The almost deserted airport, the freezing cold plane ride, my noisy family; yes, we are definitely ready for a vacation! Hot Florida sun and a ocean that stretches as far as the eye can see were all awaiting us. The thrill of it all ran from the top of my head to the bottom of my flip flops that will surely be on the beach in no time. Looking out the window of the airplane with popping ears, we came into landing at the Fort Myers airport! The heavy luggage pulled my arms down while walking out of the airport to find a rental car. The Florida sun and a hot breeze blew on my face, instantly lightening my drowsy mood. Little did we know that we had to wait about 25 minutes before getting our car, and sitting directly in the sun with a sweatshirt and pants on was unpleasant. Honking the horns on both of the Jeeps we rented, we quickly threw our belongings in the trunk, hopped in the air conditioned vehicle, and …show more content…
This was the day I went parasailing for the first time! I have always wanted to go and now I finally got the chance. Of course, we had to wait in an incredibly long line, but Dairy Queen fixed the problem. After waiting about 30 minutes it was my aunt and I’s turn to go on the boat that would take us out to parasail. A few miles out into the open ocean later, and we arrived at a bigger boat that held the parasails. The clicks of the buckles around my waist boosted my adrenaline even higher than it already was. 3, 2, 1, goodbye! Off we went, the wind catching our parasail and gliding us up further and further in the air. Now, after getting up as high as 800 feet above the water, I got a little nervous. I thought we would be sitting on more of a seat, but all we were placed on were seat belts! Nevertheless, the views were breathtaking. I could see so much of Fort Myers and so much ocean below me. I wanted the experience to last longer than 7
In the summer of June 2014,I woke up at 4:30 Thursday morning and got ready, packed our suit cases in the trunk of my car. Then I woke up my 4 daughters and they got ready really quick. Funny how for school they drag to get up from their bed and get dressed. But that day they didn't even hesitate to get up because they knew we were on vacation. Me and my girls were really excited to take our first road trip to the beautiful beach of South Padre Island . Of course it is gonna be a long drive but we were excited because we will be sight seeing and singing along to the radio. My family lives about 35 minutes from the beach, in a little town not to far. So when we all got in the car ,I drove to a gas station to fill up my car with gas for our trip and to grab a strong cup of coffee with hazelnut creamers.
I figured being a furniture salesman would be a smooth, and easy job while I was studying for a degree in intelligence. I learned very quickly, that the area that I am currently in is not so friendly on the furniture market. People use furniture every day; when you wake up in your bed in the morning, sit at a table to have breakfast, or relax on the couch after a long day, it is scattered all over your house. In 2013, the furniture industry sold over $101 billion, making it one of the most popular, and best-selling commodities in the United States (U.S. Furniture Retail, n.d.). The market for this product can be a very interesting, and dependent market, especially in my area, Fort Myers, Florida (Southwest, Florida or SWFL).
Passing the Fernwood sign, as I approach her gravesite early morning before work on 7/10/15 at 6:30 AM. I drive up an uneven gravel driveway dodging the grooves, looking at the back mirror noticing the dust my back tires are kicking up. The feeling of crunch vibrating off my tires, as the feeling you get when you are getting a massage on the nail salon massage chair. Just the calm vibration running from your toes to the fingers on the steering wheel. The grooves freshly filled with water from the rain the night before. Driving past the rusted looking water pumps used to feed the plants. Looking through window, noticing all different flowers laying on individual gravestone. Some vary from fake flowers but most are real freshly bloomed flowers,
If you're into the beach and sun then you may be surprised to learn that every year from December 15 through April 1 is the best time to visit San Diego, at least as far as whale watching is concerned. This four-month timeframe is when at least 25,000 Pacific grey whales make their annual ocean migration from the South Arctic to Baja California with a stop over along the coast of this southern California community.
A few years ago during the summer, my family and I took a trip to the lake. We do this about every summer, but this trip was different. We rented a lake house for the weekend so we could stay out on the lake for as long as we desired. One night when we were out later than usual, my dad let my sisters and I take turns driving the boat across the lake since it was practically one in the morning and almost no other boats were out. My turn was fun, but what I enjoyed most that night was standing in the middle of the boat while my dad cruised around on the waters listening to the radio. As the wind blew through my hair, I closed my eyes and let my worries
So finally we reach my grandma’s house after a nine hour car ride with two slobbery dogs, two grouchy teens, and one fed up aunt. When we got out of the car there were millions of endless hugs and kisses, and you can’t forget about the “How are you? I missed you so much”es. But I’ve been sweating like a pig for way too any hours and all I could think about was how cold that pool would be when I plop into it. After cooling down we had family time and managed to stay up till the crack of dawn late instead of taking our behinds to bed. The next day my New York family flew down, but they were way too tired to take on the adventures the next day would bring us.
