Football is one of the most popular sports in the world, especially in young athletes. Almost all football players face injuries though. From concussions, to career ending knee injuries, almost all football players suffer football injuries. The cost of an injury can be devastating too. But fortunately there are preventions to at least help stop so many injuries. One of the most common football injuries are concussions. A concussion is a change in mental state due to traumatic impact (Levine). Football players are very susceptible to concussions. The percentage of injuries to a football player, concussions happen 7.4% of the time (Kvcera). But all teams ensure that their players wear proper equipment. Playing fields must be safe to play on also. If the playing facility is not safe that is definitely a cause of injury. Holes In the field or broken glass and many other things can go wrong with the playing field that can cause injury. Players have to be taken care of as well. For older players, trainers must take care of their players. For younger players, it is the parents responsibility to make sure their child is safe and able to play football. I think you can assume that nobody wants to pay that, on top of an injury. The frequency of injury that occurs is from about 10 to 35 per 1000 playing hours (American orthopedic society for sports medicine). Numbers representing football injuries are ugly aren’t they? One of the most fatal injuries is to the face or neck. Broken neck can paralyze a player, and they could never be able to play again.
