For eighteen years now my parents have influenced me to do my best in academics and extracurricular activities. Both of my parents have gone to college and both have had successful careers. My dad was a highly recognized Police Chief for Waukesha County and is now on the

NHS is an organization made up of students who regularly demonstrate the four pillars of NHS: Character, Leadership, Scholarship, and Service. Saydel’s chapter of NHS should model outstanding service and leadership within our school and community. Doing so will create a positive environment amongst our community members and students. Utilizing my strong leadership abilities, I believe I can help our chapter of NHS flourish. My strength in organization, self-determination, and ability to engage others will make me a great asset to our NHS

“We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort.” When Jesse Owens said this, he probably was thinking about success in sports, but this quote can be taken in so many more ways. I view it in the way where it inspires others to have the willpower to achieve life's’ goals. To have full devotion to the task at hand is a major quality of an honors student. I have reached the point in my life where I am able to dedicate my time to something as important as National Honors Society. The honor of being considered for NHS is not something I should take so lightly. There are still the four aspects of being a member that the honors society values deeply; leadership, service, character, and citizenship.

Scholarship, leadership, character and service are all characteristics found in a National Honor Society member. I believe that I possess all of these characteristics and should be given the honor of receiving this NHS scholarship.

As a hard-working, committed individual, I believe that being a member of National Honors Society will significantly benefit my personal character, academic achievements, and social life. After conducting some research on National Honors Society, I have come to learn that NHS needs students that exemplify the qualities of character, service, scholarship, and leadership to be qualified for membership. By being qualified for this outstanding opportunity, I believe that I can attain leadership skills, and confidence which can be beneficial in the years to come.

Being selected as a member of Grove School’s National Honor Society would be a great honor for me because I hope to achieve my goal of exhibiting my dedication to academics, community service and extra circulars. I strive to be a role model and a resource for my peers by guiding them in the right direction. I think I could be a valuable addition to NHS because I have a strong work ethic, have a passion for helping people and not only meet but exceed all the qualifications of leadership, character, service and scholarship.

It is an honor to be considered for NHS. To me NHS is a place where gifted individuals can continue to grow as people and polish their talents. As a past NJHS member, I would like to find myself in NHS.

To be a leader, others need to believe in you and believe that you are making the right choices daily. I am a leader, in a way, because people come to me for help and I make time for them. Now, one way that a scholarship trait can be demonstrated by character is the responsibility of a student to spend time and learn new ideas and facts and implement these ideas in their daily lives. Finally, one way that a service trait can be shown through character is by caring about the community and the school. One way of doing this is if you notice something wrong or something that can be better in the school or the community, you should contact the school principal or a neighborhood organization and tell them what you believe and don’t expect anything back, such as money or awards. I plan on doing things like this next year, including a debate club, a gardening club, and a tutoring

In the course of my hard work I served by tutoring and staying afterschool to help students excel in their understanding of the four major subjects Math, Language Arts, Science, and even Social Studies. Another service is in my church, when I help the priest during the liturgy. Waking up on Sunday around 7: 30 A.M helping the priest is a task I enjoy accomplishing. Helping my dad around his bakery and making extra community service hours is another service. Around the bakery, I help clean and retrieve items for bakers in need.

Members of the National Honors society gracefully and diligently display four important characteristics during and after their induction. These individuals set examples to others through these important traits: scholarship, leadership, character, and service. All of these characteristics are very important and unable to be fully mastered without the other. But with everything, there is always a core or a center. This core of the traits is leadership. Leadership is unattainable without respect, charisma, compassion, and intelligence. A trait taught through the previous characteristics. But leadership is the base of it all, allowing an individual to put together amazing events and providing an opportunity to others through their actions. A

Being a candidate for the NHS is an honor itself, this shows how much I have progressed towards my academic goals, and it also shows that my hard work is finally being taken into consideration. Thanks to the NHS if I am given the opportunity to become a member, my devoted time and effort into my grades as well as my character will be recognized and be taken into the next level of success. Joining the NHS is very significant for me because it will take me a step closer to my future career goals. I think I should be admitted to such a prestigious group of academic achievement, because I show characteristics that will make a great nominee for the NHS, such as. My GPA has remained no lower than a 3.97 throughout the entire year, I did research on the college I wish to assist and according to the college if I keep the same effort that I give now there is not a doubt that I could attend my dream college. By joining the NHS I will probably get a higher chance of attending that university and I can assure this because I recently completed a personal project named “The Dream Board”, which is the career path I created

I have been a part of different activities for my community service. I offered to volunteer in my church in the Vacation Bible School, Tiger Link Crew, Knight of Columbus, International Dinner, and Fall Festival. What I am most proud of doing is Vacation Bible School. I enjoyed being a part of the Vacation Bible School because it gave me good experience to be involved with children.

National Honors Society students also exhibit the individual traits of sincerity, reliability, and honesty. My service experiences have made me become more sincere and genuine. I wish to provide hope for better lives in everyone. My history with leadership shows that I am willing to put forth the hard effort to help make dreams comes true, not just for me but for everyone else around me.
