Previously, he worked at a nursing home where he spent a great deal of his time socializing with his patients during their rehabilitation. He understands the importance of listening to the concerns and questions of the patients, and ensures that he builds a trusting relationship with each of them. In order to grow as a therapist, he is always learning something knew from his fellow therapists and doctors which he works closely with.

On September 8, 2015 I interviewed Dr Smith at his place of business in Washington, MO. Dr Smith gave the following information: Arlene Skornia and her husband Wilbur had been patients under his care for 10-20 years. He had overseen Arlene on several hospitalizations, and surgical recoveries, finding her and her husband to be intelligent, articulate people. He had met her sons but had little direct contact with them.

I received an assignment to investigate a complaint on Dr. Michael Kaplan on 11/20/2014 regarding some concerns raised about Dr. Kaplan’s practice at Boone Hospital. These concerns triggered an investigation by the medical executive committee (MEC). Dr. Kaplan elected to retire from the hospital, resign his medical staff appointment and clinical privileges. This was reported to the Board of Healing Arts and to the National Practitioner Databank.

On this date worker visited Mr. Robert Thomas at Cherry Hill Health and Rehab, for the purpose of monitoring Mr. Thomas's health and environment. When worker arrived, Mr. Thomas was receiving assistance from nursing staff. Mr. Thomas recently went to the dermatologist and discovered he had skin cancer on his nose and surgery scheduled in three weeks. According to Mr. Thomas, his insurance coverage cancelled and he had trouble with getting an appointment with the dermatologist and he was receiving bills wanting him to pay the 20% owed after Medicare paid.
