In the tragedy Romeo and Juliet by Willam Shakespeare, the main characters both end up dead due to their strong love for each other. Romeo, a montague, and Juliet, a capulet fall deep in a love forbidden by their familes. Many characters aid the lovers in their doomed relationship, and many can be blamed for their deaths, the Nurse and Friar Lawrence included. The Nurse acted more as an advice giving messenger to Juliet, arranging meetings to the pair; whereas, Friar Lawrence caused most of their problems. Friar Lawrence is most accountable for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet due to the fact that he married them, he abandoned Juliet in a time of need, and he formed the plan that killed them. To begin, Friar Lawrence is the most responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet because he is the one that married them. If he had told the parents of Romeo and Juliet about their marriage then the two wouldn't have died. Instead he wanted tried to join the feuding families all on his own. The pair came to Friar Lawrence in need for his help when they first fell in love. Although the laws of the church forbid the marriage of Romeo and Juliet, Friar Lawrence agreed to it anyway and risked his place in the church. In my opinion, I believe that Friar Lawrence is responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Haven't you ever wondered what would have happened if Romeo and Juliet were never even married in the first place? Or maybe even ask yourself what would've happened if the letter were to make it. If Friar Lawrence were to make better decisions then Romeo and Juliet wouldn't have died. First, Romeo and Juliet were married together by Friar Lawrence, therefore stopping Juliet from marrying Paris and causing her to need a solution so she wasn't married twice.
First, Friar Lawrence is responsible for Juliet and Romeo death. First of all Friar Lawrence not make only one, but three mistakes that all lead to Juliet and Romeo death. First one is he gave Juliet the sleeping potion which makes her look dead so she wouldn’t have to marry Paris. In act 4 scene 1, he shouldn’t have given the potion to Juliet because of the potion Romeo thought Juliet was dead. Second one is trusting someone else with the letter who wasn’t even part of the plan. In act 5 scene 2, Friar Lawrence gives the letter to Friar John but friar john didn’t take the letter, no one did because they were all scared of the infection.
