B-day, 3rd period Romeo and Juliet was an emotional teenage love story. Picture two teenagers falling in love and everything is on the line for them to be together. Family, time, and even their life. The main characters involved in Romeo and Juliet’s life was Friar Lawrence, the families, and fate. Moving on, To solve the problem, the two teenagers Romeo and Juliet decided to take their lives believing they could still be together. Although the mystery is left untold, of whose fault to blame… Friar Lawrence could possibly take part in Romeo and Juliet’s death. Friar was a wise man when it came to marring and giving advice. He gave advice all the time to people and he even married Romeo and Juliet. The community also knew him as a peacemaker. He …show more content…
Due to the love the two teenagers had for each other, their parents did not like the idea of them together at all. They put pressure on the children into seeing other people, forgetting each other, and moving on. If the kids did not have to hide their love for each other from the family, there would be a chance they would have lasted in life before their resting day. The parents gave pressure to them so much that even Friar Lawrence was helping them plan an escape to go live off happy as they planned to. In my opinion, parents should pay more attention and take in what their child feels to because at the end of it not all you can live their life when they are gone. Romeo and Juliet’s parents seemed like they wanted their children to be perfect which caused them even more problems with each other. If you never learn from your mistakes, you would know anything at all and I strongly believe that after the story was over Romeo and Juliet was the leading people to their own children’s
Even though some people may see Friar Lawrence’s involvement with the two star-crossed lovers as a way to provide them with the happily ever after they had always wanted, once you look at the facts you will be able to see that he is the reason why they are both dead. Some key events were when Friar married Romeo and Juliet in the first place, he made poor decisions, and he gave Juliet the idea to fake her own death. Friar Lawrence is to blame because he knew that he would face dire consequences if the Capulet’s or Montague’s were to ever find out that he married their enemy’s kids.
The Friar should have known that they were just kids and they were rushing into things. In Romeo and Juliet, Friar Laurence says, “These violent delights have violent ends. Is loathsome in his own deliciousness, and in the taste confounds the appetite”- Shakespeare. Also Friar knew that just a couple days before Romeo had his eyes set on Rosaline. The Friar knew that this was too fast, but he married them anyway. The Friar married Romeo and Juliet despite their parent wishes. The only reason the Friar married the two children was because he thought the feud between the two families would end. However, this did not go as planned. The Friar needed to find a way out of this chaos. This goes to show Friar Lawrence is the most to blame and put not only his life on the line, but also the lives of Romeo and Juliet.
The character that should be blamed the most in The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is Friar Lawrence. Friar Lawrence should be blamed because he was the one who married the couple after only knowing each other for like an hour. But what the Friar was thinking was a really good idea about marrying the two to maybe end the feud between the families. Then the Friar would be famous for the one who ended the feud between the Montagues and the Capulets.
Each character in the play,Romeo and Juliet, does certain things based on what they think and how they feel. Most of the other characters’ actions are based off of love, hate, and wealth. As for Friar Laurence, he has different motivations compared to the other characters. He stands up for peace in Verona between the two rich rival families, the Montagues and the Capulets. Everything he does is mostly centered on creating peace.
Friar Laurence is the one to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet’s. He is the one to blame because he gave Juliet a fake potion which made her pass out for a couple of hours and he didn’t let Romeo know. According to the Friar Laurence, “Unhappy fortune! By my brotherhood, the letter was not just a nice greeting. It was full of very important information. It’s very dangerous that it hasn’t been sent. Friar john, go and get me an iron crowbar. Bring it straight back to my cell (act 5, scene 2)”. Therefore, Friar Laurence had something to do with Romeo and Juliet death.
