Talking and hearing about Four’s story has held my attention, because of how interesting it is. I have started to like Four the most at this school, because of his unique personality. He also has taught me that he will do anything for many people, because he is so protective. When Jeanine told Tris and him that they will be executing Tris, he said “No, I would rather die” (432-433). Four would rather save Tris’s life and die than to live knowing he let her die. His protective trait will let him go far in life, because many people will trust and like him. Four told me that when he found out that Jeanine was going to execute Tris, he started to strangle Jeanine, Tris was injured and could not do anything about, so Four needed to help and stepped in place. They both were in a bad situation, and the only way out of it was to do something quick, although it might have turned out bad. From all of Four’s great stories so far, I have learned he is caring and passionate about most of his friends and families, although when he told me …show more content…
When Tris was apart of the initiates, Four told me she was the first person to jump, which shocked everyone; normally initiates from Abnegation, or ‘stiffs,’ as other factions call them, jump first very rarely. When Four helped Tris off the net, he said the Tris stared him at such an intriguing way, and that she did very often. After he took Tris and the rest of the initiates on a tour of Dauntless, they went to dinner; Tris and her friend sat next to Four, which creeped him out at first, but found it somewhat amusing. The next day, Four took them on a train to the border of the faction and showed them what it looked like. Four noticed Tris was staring at his arms the whole ride, which made him assume that Tris was super intrigued and captivated by
In FOUR, the conflict is exhibited within the main character. Tobias chooses the Dauntless faction, opposite from the Agnegation faction; himself, being in pain from abuse and death there. Now as an initiate
Tris has two strong relationships with her brother Caleb and Dauntless leader Tobias. These two relationships take a toll on Tris’s life, leading her as we know to her end. These relationships help Tris grow into the selfless and brave person she aspired to be, but also challenge her persona. We see a lot of Tobias saving Tris throughout the Divergent Series and many conflicts arise within them.
Tris however was not the only dauntless member that was divergent. A man named Four which was one of the leaders in dauntless was also divergent. Four was just a nickname Tobias was Four’s real name. Tobias was nicknamed Four because he could pass simulations within four minutes
He did this by showing Tris that their is always a larger consequence for her reckless actions. For example, he saved her from execution by planning an escape, but since Four saved her she realized that her life is very important.
This quote by Tobias (Four) really shows the issues in their relationship. At this point Tris is trying to get answers without Tobias knowing. She has promised him that she will no longer make stupid decisions that could end up killing her. However, Tobias discovered her plan and refuses to let her go on alone. In assents he is putting his life on the line just like she is, to prove a point to her.
The Dauntless are brave, the Candor are honest, the Erudite are intelligent, the Amity are peaceful, and the Abnegation are selfless. At the age of 16, people choose which faction they want to live in for the rest of their lives. Four is a character that
This book is Four’s life before he met Tris, and when the meets Tris. So us readers get to see what life was like in Dauntless. We don’t really get to experience the jobs that they get after they become Dauntless because Eric and Candor decide to destroy Abnegation. The beginning of the book makes me consider how bad Four’s dad really was. Training was also interesting to see from another person’s perspective. We get to see Four’s struggle while he was training. No one helped him pass training even though he was Divergent. We also get to see how Four wants to leave Dauntless and become Factionless but then Tris comes along and he instantly falls in love with her and stays. There is one part of the book that becomes interesting. In Divergent, Tris does all of the combat fighting first. And in Four, they do fear landscapes first because they were trying something different. But the Dauntless don’t do experiments, they just want someone to manipulate. The main people of Dauntless and Jeanine become aware of things that they shouldn’t be aware of. Making a pawn means they want someone that is young because they are easier to ‘shape and mold’. It’s like creating someone that will help them make Dauntless the way that they want it to
I left the region between my legs hairy too. He always liked me "primitive", and, honestly, I couldn't be bothered. The last thing I need to be wasting time on is trimming my pubes. Besides, my hard-done-by husband, Ben, doesn't even go down there anymore, never mind a dead ex-boyfriend.
Today was the big day, we've worked and waited all year for this, the Tri State Finals. Me, Mike, Josh and Tanner were not willing to accept anything other than a win, we have tried before and this will be our last chance, since we were in the eighth grade.
Tris come to the realization out she is ?Divergent?, which means that not only does she has the skills of Dauntless and Abnegation but that she has the skills of all the factions. Tris has the traits of Abnegation, Dauntless, Erudite, Candor who believes ?dishonesty makes evil possible. Truth makes us inextricable.? (West, Web), and Amity who believes ?Trust. Self Sufficiency. Forgiveness. Kindness.? (West, Web). The superior, Jeanine sees Tris as a threat to the society. Jeanine believes that someone who is divergent is a risk to the society and the order that they have placed already. In their quote it states, ?Intelligence must be used for the benefit of society, and by this it could mean that the capturing of someone who is divergent will benefit the society in every way possible. The divergent won?t cause disorder, overturn of the society, or danger if they are
It was just the beginning of February. The winter cold, brutal, and yet normal for the people living in Michigan. My best friend Brian, his uncle Craig, and I were driving back together from Craig’s up north cottage. Brian and I were riding passenger with Craig in his Chevy Silverado pick-up. We were coming back from the annual Perchville Polar Bear Plunge that took place in Tawas, Michigan. A lot was on my mind since it was the second semester of my senior year, and graduation was right around the corner. I had no idea what I wanted to do, or where my future would take me.
Four is a book in the Divergent series. It is about a man named Tobias Eaton.
Tobias begins his perspective, remembering the pain of seeing Tris dead while walking towards her cell. Tris immediately recognizes Tobias and embraces him. He explains how Evelyn took control and is denying exit through the fence. Evelyn does not want to help anyone outside the fence. She plans to put Tris, Christina, Cara, and the other prisoners under truth serum to convict them as traitors. Tobias tells Tris she will have to lie during the trial to avoid execution.
Evelyn talks to Tobias about joining all of the factionless people to start a war against Jeanine Matthews; to kill Jeanine Mathews (108). Tris decides to go to the Erudite faction to participate in Jeanine Matthews experiment (260). Tris risks her life by participating in the experiment only to end the killings everyday by Jeanine Matthews.
The main character in the novel I Am Number Four actually has no real name but he is most commonly referred to as John Smith. John is an alien from the planet Lorien who is part of nine Guardes who were sent to Earth to keep their race alive. When the planet was destroyed the whole population was killed except for John and the nine others and their adopted parents or mentors. The aliens who destroyed their planet, the Mogadorians, are on Earth trying to kill the last remaining population of Lorien that includes John. He and his mentor Henri have to constantly move around to avoid being found by the other aliens. John in the story has just moved to a small town in Ohio where he will go to high school like any normal kid except for the fact he