It was a cold fall day when we decided to take a trip down to the Cataract. The traffic was light on the way there, my mom falling asleep in the back while I talked to Jeremy while he was driving. Every time I looked out of the window I saw beautiful shades of red or yellow. The second to last road that we turned onto was a gravel road with a bunch of twists and hills. Jeremy loved these type of roads, especially when he had the blazer to play with. We passed our usual spot that we take to get to the lower falls and turned onto the actual road that takes us into the park itself.
The streets of North Attleboro were damp and dark while wet yellow leaves stuck to the sidewalks. My brother and I contested to blow clouds of cold breath highest into the dark sky. Running around trying not to slip onto the hard concrete our mother gave us our bags. Carrying my spiderman suitcase the doors to the hotel automatically split side to side. The soles of my shoes still wet with water I saw a boned dinosaur standing steadily over a pool. Wanting to jump into the pool my brother and I wanted to grab our swimsuits. My mother told us not until tomorrow while my sisters rolled there eyes for they were all extremely tired. Tomorrow seemed to be an eternity although the dinosaur would be waiting for me. Father walking over, checked us
On the Fourth of July of last year, I woke up that morning ready to take my siblings to a creek where we could enjoy the beautiful day before the night, thinking that nothing could go wrong. We all prepared our things, making sure that we had everything we needed, as far as swimsuits, floating devices, and most importantly food and drinks. On our trip, things took a worst when I shattered my heel because of wasps.
When my mom, dad, sister, and I woke up at three a.m. on Saturday, I felt such a buzz of excitement, that I wasn't even tired! This was going to be my first time out of the country! My family quickly got ready and ate breakfast. Then, we drove for about thirty minutes to get to the airport.
When I was 11 years old, I went hiking at the Grand Canyon. It was amazing since we were 7,000 ft. in the air and we were higher than the birds flying. The rush going through my body
I had always wanted to try parasailing, but I never thought I would have the opportunity. When I was told I would be able to, I was thrilled. My friend Kenna and I wondered what it would be like to be looking down at the salty ocean. Would everyone look like tiny ants? Would I be chilly in the wind? We became jittery just talking about all the amazing things we would see. This was the morning I was going to fly into the sky like a bird.
I had been planning for the day I left for Hawaii for months and the day finally came. It actually came a lot quicker than I thought it would. I was so excited I could barely contain myself! When June 8th finally came around I jumped out of bed at 8 o’clock that morning and got ready as fast as I could. My flight didn’t leave till noon that day but I just couldn’t wait any longer! Even though we were going to Hawaii for my Mom’s work, its still a trip to Hawaii, and it was definitely one I will never forget. My grandma picked my Mom and I up from our house that day around 10:30 a.m. and dropped us off at the airport. I remember sitting at the gate waiting to board the plane to Salt Lake City, Utah feeling
It has been six very long days, I cannot wait any longer for the chapter to be uploaded, I am both excited and exhausted. The days usually pass me by finding new short stories to read, which for the most part lasts a day or more. Then I am back to finding new stories and I always find some good ones, because of the several genres that are on the website. The website is called Wattpad. It is where my favorite writer can make his talent shine. The website is where the youngsters and college students get their best drafts up on the website for the readers to enjoy and as the time passes the writers grow into their best version of themselves in the writing department. The writers are mostly college students and High Schoolers that have a love for writing. The books have many genres but my interest will always be in the romance books. The romance genre is popular since it's mostly teenagers that are acquainted with Wattpad. Even though the romance books can get a little repetitive I love how the plots are always twisted to the author's liking. The books are rarely complete mostly, because of the authors' lifestyle, whether they have too much to do in school or their interest goes to another story they have been writing. The incompleteness irks me since that means I would not know what is going to happen. I try to stay away from the unfinished tales, nevertheless, I end up with one in my reading list anyway. The story I am currently interested in is incomplete, that is only
I woke up early in the morning to the loud sounds of luggage being dragged against the hardwood floor downstairs. I quickly remembered with exhilaration that today was the day we were leaving for New York! My family had been waiting for this day all summer. I jumped out of bed and brought all of my stuff to the car. After we jammed all of our suitcases into the car we began our eight-hour drive. I slept for most of the drive as we traveled north. Eventually, we got to Manhattan. I was ready to finally get out of the car and stretch my legs.
