There is a clear link between the food consumption and human life span, with food manufacturers in the middle of that relationship. Food manufacturing is of great significance in a society because they produce majority of the food that individuals eat. Excess amount of consummation require food manufacturers to produce great amount of product in a short period of time which also makes food manufacturing quite lucrative. Considering the lack of regulation by authorities and other factors, food manufacturers are receding on the information about the amount of chemical used in food processing. Fast-food like burgers and fries and food item like bottle drinks, cookies and cereal bars are easy-to-carry foods that are very convenient for the working class of America who is always on the go. Manufacturer claim that they are raising nutrient levels in food by adding more vitamin, iron and folic acid, certain ingredients that are beneficial to the health, and also to generate more sale. Food manufacturer’s uses chemical to manipulate the size of the food, the appearance and how fast it can be cooked to satisfy consumers’ need. These manipulations allow consumers to have access to a wide variety of products; for example zero calorie food and drink. These fortifying foods are the most demanded nowadays. Food manufacturers to respond to these high demands; they use techniques and Chemical processes in their favor to increase sales. Consumer demand for food is an important element in the formulation of various agricultural and food policies. The consumer’s food choice by US household influence what type of technique needed by manufactures to ship their product. Because of high demand in dietary food, food manufacturer are producing more food product that supposedly lower the risk of certain nutrient deficiency (destroying toxins in food).
