The intensity of the fireball sizzles the air as it flies straight into Faorit’s chest - causing the Evil Wizard to beam with pride and Caiorii to shriek in horror. However, the Evil Wizard’s face quickly drops as the smoke of the fireball clears. “How did you miss?” three identical Faorits ask in unison “we’re standing right here.” Feigning confidence as he readies his own strike against the Evil Wizard, Faorit muses to himself “Thank Desna that that worked. I probably shouldn’t try spells for the first time in life or death situations again.”
In the “Barn Burning” a key theme is courage. It is about a 10 year old brave boy named Sarty Snopes. He lives a scary lifestyle because of his father that burns down wealthy farm owners barns out of jealousy. Sarty has a passion for justice and he soon leaves his father but still looks at him as a brave man.
First of all, the fire represents the struggle of power between Jack’s tribe and Ralph's tribe when Ralph is determined to keep a signal fire going, the chance of being rescued is gone and Jack catches the island on fire. To begin with, as Ralph determines to keep a signal fire going on in the island, Jack struggles for power and begins to transform from civilized to savage. Jack is obsessed with hunting the pig more than being rescued. During the meeting, his eyes are filled with anger as he says,“I thought I might kill” (Golding 94). Later, Ralph responded, “…. “The Unwanted” by Kien Nguyen, is a book that can call to mind many different types of feelings through the situations that Kien Nguyen the author, faces in his childhood life. In “The unwanted” the theme of courage can be seen through the characters of Kien’s grandfather, Loan and Kien himself. These characters are able to stand up during the difficult times in the book to either help or protect others around them. At times in “The Unwanted”, these characters brings out great examples of courage that affected the minds of many around them in a positive way.

When stranded on an island, objects around may be helpful to survive or get rescued or some may lead to destruction. Well at least that is what happened on an island that teenagers were stranded on. The teenager boys from Lord of the flies, get stranded on an island because their plane crashed. While they are there, one of the boys named Piggy finds a conch. The same boy has glasses, which helps start the fire. The fire is what the boys use to help get rescued. All these objects like the conch, glasses, and fire are very symbolic in the novel. In the novel, Firestorm by David Klass, is gorms are always chasing the main character Jack. Gorms in the novel can shape shift into whatever they want. The gorms want to see the world come to an end and Jack is called "the beacon of hope" because he will stop the reign of the gorms in the future. Nobody knows what caused the Triangle Fire, and maybe no one ever will. Although, there is a writer that described the events so thoroughly that the images make it seem like we were there. This writer’s name is Albert Marrin. The way he is making these images so vivid is something that many amazing writers use. It is called figurative language. He uses many forms of figurative language in his describing of the Triangle Fire. The main reason he uses them was to make the writing more impactful. In other words, instead of using everyday words, he uses metaphors that allows us to comprehend the text, and it also allows us to relate to it. In "To Build a Fire," Jack London expresses his perspective of the multitude of greenhorns who flocked to the yukon in a rush for gold. It is evident that he believed that these newcomers were too inexperienced and blinded by gold fever to survive the trip. Like many of them, "the Man" is driven by his own foolish ego to act irrationally and to not follow wise advice. Though his consience continually nags at him, his ego-driven way of thought keeps pushing him blindly forward. The Man is not only representative of other fortune hunters like himself, but he also repersents every person on this planet. All of us, at some point in time, pushed our own consience aside and followed our own selfish ego.
