It was a nice day on May 12th. Alice was at her home in Calabasas California with many friends and family over for a party. She didn't know it was actually her engagement party. Alice was 18 years old and her parents were Caroll and Deal Lillel. Her parents were very wealthy but she never cared about materialistic things, she felt like she didn't fit in with her own family. She decided to take break from everyone and decided to take a walk in the garden away from everyone else. When she was walking she saw a rabbit wearing clothes and everything. She was so confused and intrigued she decided to follow it. Alice stepped wrong and went falling into this hole that somehow was super long. It felt like it was endless but then after who knows how long she somehow …show more content…
She went into this store called Forever 20 and then these 3 people came up to her, she was so confused. Their names were Jerome, Shaniqua and Josh. “There you are, we couldn't find you. We need to head back to the apartment soon”, Shaniqua told Alice. Alice couldn't have been even more confused.” Is this my life in a different dimension?” Alice asked herself. Even though she had no idea who they were she felt like it was right to go with them, in a way she felt like she knew them for a long time. Off they went heading to the apartments apparently Alice has been living in know for a year even though she had no idea about it. The apartment was located in a neighborhood that reminded her of the movie ‘Boyz n the Hood’. This place was completely different from her old wealthy neighborhood and mansion she once lived in, but she felt more at home here. This was definitely not your ordinary world. Every town had their own president and everyone have to go to her “house” once a month to see how everything going. Everyone knows her as the queen of rap, Nicki Minaj but many thought that's just a crazy name but they had to go with it
Hi Alice! How are you doing? Fine? I hope so.
Alicia is a fairly tall individual standing at 1.78 with a slim body not weighing more then 76 kg. With her height coming mainly in her legs she often towers over people. Her arms are of a regular length going down to her hips. Her hands are very small almost too small in fact because of this she will often hide her hands from others when she can. Her hands aren't the only small part of her her feet and follow the same pattern. She has been wearing the same size shoes since she was 13 a fact she often tries to hide by buying larger shoe sizes and stuffing them hoping no one notices.
I squeezed her hand and said, “Ok Allie, I think it’s time to talk a bit. Nothing serious... Just light general stuff, OK?” To set the guide lines I said, “Have you heard they are going to stop sending more guys to the moon after these next few tries?” We talked about that for a while. Then it was her turn, she caught on to the idea and said. “Have you heard the new Rolling Stones song?” We talked about things like that for about a half hour, never once mentioning anything even remotely close to the topic that was weighing so heavily on our minds. There were still pauses as a new emotion would suddenly appear from one of us which would cause tears, but we continued with this because we both knew this was an act of reconciliation, and we were teaching ourselves to be together again.
“Alice” comes home and is determined to restart her life. Aside from her social life with people not wanting to hang out with her, she was
I walk into the Moore’s house, and go upstairs. I see Alice on the bed, and tell her. “Hey, I did it with Alec. Oh, and I also told him I loved him, and he said it back. I think I wanna marry him.” “Ok slow down there Anna.” “I know, I’m sorry its just the happiest I’ve felt since what happened.” I know, and that's fantastic lets just not ask him to marry you yet.” “Yea, I know. I should probably get some less revealing clothes on.” “Yea, I’ll be downstairs.” She tells me.
Alice is still trying to comprehend the idea of John taking a new job in a new state, as she was hoping he would take a sabbatical and spend a year with her during her time of declining cognition. Anna and Charlie pay their parents a visit and bring along their new children, Allison and Charlie Jr. The doorbell rings and John opens the door to let Anna and Charlie in. The couple and their children move to the living room to sit on the couch with Alice. “Ann”, Alice says, thinking that her deceased sister is seated across from her.
A youthful girl rushes down a narrow alleyway blanketed with snow; a worried expression on her face. This girl's name is Alice, and she is searching for her sister, Alma, who ran out outside of her house without permission quite a while ago. The sun was setting outside, and she longs for Alma to return home safely before the darkness swallowed up the streets. As she is walking, she notices a chalkboard pressed against a brick wall with numerous names scribbled across. While inspecting it, the girl recognizes Alma's name doodled across its surface. Behind this board lies a quaint little shop, and she determines that it would be beneficial to investigate inside for clues. She dashes towards its door in hopes of finding another indication of her lost sister.
“Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a slowly progressive disease of the brain that is characterized by impairment of memory and eventually by disturbances in reasoning, planning, language, and perception.” (Howard Crystal) In Health 1000 we were asked to read the book Still Alice. I have never dealt with or have done any study on Alzheimer’s disease before reading this book. After finishing this book it has really opened my eyes to how bad of a disease and how it cripples the mind. I never imagined the effect of this disease on a patient and the patient family. This book is about a upper middle aged lady named Alice who is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, and how she and her family learn how to deal with disease. One of the things this book
It was dark and gloomy outside and I was laying in my bed mourning the tragic loss of my dear Lenore. I couldn’t go asleep because thoughts of her kept emerging in my head. I was lost in my thoughts thinking about the snow that was about to be drizzling down upon the ground, and how she loved the snow. I look around and see the picture of her and me enjoying what we didn’t know would be our last time together. They say this time of year is the worst to lose somebody you care deeply about, and I could tell you now that they were absolutely right. All I can do now is to think about something else, but my thoughts of her are cemented in my head. I will just lay here in this haze I cannot describe, and mourn the passing of my dear Lenore.
Alice Brooks, a real estate agent, heads to the Gran Canaria accompanied by her husband, for some fun and relaxation under the tropical sun. From time to time, Alice experiences severe attacks of anxiety, as a persistent vision of a dark-skinned, slender woman named Tara who walks around escorted by her twin minions on a leash, threatens her and haunts her night sleep. While in the beach, in the middle of the vacation, Alice receives a call from her boss asking her to visit a nearby island to make a business deal with a wealthy, potential client. This is none other than the majestic Princess Tara Obongo, whose name bears a strange resemblance to the name of the woman in her nightmares, and plans to buy a property in Atlantic City. Upon arrival,
At the end of the book, Alice’s life had become a series of daily struggles due to her
Everything started with two twins, Lexi and Ava. Was something to break? Alicia did it. The twins are seniors in high school, and now the game has changed. They use Alicia to go out with guys they’d actually never go out with as themselves. When a boy shows up dead, Lexi knows it isn’t her. What if it was Ava? Either Ava is a murder, or Alicia is real.
From this story, I have learned not to ever take things for granted. All Alice wanted was to have a solid relationship with her mother and she never could have that. Whenever I become mad at my mom I will think of Alice who would do anything to have a relationship like mine with my mom. As a child, Alice made a speech about elephants and made sure it was perfected so her mother would be proud of her. She worked on it every second she got just as a chance to impress her mother. When Alice’s mother enters the gym Alice says, “Suddenly, my mind went blank. I could not remember a single word; I couldn’t find the familiar landmark of the next sentence. My breathing became the heartbeat of the world. I had practiced in this presentation
I saw Still Alice this week. I wanted to see the Glen Campbell movie (which I will watch later) but opted for this one first. What a stirring movie! Watching the progression of her decline, and realizing that she KNEW that she was affected, was very sad. It was heartening to see the support that her family gave her, even while dealing with their own issues. The fact that she was proactive on the front end, in obtaining the diagnostic testing helped her family be better able to understand what was happening and to support her. I love the fact that she and her daughter were able to have a better relationship, and that her daughter was truly able to see her mom, even when her mom had trouble seeing her earlier.
“… But’s that’s all it took. One heartbeat. A blink, a breath, a second, and everything I knew and loved was gone…” Alice Bell, a sixteen-year-old who’s life wasn’t like a typical sixteen-year-old. Normal sixteen-year-old would be out with friends, at parties, having boyfriends, ex boyfriends. But that wasn’t the case with Alice; her over protected father was very strict with her. Alice and her only sister, Emma, weren’t even allowed to be outside when dark approaches. Her dad would patrol the surroundings of the house, with a rifle in hand, and scanning every movement. Her dad talked about the “monsters”, that these “monsters” would feed on you, infect you, and kill you. She thought her father was a lunatic. Although Alice has yet to see the “monsters”, her father did. But the night of her sixteen birthdays, Alice
