Flannery O Connor's Writing Style

Decent Essays
Flannery O’Connor uses a very intriguing style in his short story “A Good Man Is Hard To Find”. He has very complex writing styles that overlap when writing such a story. This story is about a grandma who is trying to convince her son, Brian and his wife that they shouldn’t go to florida because of ‘The Misfit’. She is trying everything to get her way with this, but gets nowhere. O’Connor uses complex characters to portray internal conflicts, a provoking setting, and puts an ironic twist on the end. ‘The Misfit’ himself is dealing with some internal conflicts. He seems as though he might have depression of some kind. Possibly fighting to fit in somewhere and make someone proud. The Misfit went to prison for a crime he claims he can't remember.
