As the manager of Ford Motor Company, Henry Ford said that their policy was to “reduce the price, extend the operations, and improve the article”. Ford wanted to mobilize America with the Model T. To do this, he had to cut prices to have the car be affordable to the average American. Instead of selling his cars as racing cars at exorbitant prices (as other sellers did), he cut the price or cars from $2000 to only $850. Along with this, his high quality products pleased customers and earned him more business and unexpected free advertising from those customers who found the Model T to be of superior making and usefulness.
