The summer camp program will run June 2-August 25 on Monday from 5-5:30 pm for ages 4-6 and from 5:30-6 p.m. for ages 7-12.

Restaurants in the area are not a scarce thing; they serve a variety of food at various price ranges. Calhoun’s is a very nice restaurant that serves ribs, steak, and seafood. The Park Grill and the Peddler are slightly expensive, but have very good food. The Funnel Cake Company, which has two locations in Gatlinburg and it has been in the business for twelve years, it sells funnel cake mix and gives out recipes (http://www.funnelcake.com).

In the late 1972, the black community came together for a concert known as Watts Summer Festival. In 1969, the largest music festival of its time was held, and was known as Woodstock. Later that year, the Rolling Stones put together a massive free concert in San Francisco known as the Altamont Concert. All of the concerts and music festivals were not aimed at making money or becoming famous, but about the unity of people through the art of music.

The Annual Beach Cleanup is a well-known event. Everyone comes down and cleans all the beaches on the Gulf Coast. There is also a Movie on the Beach Event, and visitors bring their blankets, towels, and friends and enjoy a night out under the starts with popcorn and soft drinks provided. While they’re sometimes meant to catch attention of people so they may want to look up the festival, it also serves as a reminder for many amazing memories for the two or three-day event. For a long time now music has changed people’s lives in many ways. It has brought people to fame and lifted many out of depressions. But, to those who haven’t experienced a festival, or even live music in general, you have been missing out an amazing social experience like no other. From the kings of festivals like Woodstock or Coachella to the lesser known ones like Rock on the Range (Hard rock/metal based) and Day for Night (variety) there are hundreds to pick from. I went to the Texas Book Festival with my girlfriend. When we first arrived, I was not sure where the Texas Book Festival was, or where to park. After 15 minutes of trying to find a parking spot, we found one. In the end, we were there from 11pm to 2:50pm, in that time we explored the different tents and experienced Fany Gerson, a chef and Mexican author, make Mexican ice cream.

The last opportunity for the festival includes the role it can provide in educating the local youth about local cultural music, theater, and arts.
