Transcripts Throughout my four years of high school, my GPAs have been pretty good. Spring semester of freshman year was by far the best because I managed to end the year with a 4.0. However, my classes started to get a little more challenging to me and after that semester, my GPAs started to go down. I would have to say that my worst year was junior year. I ended the year off with four B’s and only three A’s. I would definitely have to say that I let my classes get the best of me that year. Now that it’s my senior year, I now know to never let stress interfere with my grades because it is not worth it. I hope I can achieve my goal of ending the year with a 4.0.
Attendance
Overall, my attendance has been good. I have only missed school if
Furthermore, one of my most challenging experiences was maintaining a 3.0+ GPA in school while attending Oakland Community College in the Dual Enrollment Program. It was a tough situation to be in, due to the excessive amount of work I had to do for both high school and college. Every week I had to complete a chapter of my book, which consisted of long sections using words that I have never even heard of in my life, the prolonged chapters were followed by a required one to two-page essay that was due the next week or else it was considered late. Now keep in mind that these essays were a huge part of my overall grade, so I am embarrassed to say that out of the ten chapters, about four or five of them were late, but the reason for that is because
At the start of the 2015 fall semester I wanted to maintain my 4.00 GPA that I had achieved from taking college courses in high school. A couple of weeks after the semester started I took my first test in each of my classes. I was pleased to find out that I had made a hundred on my first accounting test after putting in so many hours of studying, and then I found out that I did great on my business analysis test as well. However, I did not do as great on my first business computer test, and even worse, I made a “C” on my biology test. So all of a sudden my dream of maintaining a 4.00 GPA did not look so good. I decided that I would continue to study the same way for both my accounting and business analysis classes since my scores turned out so great, but I changed the way I studied for the other two classes. A couple more weeks went by and it was time
Both the struggle to adapt to a new learning environment and graduating from a small private Christian high school, which taught me great values, but regrettably did not offer AP chemistry or physics classes, resulted in me not being adequately prepared at the time to excel in these courses, regardless of the amount of time and effort that I spent studying. Furthermore, by changing learning methods and studying intensely, not only did I significantly improve my GPA, but also in time excelled in upper-level science courses like organic chemistry, microbiology, parasitology, biotechnology and biochemistry. To further improve my GPA, after college graduation I decided to take courses in sociology, psychology and retake courses in physics and chemistry. My drastic improvement in school, which started in my sophomore year, allowed me to have an average GPA of 3.75 for the remaining six semesters. Currently, I am planning on taking more courses in the spring not only to continue to improve my GPA, but also to keep
Over the past three years I have managed to maintain a solid 3.46 grade point average (GPA) over the past 6 semesters, not including two summer semesters as well. I kept this GPA while working, at some points, 2 jobs and while taking classes and working full time every summer. I’ve worked hard to maintain this GPA while putting myself through school because I want to be not only the first person in my family to earn a Bachelor’s degree, but also the first person in my family to earn a Master’s.
While in high school my GPA was below a 2.0 and that was because I was involved in many sports that I had a strong passion for. I was very driven and dedicated, that most of my free time went into trying to be the best on the softball field and on the wrestling mat in hopes of receiving a scholarship. As an athlete you only needed a 2.0 GPA to compete and at that time I did not focus too much on exceeding that standard.
Ending my freshman year with a cumulative GPA of 3.875 and maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.895 so far my sophomore year, I have not only proven to my teachers, but also to myself that regardless of how hard the subject may be, I am always willing to do what it takes. I can’t say that all my classes are easy, because they are not. I make sure I stay after school and ask my teachers for extra help. As a sophomore, we have tests that we are encouraged to pass at the end of the year such as PARCC for English 10, Algebra II, Government HSA, and the AP Government exam. I consistently ask for all the help I need until the day of my tests and even practice/study on my own.
