NO, NO, NO, FOSTER CARE FOR PONYBOY! Some people think that Ponyboy needs to be put in foster care, but I say NO. Ponyboy does not need to be put in foster care because he would not be able to see his brothers, or friends. He will not be able have as much fun or run around as much. Soda loves Pony along with Darrell and if Pony was in foster care he would be able to tell if they did or not. Ponyboy needs to know his family is there when hew needs them or not.
I think that pony boy should go into foster care because being around the greasers is messing with his life because they were always getting in fights or jail on the other hand they also look out for him based on my prior knowledge pony boy needs the guidance of adults and not the guidance of the reckless violent group of boys that get into jail every other day .
The only problem, that occurred while on the initial visit to the prospective foster carer, was how long the process takes to become a foster carer. It was explained on the visit, that the next step would be skills to foster course. However, the nearest course was fully booked and so the prospective foster carer would have to wait for the next available course. Overall, the process could take up to 1 year, however the prospective foster carer believed she could foster sooner. This was the only difficulty for the prospective foster carer and the social worker, as they cannot speed up the process even though the foster carer has substantial potential.
In the novel, “The Outsiders,” Ponyboy is challenged by if he should stay with his big brothers Darry and Sodapop, or go into a group home. Ponyboy's’ parents died in a car accident which leaves Ponyboy with Darry, who lives in an area infested with gang members and poverty . Darry really loves Ponyboy and he doesn’t want Pony to go into the system. Ponyboy should stay with Darry, because he would be with family, in a negative environment.
One reason Ponyboy should not be living with his brothers is that he was running away from the police, charged with murder. Ponyboy was with a friend in the park when he gets jumped by Socs, the group of rich kids. When he is getting drowned in a fountain his friend kills the Soc. He then goes on the run where he has to hide in an abandoned church for a long time. Children should not be running away from the police. If he had a responsible parent, was with adults that looked after him and didn't let him get into trouble, it wouldn't have happened.
The reason that Ponyboy should stay is before he only lived with his brothers, he lived with his parents and siblings but, their parents unfortunately died in a car accident and his brothers and friends are all he has left and it would not be right to take him away from the people he is close to. A quote to support this are, “What would it be like, i wondered, in a different ceiling? What would it be like in a different bed, in a different room? There was a hard painful lump in my throat that i couldn't swallow.” (Hinton, pg.
In this class, there is an argument about if Pony boy should go to foster care or if he still could stay under his oldest brother's care. In my opinion, I think Pony boy should go to foster care. The reason why I think he should, is because he is hanging with the wrong people. If he goes to foster care he would do better, because he would be away from bad influences. Hanging with the wrong people could get Pony boy in trouble with the law. He could go to juvenile, because one of his friends could have shot somebody and Pony boy could have been blamed for it. That is why I think he should go
Although this may be true foster care is a better place for Pony Boy to go. Even though his brothers are taking good care of Pony Boy. Its just a few things that are negatives. For example his brothers let him smoke. Also he wants be out all night getting into gang related activity.
Ponyboy will not go to foster care. He stays with his family, he need his family to support him, protect him from other gangs, and have better lives with people that knows him and loves him. Foster Homes is not a safe place . There are 45% white kids in foster homes . Foster home is not a fun place to be. Ponyboy needs Sodapop and Darry . Ponyboy doesn't need foster care. Pony Boy needs a stable environment . Even Though ponyboy brother Sodapop and Darry are young . Soda is 17 years old, he holds down a job. Pony boy loves soda a lot. Because he is like a dad to Pony . Darry on the other hand is more strict on Pony about grades, fights, and being home on time. For example Darry doesn't like pony boy skipping school, not doing homework, and begin late home.
Some awful things we hear about the foster care system makes the system seem like it is awful, but in reality the system was created to help the foster youth. Some examples would be that the system does not help after a child has entered into a foster home, but the system pays a monthly supplement to the foster parents to pay for clothes and medical expenses. Despite the common belief that foster care is an awful system, but in actuality there are programs within the the foster care system that help youth and the main goal is to reunite the foster children with their biological parents.
Everybody needs a family, even older children in foster care waiting for adoption. Teenagers are less likely than young children to get fostered or adopted, because everyone wants the perfect young child. More people should foster and adopt older children and teenagers, because it positively impacts the lives of the youth, family, and society. Children in foster care go through harsh things in life and need the love and support from a foster or adoptive parent. Not only does fostering or adopting older children change their lives but it also impacts the lives of the people parenting them. Society is positively impacted by teenagers being fostered or adopted.
Foster care is a program that is beautiful and lifesaving. The government has worked hard to make it an opportunity for children to access a better life and a brighter future. However, it is also a program riddled with flaws and injustices of many kind. Many have been denied a support system once they graduate out of foster care. Some entered foster care after suffering from sexual abuse, yet had dismissed court cases because they did not have enough physical evidence to properly accuse their abuser. Another major problem riddling the foster care system is the lack of mental health care for children entering the system that have been through intense amounts of trauma. This issue is very prominent, yet it receives little recognition from the
Why not invite your home to a foster child. There are twenty-two percent of males in foster care and forty-eight of females. The percentage of their living areas is four percent pre-Adoptive homes, twenty-nine foster family homes (relative), forty-six percent foster family home (nonrelative), six percent group homes, eight percent institution, one percent supervised independent living, 1 percent runaway, and five percent trial home visits. In 2014 two hundred thirty-eight thousand two hundred thirty left foster care. Fiftyone reunification with parents or primary caretakers, seven percent living with other relatives, twenty one percent was adopted, nine percent was emancipated, nine percent was guardianship, two percent transferred to another
Foster care is very beneficial and common in Ontario, it provides many great benefits for families, and children in need. Under the Child and Family services act foster care is defined as the placement of a child or young person in the home of someone who receives compensation for caring for the child but is not the child’s parent. All children who are having troubles at home do not just get thrown into foster care, there is a process that is brought into families having difficulties by the Ontario’s Children Aid Societies (CASs). They work hard to analyze behaviours in a family, and try and keep a family together and the children at home, until seen that the family is unfit to support and provide for the child(ren). At that time, the children are taken until the family proves
My parents are divorced, and have been since I was about seven years old. I hardly remember what life was like before then. But despite my parents separation I have never been without proper care, and in this way I am fortunate. On any given day, there are nearly 428,000 children in foster care in the United States. The average age of a child in foster care is nearly 9 years old, and in all states in the US at least 50% of the kids in foster care are males. Until now, I personally, have never known much about the process. I have a few friends who were adopted and I’ve watched a few seasons of the show The Fosters. But I hardly think that qualifies as quality knowledge about the issue. What I have learned is this: Children are suffering in
Though Hawthorne was a Puritan but “he disdain the puritan morality, pride and prejudice which led him to write The Scarlet Letter by showing of a unique character, plot and allegory on the Puritan Society” (Madden, 1990, p239). Puritan believes in punishing sinners by giving a death sentence to an individual who commits adultery, so that no one would dare to make the same mistake again in the future. However, in Hawthorne’s novel - although it was written in the 17th century, which is a puritan era - Hester was made to live, but had to bear a scarlet letter on her bosom for her entire life until death claimed her. In the novel The Scarlet Letter, Hester Prynne is the heroine and I strongly disagree that it is impossible to fully sympathize and identify with her
