Football kinda like Gladiators one big war two sides trying to win but in football there are no swords and shield but on the other hand they do have armor not big heavy metal armor but 90% of the time it protects. There is lots of gear for different players but ima give u the basics helmet, shoulder pads, mouth guard, and pants/pads. But to start the team you need 11 players on offense, defense, and special teams and that would equal 52 players which puts each member of the team a spot. The scoring is quite simple the offense has to get ten yards to keep the ball and get first downs do that then you will be able to score a touchdown which will give you six points or you could kick it in for one point but if the defense stops them and
Gladiator games and football have more similarities than we believe. The number one component is violence. Crowds scream in excitement as the Coliseum gets covered in blood in the gladiatorial games. Comparing to today, fans scream and cheer as two teams tackle each other in a football game. Looking at modern day sports and the gladiator games, they suggest that football has just as much violence as the gladiator games played in the Roman times.
A NFL football player is someone who plays in front of thousands of people, and around the world people watch from home. Players get drafted to a team after players go through training camp but when players train players have to reach the expectations of a coach and those are height, speed, and weight.Training camps last from July up until the draft in september. Players can not give up in the middle of the game players practice every day to stay great at there position. If players want to stay with a team players have to sign contracts.
To finish off this system is the receiver core that is tasked with catching the ball and scoring. There are additional systems that make up the overall system called special teams who take the field during kickoff play. At any point in the game, whether it is the offense or defense on the field, there has to be eleven players ready to perform what they are hired to do according to coordinated and strategic game plan designed by the coaching staff. Very few fans notice the other systems involved such as the coaches and those in the observation the trainers, doctors and team managers who all have very different yet very important
The YMCA is and was my second home. I'd go there at least 4 days a week just because I was bored and had nothing else to do. My goal every time I stepped onto that basketball court was to make myself a little better and have some fun. It wasn't as nice of a court as the high school due to the slippery floors, the smell of sweat, and the noise of little kids screaming on the other side of the court divider. But it was better than nothing. When I was young I went there to screw around with my friends and to play horse, tips, and some not so serious “serious” games. But as I've grown it's less screwing around and more seriousness so we can become better. Nowadays us high school players, play “noon ball”. Which is games between high school players
Gladiator is in the manner that the main characters became slaves/gladiators and the aspect of how “freedom” is earned. Maximus on the other hand, was a Roman General that refused to serve for the Roman new emperor, Commodus, who had murdered his father, Marcus Aurelius, in order to obtain control of the Roman Empire. The biggest difference between Gladiator and Spartacus is the manner in which their respective freedom is earned. Gladiators freedom is earned thru defeating Commodus, who sentences Maximus to be executed. The story begins after he escapes his captors and rides off to his farm. This is after he discovers that his family has been murdered by said King/Emperor Commodus. Maximus collapses from exhaustion and is then picked up by slave traders and sold to Proximo, thus leading to his voyage of becoming a Gladiator and his fight against the King. Another difference is that Spartacus is pressured into fighting the best gladiator of the Roman army, upon the conclusion of his training however, he is defeated. Afterward he becomes leader of the Army of Slaves and in an effort to gain the slaves freedom back, he leads them to battle. After being captured, Spartacus ultimately has to fight it out with a slave who is also captured and the winner will be crucified. In Gladiator, Gladiators from all over the Roman
Walking with the crowd of Romans to the coliseum was breathtaking as I took a seat I could hear my heart beating in my ear. When the gladiators commenced the show with s chariot procession completed by trumpets then dismounted and ringed the arena, each gladiator saluting the emperor with the line Ave, imperator, morituri te salutant (Hail, Emperor, those who are about to die salute you). The crowd on the edge of their seats as the two men prepare their weapons I cheer in anticipation with the others. We all know this day will be the last for one of them, they circle each other, knowing they have to think fast to capture his opponent rather than killing him on the spot. The gladiators thrust their swords fighting in the burning sun with the
The cold, crisp breeze sprinted through the trees and bushes as I finished zipping up my jacket, exited the car and loaded the boxes into the anxious atmosphere of the Fine Arts Loading Dock. As I walked into the cafeteria, I saw the team greeting me and I knew I was in the right place. However, my happiness was short-lived. The team manager walked up to me and said, “The judges won’t turn off the lights. However, they will do it after the challenge.” It then occurred to me that the projector the team and I had worked on for months, and accounts for 30 points, might possibly fail. I walked toward them and donned my costume while they handed me the itinerary for the next five and a half hours. It showed: “ITINERARY FOR DI REGIONALS TOURNAMENT:
The end of the tremendously popular gladiator games ended during the reign of Emperor Honorius. An individual had yelled for the games to cease in the name of Christ, but he was soonly after stoned to death by the outraged audience. He had turned out to be an Egyptian monk named Telemachus. His death was one of the most impact deaths of a martyr in the Colosseum, it had put an end to the battles, however chariot races and other shows of games had went on but the bloodshed was finally over. Later the Roman empire had begun to dwindle. The city was attacked in 410 A.D. by Visigoths, the Roman capital had been moved to the an Italian city near the Colosseum. The visigoths entered Italy and destroymed much of Rome, and without the basic nessecities
The movie Gladiator is, like many movies, thought of as being historically accurate. When looking deeper into this thought one may find a different story about gladiators, perhaps an even more interesting one. The movie accurately portrayed gladiators when showing the …..
RULES- In football there are set rules that you follow if you tackle someone above the shoulders it's called a high tackle and if you push someone in the back the umpire will give you a free kick for doing those things. “Football is like life. It requires perseverance, self-denial, hard work, sacrifice, dedication, and respect for authority.”-Vince Lombardi. Offence is the ones to put points on the board most of the time. There are eleven players in each team. The positions are QBs, RBs, TEs, RGs, LGs, Cs, RTs, LTs, and WRs. I choose football Because that’s been apart of my life for a very long time. I also play in this sport I love everything about it. The hitting the crazy one hand catches. I love when my coaches yell at me. Because it makes me learn an understand my position alot more. So anyways some of the things u will need for this sport. Is one football helmet and Shoulder Pads an game pants. Those are the Main things that u will need for this sport. The next thing is you have to know what side of the ball you want to play on. For say I prefer to play on the defensive side. On the defense there are multiple positions u can choose from like Linebackers, safety’s Cornerbacks then your basic D Line. The other side of the ball is offence that’s also very different