My current GPA is a 3.9/4.0. This is something that I have worked tremendously hard for through late nights of studying, focus, determination, and not to mention being substantially younger than most students in my major. I have always strived to give a 110% effort into all of my academic endeavors. My most effective strategy to date is to write things down. I, like many others, am a successful visual learner. Physically writing things down on paper is the most efficient way for me to stay on top of what needs to be done. Another prominent strategy that contributes to my success is to avoid procrastination. When I have a deadline that needs to be met, I find that setting smaller deadlines for myself in advance is my best tactic. In return, all of the work does not pile up the night before the assignment is due. An additional strategy that I continually use, is keeping my goals close sight. I am continually making smart choices that will benefit me the near future. My top strategy would be effective communication. To communicate effectively with others is essential for succeeding at anything in life. With three years of undergraduate studies in a nationally-accredited program, 100+ hours clinical observation through a Directed Individual study, a mission trip, and at FSU’s speech and hearing clinic, and personal experience on my behalf, I believe that I have
I’m writing this letter to you to let you know what to expect for your sophomore year. I will be giving you some advice for some of the classes you will have to take in 10th grade. It is your second year in highschool and you still have a while till you graduate so you still have to try your best. So the classes we will be talking about is English 10 with Mrs. Ladwigs, Speech with Mr. Oakander, Health with Miss Maresh, Spanish 2 with Miss Messerer, Fitness training (weight lifting) with Mr. Worm, Economic and Business Law with Miss Gestring, Geography and American History with Mr. Vanwinkle, Biology with Mr. Carmichael, and Geometry with Backstrom. I am going to give you some tips to help you in those classes.
The one thing I want to improve this year is my gpa. I want to improve my gpa because I want to make my parents proud. I am also doing it because I can bring it up. And if I keep a good gpa I will be able to keep my honors class and be able to get AP class. The major reason is because if I have a good gpa I will be able to go to college. I am also doing it because I want to better myself. The final reason why I want a good gpa is because I want to graduate with honors. Also because if I move it will be easier to get in a better
My Junior Year of high school just recently started. I have learned so many different things while attending high school, and still have over a year to learn even more. As Matthew Kelly said, “whether you are sixteen or sixty, the rest of your life is ahead of you. You cannot change one moment of your past, but you can change your whole future.” This means while I have done a lot in my past, I cannot change anything that has already happened, but I am able to change my future. One of the most important things that I am involved in right now is school. My first two years at CBHS were good, and I made decent grades. Some of the grades that I made I am not very happy with now but I cannot change that so I need to focus on my grades right now because those are the ones I can change.
Coming into Iowa State, I was deadset on becoming a dentist. I was going to graduate from Iowa State with a high GPA, score high on the DAT, and get accepted to a great dentistry program. After taking my first biology and chemistry classes, that plan quickly changed. I was working a part-time job, but other than the 15 hours a week, I was hardly productive. I ended my freshman year very discouraged with a 2.60 GPA. I then switched my major to marketing with a second major in management. I knew that it was a lot easier for a GPA to go down than up, so it was time to buckle down.
I have had a few life circumstances that have affected my GPA that is not on my record. When I first started school, I was too immature. I had gotten through high school without studying, and figured I was going to do the same as before. Not understand how important college was to the rest of your life put me in a great hole. I simply took college for granted. After my suspension, I grew up and realized I need to be as serious as I can be. Wanting to be in healthcare, there is no room for selfishness. The first few semesters back from suspension I was working to get into nursing school. I decided not at the last minute. It just did not feel like a good fit for me, and I switched to working towards a general biology degree while
As a result of this I thought that getting B’s and the occasional C as my overall grade in a class was acceptable. As I soon began to learn that I was wrong about being carefree when it came to doing poorly in school and my family could not understand why I was letting myself think that way. When I was finally tested for lymes disease it explained a lot of why I was not able to remember such easy details or facts. I finished my freshman year with a 2.6 GPA, in that moment I immediately knew that I needed to do something else to help enhance my learning capability. As time went on through my second year in my high school experience, as a sophomore I slowly increased my GPA to a 2.7. After learning that I can achieve much greater going into my junior year I kicked it into high gear with my grades to pull out a 3.45 GPA and brought my overall GPA up to a 2.94. The new techniques that I used were word association, flashcards, and making outlines of chapters to understand the whole idea of the subject. As a senior I still use these as an effective way to study to continue my desire to strengthen my overall high school
I have four school's transcripts. I studied one and half years in Korea, and move to Canada for study abroad for 1 year. Then, I move to U.S. At first, I stayed California with a cousin; however, I couldn't graduate from there because of age limit, 19 years old, so I move to Ohio, and finally I can graduate. I was so hard to adapt to each school because these changes had occurred over a short time span even though my personality was quiet, introvert and too passive in everything. However, I could experience many countries' cultures and change my personality to be extroverted and
My time at Lemoore High School, I have maintained a B average. The class I had most trouble with was math class. Throughout the three years I took math I always ended up with a D. Once I was done with math classes my GPA did rise my senior year. I have learned that when I struggle more with a class more than another class I need to ask for help, and not be afraid to ask for a little help. I am definitely satisfied with my grades this year than any other year. I will strive harder in college to get where I want to be academically.
