist in the legal process to help determine ‘proof’ of Title VII violations.
Stoicescu-Ghica also noted that many undocumented students at the UC work. In his case, he estimated he worked 20 hours a week, the maximum amount allowed by UCLA during the academic year, in order to send money home. Other working undocumented students expressed similar sentiments, he said.
During week two, we were tasked to conduct a financial analysis of the Johnson family and assess their ability to independently fund the college educations of their three children. That analysis determined the two hundred dollars currently contributed monthly to each child’s college fund since each child was born will not fully fund their educations, given their ages, current balances in each college fund and the annual inflation of college costs. Assuming their available cash flow will only support the current monthly college fund contributions, alternative methods and financial tools must be explored to mitigate the shortfall. The purpose of this paper will be to research other college funding alternatives which may
