On the suspects body there was tiny specks of glass-like particles on his shoes and his clothing. When inspecting the suspect’s clothes the amount of fragments of the glass will allow us to identify how close the suspect was to the glass when the particles landed on him based off how much particles are present. Something else that should be considered is the type of clothing that he is wearing. Some types like wool will hold the particles better then nylon. Also we need to know if the suspect was fleeing the scene because some of the particles may have fallen off in the process. The crime lab would also need to compare the particles to any broken glass that remains at the crime scene for possible matches. Different techniques that could be used for comparison would be scanning for electron microscopy, neutron activation analysis, spark-source mass spectrometry, or flameless atomic absorption spectrometry. There are several others as well that could be used in the examination and comparing process of the glass. After different comparison techniques are done the primary examiner will require his or her supervisor to double check the work then it will be administratively