Friar Lawrence finds out about Romeo and Juliet’s love for each other but does not tell the two families about this. If he had told the families maybe Romeo and Juliet could have been able to date because both of the Lords are wise and would have consider let them get married to end the fued. However, if the families disapproved of Romeo and Juliet they could have ended their relationship in the beginning so that they would stop seeing each other. He also knew Romeo's love for Rosaline and how quickly he changed his mind he could have slowed him
If Romeo and Juliet’s parents had been aware of what was going on with their children, Friar Lawrence may not have had to tell them this awful news and their horrible end may have been avoided. Friar Lawrence was irresponsible by not telling the parents about Romeo and Juliet’s love which
Many people believe that the fued is responsible for Romeo & Juliet’s death.I can see where there coming from considering that Tybalt and Mercutio were murdered b y their hands, but i disagree with them.I believe that Friar Lawrence is most responsible for the death of the two lovers. Some overlook the fact that he came up with a plan that would cost them their lives. That plan was to fake Juliet’s death,by giving her a sleeping potion so Romeo would be with her.Friar did not prepare well enough to take on the risks and the possible outcomes that would come with this strategy.
Friar Lawrence is a character that has a hand in most events in his story. He is a character in Romeo & Juliet by William Shakespeare. I will be explaining what events the Friar affects by making decisions based on emotion. The Friar did not ask or tell anyone about him marrying Romeo and Juliet.
Friar Lawrence is good person to care more about people like a Juliet and Romeo he cared a lot for them than himself. Friar Lawrence was more responsible for the many good things that had happened in Romeo & Juliet Shakespeare. Friar Lawrence goal was to stop the war between the Capulet and Montagues by trying to arrange marriage a for the two most honor lovers in history Romeo & Juliet.
In the tragedy, Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, Acts IV and V show that the character Friar Laurence is the main contribution to Romeo and Juliet's deaths. To start off, Laurence says, “like death when he shuts up the day of life,”(IV.1). Friar Laurence is explaining to Juliet that the poison he gives her will make her look like she has died. This leads to the star-crossed lovers deaths because Romeo doesn’t know about the poison, then finds his wife “dead” and kills himself to be with her. For another example, Friar also says, “who bear my letter, then, to Romeo?”(V.2). The two Friars are talking about the letter that was supposed to be sent to Romeo to inform him about the plan with Juliet and Friar John says that he wasn’t able
First and for most, I personally believe that Friar Lawrence was the cause of Romeo and Juliet's death. I believe so because if he had not said anything to Friar John which is an untrustworthy individual no one woukd have never knew about the relationship between Romeo and Juliet. He also kept the secrets from the Capulet's he stated " Your part in her you could not keep from death, but heaven keeps his parts in eternal life" (Shakespeare 4,5). This was stating that there was nothing they could have done to save Juliet.
Is “Their parents’ strife” the reason why Romeo and Juliet’s love prove to be fatal? The world renowned play “Romeo and Juliet”, written by William Shakespeare in the 1590s, contains many different themes and events that can be linked to one another. Romeo and Juliet’s parents’ strife is not the only cause of their fatal love, but one of the many. Other causes include the decision made by Friar Lawrence, in which the path he decide to lead the event to; the boldness actions of Romeo and Juliet, in which grief and anger had taken over their actions at times and made the wrong decisions.
The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare is a drama about two star-crossed lovers whose family feud thwarts their true love. Romeo, son of Lord Montague and Juliet, daughter of Lord Capulet have found love in each other, and their feelings only deepen as time goes on. Friar Lawrence, a holy man in Verona, is eager to end the feud by attempting to help Romeo and Juliet kindle their love, in spite of the dispute. However, he does not think about the consequences. Juliet’s father, Lord Capulet, is very adamant to have her marry Paris, and is hostile to the idea of her marrying someone else. Friar Lawrence’s ambition, Juliet’s love, and Capulet’s stubbornness lead to the deaths of Romeo and Juliet.
Friar Lawrence was one of the most important characters in the novel. Even though he was not on the stage for most of the play he greatly contributed to the tragedy that would soon happen at the end of the play. There was basically three major parts that lead to the death of Romeo and Juliet, which Friar Lawrence was involved in all of them. Friar Lawrence played a vital role in the marriage, planning and death of Romeo and Juliet. His attempts to do the right thing were noble, but because of poor planning they would soon lead to the inevitable tragedy.
