"Let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself..." (Roosevelt). Franklin Roosevelt did many things to wage war on the Great Depression, such as speak boldly about the topic, and take many actions to help the country's currency situation. Doing so he had a major effect on the people of the United States. Although the Great Depression was one of America's most challenging times, president Roosevelt prevailed through that struggling time. Roosevelt said many empowering words that waged a war between the United States of America and the Great Depression.

President Roosevelt created many jobs for the 25% of unemployed people to have enough money to support their families ("New Deal"). The New Deal was a promising campaign for the American people to create many jobs, not only for men, but also for women. One of the New Deal's most successful programs was the Civil Conservation Corps. "It addressed the pressing problem of unemployment by sending 3 million single men from age 17 to 23 to the nation's forests to work," ("New Deal"). Although Roosevelt created the New Deal and the Civil Conservation Corps, he also created the National Industrial Recovery Act (NIRA) and the National Recovery Administration (NRA). These programs "were designed to address unemployment... And banning child labor" ("New Deal"). Because of Roosevelt's speech, the common people "took care of their basic needs... with dignity and hope," ("New Deal"). As shown in "Stringing rural TVA transmission line" president Roosevelt cared for the people of the United States, which made the people feel thankful to Roosevelt. His words also made them feel empowered. He showed compassion by creating the NRA to "ban child labor and create an hourly work schedule" ("New Deal"). It is stated in "Franklin D.
