Jack’s geology teacher asked him to write an essay discussing Fort McMurray’s Wildfire. He had a week to write this essay, but left it to the last minute. Jack knew Google could help him finish the assignment in no time. He started off the essay with his own ideas, but once it came to needing facts, Jack copied and pasted from the CNN news website. The next morning, Jack handed in his essay. When his teacher looked over his essay, he realized there was different fonts within the text. He googled those sentences and found exactly what source Jack plagiarised from.
Regina Barecca’s poem “Nighttime Fires” explains a complex view of the narrator’s father. This poem recalls a part of the unnamed narrator’s life that she is still trying to understand it in her adulthood. This poem illustrates the long lasting impression that was made on a little girl, whose father seeks satisfaction by watching the destruction that is caused by the nighttime fires. The poem creates imagery in the audience’s mind of a father’s character, as his grown daughter still remembers the events that took place when she was five years old. This poem is about a father, who is a victim of the economic downfall that leads him to be without a job; yet, his actions and behaviors are very unusual and unforgivable. The disappointment with the society that has made him unsuccessful in Regina Barreca’s “Nighttime Fire” tells us the thoughts that the speaker has towards her father.
“Earth itself is often referred to as a spaceship. But it is a mistake to compare living systems with machines. Mechanical devices constantly wear out with time unless they are carefully maintained and repaired by people. Living things persist on their own, healing, replacing, adapting, and reproducing in order to continue. If the total of all life on Earth is a super organism, then it must have processes that perpetuate its survival.” (The Sacred Balance, 2009). In the book The Sacred Balance by David Suzuki states that the Earth regenerates itself because it is a living organism that has the ability to go on without any maintenance or repairs. This statements deems true if Earth was solely inhibited by its naturel state of being without human
The Great Fire of 1889 is the reason why Spokane looks the way it does today. Even though this fire took the lives of many people, caused many to lose their jobs, their businesses and their belongings, the Great Fire of 1889 led to the expansion of Spokane Falls Washington.
Fire in Fort McMuuray brought a new point of view in my life. Before I thought helping is limited only to help within community, however now my vision is completely changed. We should always think beyond our self, think about as a mankind as whole. Don’t limit yourself within a small circle, think beyond yourself where race, religion are not matter
210 houses and buildings were destroyed (Wikipedia) and from this main fire, another 3 started in Lithgow, Springwood and Mount Victoria.
The Waldo Canyon Fire occurred on June 23, 2012 in Colorado. The area contained dry wild winds, and high temperatures as well as dry land; this resulted in the rapid spread of the fire. Firefighters responded to this situation by containing the fire spread, they checked the area where houses are close to vegetation. They evacuated the area to prevent more fatalities.
The Eagle Creek fire—allegedly sparked by teenagers playing with fireworks over Labor Day weekend—has so far consumed over 37,000 acres in and around some of the most cherished spots in the Columbia River Gorge. On September 14, with rain on the way, officials said firefighters continue to employ burnout operations along the eastern section of I-84 as the fire continues to grow.
A massive wildfire around Fort McMurray, Alberta, moved toward energy production facilities, which caused a shutdown that costed a Canadian manufacturer one million barrel a day. The fire jumped a firebreak area where plants and trees had been removed to stop its spread, moving north of Fort McMurray. About 4,000 workers were evacuated in the northern part of the area. The uncontrolled blaze covered 285,000 hectares, officials said that it was moving 30 to 40 meters per minute. If it keeps moving north, it has potential to impact a much bigger part of the production and impact facilities that were deemed as having no damage, a worker said. The fire also threatened Enbridge Inc's Cheecham crude oil tank farm south of Fort McMurray. The fire
Two different fires took place in two different decades, yet they were eerily similar to each other. One was in Mann Gulch and one was on Storm King Mountain. Both of these fires became disastrous because there was a collapse of sense making and things were no longer working for the people involved. The people did not know what to do or where to turn, and thus where unable to make sense of what was going on. In this essay I will compare the two fires not only with themselves, but also with one of Lencioni’s dysfunctions. I will then propose a solution based on Lencioni’s recommendations that could have helped the team in Mann Gulch apply some structure and make sense of what was really happening.
The Monstrous and merciless fires have had a huge impact on the community and significant consequences. There are many small businesses in the Blue Mountains area that were hugely impacted by the fires. Most of the businesses are struggling with normal circumstances and business owners are often using money from their personal savings to keep the company going. These fires forced business owners to write off around 10 days as lost, and focus on recovery, continue to pay wages with little or no workers still working, also businesses have no support or funds to bring them back to a stable income. Tourism also took a huge fall as many canceled bookings due to the fires have caused a huge loss to the Blue Mountains community as most of their income

Forenote: I have little experience in nature and so this work will be entirely fictitious and feature fictitious characters, and takes place in a fictitious world
I hate uncontrollable wild fires because it ends up destroying thousands of acres of beautiful forests, it provides oxygen, homes for the animals, the fires hurts us and could destroy our homes too. The fire pollutes the air around us too.
